By default I believe alt+click moves my window around. Except, I'm trying to use alt+click in my video game in a virtual computer and it won't let me do it. I can do click, or hold alt, but I can't alt+click in my game.
How would I disable the alt+click move window so I can use alt+click in my game?
Can I copy my virtual box VM windows XP virtual-machine files to another Linux computer and run the machine on that computer while I keep on running it on the original computer?
This question is about technical possibilities, not licences.
so here's my problem. I am trying to install windows xp on my computer in virtual machine so i can watch netflix on my computer. The disk will not start up, if I restart and try to boot from load i just sits there and says boot from cd. The disk drive plays music cd's fine, so i dont really know what the issue is.
I dont know that much aboutut ubuntu. a tech friend put it on hard drive he gave me after mine crashed. also i should ad that i took the disk to someone else's house that haswidnows installed and the disk worked just fine, so its not a disk problem
I was wondering is it possible to get a game controller like the Playstation or XBOX
for my computer?
i have the qt designer and other applications for program development that came with the centos install, but is there any software that is specific for video game design?
View 1 Replies View RelatedThis is my first time creating a video DVD from other video files. I drag and dropped 2 .flv files to the area where it tells you to drag them. They appeared there. Then I clicked "Burn..." and brasero disappeared.

This game is Java based. After rebooting the game works, but on ending the game several notification boxes remain. If these boxes are not closed in the reverse order that the game opened them, it is no longer possible to close them. Only by killing the Java processes can these notifications be made to close. Also after playing the game, even if all these notifications are closed it is many times necessary to kill the Java process(es) in order to get the game to load again at a later time. I am currently using Slackware 1.30, but a similar problem has existed in several of the past releases.

I try to configure mouse click interval since a single click is recognized as double click by doing it from KDE mouse configuration in system settings; but my attempt doesn't work even (I set the click interval to 2 sec, but doesn't change anything). What is the best way to do this in slackware?
View 4 Replies View RelatedI wanted to create another panel on my computer. I created one, which formed directly above one that I already had (at the bottom of one of my two screens). Just out of curiosity I asked it to autohide. That was a big mistake. Now, I am unable to right click to remove or change the panel (the right click menu doesn't appear). This is true for all my panels. I thought logging out might fix it. No luck. Restart. No luck. Now my "top level" panel won't load, which means I don't have access to any of the main menus at all. Basically, the only think I can access at this point is what is on my desktop.

Ubuntu 10.04 64-bit. Firefox 3.6.6. Flash 10.1.53.64. When I right-click on any flash video, FF hangs completely and has to be killed/restarted.

The only think I am not sure is the hard disk click sound only when I shut down the computer. It happens right before the power is totally cutoff. I normally do not have this sound. I presume that this maybe due to the fact that the head goes back to original position but I am not sure. Is this normal?

I just recently found out that you can also stream music if you direct the web address to a folder inside the directory. The problem is when i try to click on a .avi all it wants to do is download the video instead of playing it in the browser or playing it in windows media player. What can I do to make an .avi to stream from my linux machine ( note this is for private use only so i can stream movies on my lunch break or when I am at a friends house this is not to share my stuff to the general public)

View 9 Replies View RelatedI have installed Open Suse 11.1 on two different machines. One contains an ATI X850 video card, and the other contains an ATI X1950 video card. I updated the ATI drivers on the 850 card and it works like a dream. I updated the ATI drivers on the 1950 card and Suse becomes unusable. System works fine before the update. Before the update I ran it at a resolution of 1280 x 1024. I thought I would lower it to 1024 x 768 to see if that would help, but it does not. I dual boot with WinXP, and card works fine with that setup at 1280 x 1024, so I would suspect this is a specific problem with my Suse setup as opposed to a Motherboard issue.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI'm new to KDE and am running KDE 4.7.1 on top of Arch Linux. It's fantastic however I have one problem - virtual desktops. Yeah I know there are those "activities" things which people say replace virtual desktops and I will look into them, but for the moment I want to stick with what I know.
And it's almost set up too. In fact, it is, apart from one issue: Say I'm on desktop 3 and I click on the desktop (as in - the bit with my wallpaper, etc, not the little square in my panel) - it immediately switches to desktop 1. Got no idea why I'd want it to do that and it's bugging me.
When i got to a site such as You Tube of South Park Studios the vidio playes fine but the pause, play , fullscreen ect... Buttons dont work unless it click on them multiple times!

I am trying to do this with vloopback. After doing modprobe vloopback, the vloopback input device declared is /dev/video0 and the output device is /dev/video1.
I am trying to do this:

how this is pulled off - when you click "Print" on a computer, and the result comes out of a printer connected to some other computer on a LAN, what goes on? View 5 Replies View RelatedI am having a problem getting my virtual console back after starting XWindows. The display goes blank when I press Ctrl-Alt-F1. If I press Ctrl-Alt-F7 I get the X session back. I have tried setting vga=x31A on the linux boot up. Also tried rdev -v /vmlinuz -1, and rebooted. I have tried two different monitors, same problem. One is a an LCD (Philips 170S6Fb/27, the other a Samsung Sync Master 750s. Originally the Samsung worked fine. I could switch between X and VC no problem. Now that I have the LCD monitor working after changing the XF86Config, I have this problem.
My kernel is 2.2.15-5.0, Redhat 6.2. Here is the output of lspci for the video card:

Hopefully there is someway to control how linux sets the video mode when switching consoles.
I have one laptop connected to my tv. It has all the videos on it. ther laptop(actually a netbook) that I have set up to do light browsing on. Both are running ubuntu 9.10. I would to be able to remotely control vlc running on the laptop connected to the tv from the netbook. I have been searching for a while and have found hints that this is possible, but everything either refers to streaming from one machine to another or doesn't give enough examples to figure it out. I have tried enabling the http interface, but I can't access this from another computer.
