Software :: Setup A Radio Server With Icecast2 / Ices2 And Teamspeak
Jan 12, 2010
i'm trying to set up a radio server with icecast2, ices2 and teamspeak.
On my old server with a snd_hda soundcard it worked:
- people speak on a teamspeak2 channel
-- server with a teamspeak2 (aoss emulated) process "listen" people
--- ices2 capture sound from soundcard and stream with icecast2
Now i got no soundcard and i try to replicate my scenario using snd_dummy. Is it possible? I created my fake /dev/dsp used by teamspeak (no emulation) and seems to work, ices2 still don't start because "ALSA lib pcm_hw.c:1240_snd_pcm_hw_open) Invalid value for card" if i use hw:0,0 as device, "ALSA lib pcm.c:2144snd_pcm_open_noupdate) Unknown PCM /dev/dsp" if i use /dev/dsp. Missing PCM channel, as far as i understand. How can i solve? No "modprobe snd-dummy" parms seems to create PCM channel (as alsamixer shows) and ices2 won't start without.
I achieved to create a stream of the audio output of my sound card. ices2 and icecast2. I receive it with an internet radio device (NOXON). Works alright, but the volume is far too low.
I have Ubuntu 10.04 x86 installed, trying to get teamspeak 3 beta30.I have followed this guide: http://robert.penz.name/296/howto-in...u-10-04-lucid/
And can not get my network setup correctly to allow people to connect externally from my LAN. I have forwarded every relevant port I could find to the computer hosting TS, I forwarded them first as their respective protocols, and then as the combined UDP/TCP. I tried Forwarding single port numbers, and then port ranges.I have also tried uninstalling selinux.I have tried connecting directly to my cable modem with the server.I had this working perfectly three months ago with all the same software, using the same guide I listed above. The only thing I can imagine has changed is my operating system itself with system updates.
My network looks like:
Comcast cable modem--->Netgear WNR3500L Router----->Ubuntu 10.04 x86 desktop edition
what else I could possibly check? I can connect to and manage the TS server fine using localhost:9987 or 192.168.1.x:9987, it just wont allow any connections from outside the network.
For the past two days ive been trying to get my Teamspeak 3 server to work to no avail. It would be a real favor if anyone wouldnt mind installing it quickly for me, or help in any other way possible. And i have checked every guide and forum post under the sun
installing a Teamspeak 3 Server 64bit on Ubuntu 6.10.I am trying to get all my windows server in Linux and I only lack a few servers.you can download it here [URL]
I've tried to contact the BBC on this but they cleverly seem to have made this impossible ! Does anyone know if there is a none Microsoft feed for radio 4, I have all my radio stations set up and working using Rhythmbox but cannot listen to radio 4 as it's a mms feed.
I am wondering if any in the Ubuntu community owns a Carmen Car Radio player by Livio Radio. The program to save internet radio to the device is written in Java, however I am not able to run it either using WINE or using Open JDK.
The Carmen Player does work well with Banshee, it is the internet radio that is not working.
I have a new install of Karmic on my system with a flyvideo 3000 tv card installed. My problem is that it doesn't find any radio channels and the input channel is completely wrong. I don't have any sound on gnomeradio and can't find the config files to change the input channel. The only input option available to me is dig1 - can anyone point me in the right direction?
I have already read the Howto for this tv card and changed the device to radio0 in the setup. I have setup tvtime perfectly with sound channel as well as with a 5.1 surround configuration. I am missing my favourite radio channel. and I want to get rid of my windows installations once and for all! Update: I did a system update and some things have changed: the radio tower graphic on gnomeradio is now green (I assume it is getting a signal) but no sound yet.
record my radio show from a radio I have plugged into my iMac. That's right. For now, I am dual booting on my iMac until I can afford to buy a dedicated PC desktop just for Ubuntu.
I can't believe that there seems to be no way for me to record my shows from my radio. Works fine when I boot into the Mac side and even when I use Ubuntu using VMware Fusion. When I boot into Ubuntu directly, Audio In in the Sound preferences doesn't seem to work. No audio coming through when I try to record from the radio.
I'm trying to setup icecast2 so that I can stream music from MPD to other computers in my local network.I have MPD all setup, but I'm having trouble getting icecast to work.I believe its a permission problem.I've been trying to follow this tutorial but I have been unable to get it to work.I've looked at numerous other tutorials and haven't been able to find different that fixed my problems.
tried to do a search for this but it's a bit of a tricky thing to search for. Basically what I'm after is a solution for my work so I can stream a online radio station down to 1 server, and then have the clients stream the audio from that. Anyone know if that's possible?
so: Online Radio >> Server >> Clients
Any linux or winblows solution would be fine, I'm just trying to look for a solution that would cut down on the internet bandwidth usage, but still allow uses to listen to online radio.
We are trying to set up a NIS server on a CentOS system. We need to have a NIS server which can provide NIS authentication to a couple of clients. We are practically new to all this stuff.
Just googled to find some ideas about installing ypserv and ypbind and portmapper. We did all that and also started them successfully. But now the clients are not able to join to the NIS domain . The error log states "YP_DOMAIN NOT BOUND".
I guess we have not entered the /etc/yp.conf, /etc/hosts files properly. Please let us know the detailed steps to setup a NIS server .
Also, please let us know what entries should go into the different /etc/<file_names>? What is meant by HOSTNAME in the /etc/hosts file?
Is there any other files which need to be changed? Are we missing any steps?
Also to add-on, while executing the ypinit command we faced the following error:
At this point, we have to construct a list of the hosts which will run NIS servers. localhost.localdomain is in the list of NIS server hosts. Please cont inue to add the names for the other hosts, one per line. When you are done with the list, type a <control D>. next host to add: localhost.localdomain next host to add:
Since TeamSpeak 2 doesn't come in a nice RPM anywhere, I am under the assumption that I have to go to TeamSpeak's website, download TS2, and install through their script. I did all of that, and I can successfully launch TeamSpeak, however there is no sound whatsoever. No mic, and no speakers either. TeamSpeak automatically forces mute microphone and mute headphones on me, and I can't uncheck them. Therefore, something must be wrong with TeamSpeak and my sound setup.
Not sure where to ask but can we get teamspeak 3 in the repo ? Version 2 is not used anymore and the people over at [URL].. said it was ok to add it to our repo as long as we do not modify it.
Moblock is blocking my teamspeak server... only some of my friends cant connect so I assume their ISPs are in the blocklists... I've tried whitelisting TCP IN and OUT for 9987 which is the default port... but still no luck..
I download the new version of teamspeak since using the synapitcs install me an older version. my problem is to start the new teamspeak I have to go to the console and type ./starterscript_of_teamspeak Is there anyway to put a botton icon to make me this instead using the console to start it ?
I can hear everyone clearly but when I go to talk, my voice comes out choppy. However, when I use Sound Recorder to record myself, everything plays back clearly.
I want to setup a FAI server for which I was looking for the best method of mirroring the Debian Lenny. I want to setup a local mirror with the best method available for mirroring. If it is ftpsync, please provide me some best ways of doing it. I tried ftpsync mirroring but that was not getting properly working due to insufficient I want this mirror to be accessible in my FAI setup so that I can start the installation on multiple machines and start the updates and package installation to be done from the same local mirror.
So i got the f15 and i notice i can't play Grand theft auto download teamspeak and i'm googling on how to use it and people tell me i have to use wine so if someone can tell me how that would be great i'd like to talk and start gaming with my friends again
I have a load balancer with 2 web servers behind it. The web servers rsync with cloud storage to update their apache directories 1 time every hour. Apache is just running php pages that pull/push data to a DB so they dont need to be updated that often. However I need to figure out how to implement a Master/Master MySQL setup to have my web servers point to for the PHP stuff. I need to implement it without having a single point of failure. The Load balancers are useless for failover as they only detect availability based on Ping request. So putting a master/master setup behind a Load Balancer is out. what is the best way to setup the master/master mysql in a HA setup without the use of a load balancer provided by the host?
I'm trying to setup RAID 1 on a CentOS 5 server for a zimbra email server.I get a partion schema error. Can I do this? The server is a HP Proliant ML150 G3 server with two 80GB HDD.
when i try to instal TS 2 client on Ubuntu it starts and im able to connect to the server, but here the problems start. The Sound notifications are "breaking" ,i cant another word to describe it only hear it by frames. My friends talking the same thing. And when i start to talk the green light pops up a litle after i start talking. I recorded my voice for testing, and its framing/breaking as well.
Is it possible to somehow setup an ssh server that doesn't require a username, password or cert to login?I wish to provide shell access to a console program, which will prompt for a username and password.Encryption is essential though, and users must not be able to snoop in on each other
If you hadn't guessed it from my last 3000(ish) java-related posts, I'm a Java n00b writing a Java Applet for a work project. I got to the part was I was about to write the applet code that would send HTTP requests to my CGI scripts. But I read some paragraphs in a book praising Java servlets as better that CGI because they are easier to use and give much better performance server side. My server load isn't very big, though, and I was wondering if it would be worth taking the time to learn about Java servlets and how to set up the server side configuration on my Fedora web server.
