On my old server with a snd_hda soundcard it worked:
- people speak on a teamspeak2 channel
-- server with a teamspeak2 (aoss emulated) process "listen" people
--- ices2 capture sound from soundcard and stream with icecast2
Now i got no soundcard and i try to replicate my scenario using snd_dummy. Is it possible? I created my fake /dev/dsp used by teamspeak (no emulation) and seems to work, ices2 still don't start because "ALSA lib pcm_hw.c:1240_snd_pcm_hw_open) Invalid value for card" if i use hw:0,0 as device, "ALSA lib pcm.c:2144snd_pcm_open_noupdate) Unknown PCM /dev/dsp" if i use /dev/dsp. Missing PCM channel, as far as i understand. How can i solve? No "modprobe snd-dummy" parms seems to create PCM channel (as alsamixer shows) and ices2 won't start without.

And can not get my network setup correctly to allow people to connect externally from my LAN. I have forwarded every relevant port I could find to the computer hosting TS, I forwarded them first as their respective protocols, and then as the combined UDP/TCP. I tried Forwarding single port numbers, and then port ranges.I have also tried uninstalling selinux.I have tried connecting directly to my cable modem with the server.I had this working perfectly three months ago with all the same software, using the same guide I listed above.The only thing I can imagine has changed is my operating system itself with system updates.
My network looks like:
Comcast cable modem--->Netgear WNR3500L Router----->Ubuntu 10.04 x86 desktop edition
what else I could possibly check? I can connect to and manage the TS server fine using localhost:9987 or 192.168.1.x:9987, it just wont allow any connections from outside the network.
I have tried to install Darktable on natty with no avail, i have added the ppa's to the software sources but i keep getting this error in the software center. Dependency is not satisfiable: darktable (= 0.8-0pmjdebruijn3~natty)
View 2 Replies View RelatedI've tried the bug-reporting tool in Gnome to no avail so far. This isn't a huge problem, more a cosmetic one. I'm running Squeeze beta 2, which was a fresh install. I have a Maxtor USB portable HD, which I use to back up personal data. It auto-mounts fine, as soon as I connect it. I have full read-write access from my regular user account; but when I'm finished accessing it, when I right-click and select "Safely remove" I get an error every time. The error has to do with "unable to unmount . . . ." and I wish I had the exact text but I don't. Anyway, when I open a terminal and check the mount point, the drive *has* unmounted, so I'm not worried about data loss. But why the error? BTW, the drive is formatted as one partition with NTFS.
I'm not looking for an answer so much as I am just trying to see that someone involved in trying to get Squeeze ready to release hears about this. It's no big deal, but it looks bad.

I tried to playing with volume settings but to no avail.I recording something with arecord -f cd test.wavand tried playing it back with aplay test.wavbut got nothing.Then I thought I'd look at my sound card configuration. I selected the "Configure your sound card" from the start menu. And to my astonishment no card has been configured (I was surprised because I am able to hear sounds, play music, etc.).Anyway, I tried configuring my card. I selected Creative Labs | XFi, clicked through the menus, and eventually I got an error:
"The kernel module for sound support could not be loaded. Not sure where to ask but can we get teamspeak 3 in the repo ? Version 2 is not used anymore and the people over at [URL].. said it was ok to add it to our repo as long as we do not modify it.

View 3 Replies View RelatedSince TeamSpeak 2 doesn't come in a nice RPM anywhere, I am under the assumption that I have to go to TeamSpeak's website, download TS2, and install through their script. I did all of that, and I can successfully launch TeamSpeak, however there is no sound whatsoever. No mic, and no speakers either. TeamSpeak automatically forces mute microphone and mute headphones on me, and I can't uncheck them. Therefore, something must be wrong with TeamSpeak and my sound setup.

The Sound notifications are "breaking" ,i cant another word to describe it only hear it by frames. My friends talking the same thing. And when i start to talk the green light pops up a litle after i start talking. I recorded my voice for testing, and its framing/breaking as well.

View 6 Replies View RelatedOn my previous install of Ubuntu Lucid (desktop), installing a server was as easy as 'sudo apt-get install apache 2' and then putting my files in my /var/www directory. Doing this, I could access the server from any computer by going to my IP address. Since the last time I formatted my entire computer, I can't see to get such a server up anymore. I can only access it on my computer using my local IP.
I have ubuntu installed, but I also installed kubuntu-desktop and xubuntu-desktop in that order. All of which I can choose at login.
for some strange reason the ubuntu apt server will not work on windows, i am trying to access it via http [URL] becuase my ubuntu pc does not work with my either of my wireless cards, why you cant get onto in under windows or how i could get onto it as i would like to install quite a lot of software? the only pc i have connected to the internet is an acer laptop running windows vista and internet explorer 8
View 3 Replies View RelatedI'm running 10.04 with Apache2/PHP5.x I wanted to test some basic cgi scripts, but my browser is displaying the code (#!...) If I run the scripts on the console, they work fine so CGI is not the problem, it's apache. To install the CGI module I ran sudo apt-get install libapache2-mod-perl2 with no problems. By the way, I installed Apache through apt-get instead of doing it manually, but it seems that the installation divides the conf file in different parts, so the regular apache2.conf has this:
