Moblock is blocking my teamspeak server... only some of my friends cant connect so I assume their ISPs are in the blocklists... I've tried whitelisting TCP IN and OUT for 9987 which is the default port... but still no luck..
View 1 RepliesI have installed moblock, moblock-control and mobloquer from the AUR, however I am unable to start moblock. Mobloquer launches fine, and will update the blocklists fine. However, upon clicking "start" I receive the following;
Problematic Deamon status: 1 Moblock is not running* what do i do??? please help me i have tryed loging in as root and i maked it for compleat removal? then i reinstalled it but it still gives me the same error
it was working until i changed my MAC on wlan0 when i go to MoBlock status: this is what it says

For the past couple of day I am unable to start moblock. I am getting :* moblock is not running* blockcontrol.wd is runningI searched the forums and found a reference to IPfilterX being the cause of this problem with IP addresses starting with leading zeros and moblock not liking this format. Despite how many different searches I made using forum and using google in general, I am unable to find anything to this ipfilterx as in either how to disable it or modify the format (if possible)Can someone direct me where to look. I am quite lost. I am not even sure if this is the source of my problems. When I start blockcontrol while watching the log with tail -f, I see no error messages but when I check the pid file, the PID in this file is not running immediately after start process completes.

this however, introduced a problem where i have to manually update the list of sites allowed for kids, which is not efficient. is there any websites where i can use' wget' to download recommended websites for kids, and plug it into the list of allowed websites.
or I'm thinking that maybe if there's some way to write a script where it will automatically add the search results to the list, from reliable search engines like www.kidrex.org.

After installation I created my own list file in /etc/blockcontrol/custom-blocklist.p2p and have the following uncommented at the bottom of /etc/blockcontrol/blocklists.list:

Recently I just noticed that the locallist rules seem to have no effect. I will always get "destination port unreachable" even if the locallist entry in blocklists.list is commented out.
However, whenever I try to browse to that IP, even when blockcontrol is on, even by typing the IP into Konqueror (not the domain name), it lets me go there every time. How can I know that my other applications will not to do the same thing? How can I lock this down and test it empirically to be sure?
After some difficulty I got MoBlock and Mobloquer installed on my Ubuntu 10.10 live USB. Lists all updated perfectly, and I made sure that HTTP and FTP traffic are not allowed. All's going well, still it shows nothing under the "Logs" tab, and under the "Manage" tab, "Number of blocked connections: " is still 0. MoBlock is "up and running". Now I did some browsing as a test, cuz I'm pretty used to Peer Guardian on Windows, and I know that by now it should have blocked quite a lot of stuff. Should I have "No time stamping" checked, cuz in the "Blockcontrol log", whilst struggling to get it working, it said that "notimestamp" was a depreciated feature.. or some thing like that anyway. It still shows nothing under the "Logs" tab, and it shows "no blocked connections under the "Manage" tab still.

Check a folder for Rar files every few minutes, Unrar if present, and delete the left over files once done.
Be able to specify the directory of which folder to watch within the script.
Run an extension white list (.avi, .mkv, .mp4) and blacklist (rar files) of files to be moved.
Specify within the script which folder to move found files to.
I've seen a few online that does some of this or much more than this but I'm looking for something that just does this in a simple and efficient way... (Also for the life of me, I just can't get how to edit this to do what I'm looking for)

View 1 Replies View RelatedSince TeamSpeak 2 doesn't come in a nice RPM anywhere, I am under the assumption that I have to go to TeamSpeak's website, download TS2, and install through their script. I did all of that, and I can successfully launch TeamSpeak, however there is no sound whatsoever. No mic, and no speakers either. TeamSpeak automatically forces mute microphone and mute headphones on me, and I can't uncheck them. Therefore, something must be wrong with TeamSpeak and my sound setup.

On my old server with a snd_hda soundcard it worked:
- people speak on a teamspeak2 channel
-- server with a teamspeak2 (aoss emulated) process "listen" people
--- ices2 capture sound from soundcard and stream with icecast2
Now i got no soundcard and i try to replicate my scenario using snd_dummy. Is it possible? I created my fake /dev/dsp used by teamspeak (no emulation) and seems to work, ices2 still don't start because "ALSA lib pcm_hw.c:1240_snd_pcm_hw_open) Invalid value for card" if i use hw:0,0 as device, "ALSA lib pcm.c:2144snd_pcm_open_noupdate) Unknown PCM /dev/dsp" if i use /dev/dsp. Missing PCM channel, as far as i understand. How can i solve? No "modprobe snd-dummy" parms seems to create PCM channel (as alsamixer shows) and ices2 won't start without.

And can not get my network setup correctly to allow people to connect externally from my LAN. I have forwarded every relevant port I could find to the computer hosting TS, I forwarded them first as their respective protocols, and then as the combined UDP/TCP. I tried Forwarding single port numbers, and then port ranges.I have also tried uninstalling selinux.I have tried connecting directly to my cable modem with the server.I had this working perfectly three months ago with all the same software, using the same guide I listed above.The only thing I can imagine has changed is my operating system itself with system updates.
My network looks like:

what else I could possibly check? I can connect to and manage the TS server fine using localhost:9987 or 192.168.1.x:9987, it just wont allow any connections from outside the network.
when i try to instal TS 2 client on Ubuntu it starts and im able to connect to the server, but here the problems start. The Sound notifications are "breaking" ,i cant another word to describe it only hear it by frames. My friends talking the same thing. And when i start to talk the green light pops up a litle after i start talking. I recorded my voice for testing, and its framing/breaking as well.

I just got connected to Charter Cable Internet service a few days ago and I'm having a weird problem with my home network. Prior to this my network worked fine. On my network I have a desktop running Ubuntu 9.10/64 and Virtualbox with WinXP installed, an HTPC with Ubuntu 9.10/32 installed and a laptop dual booted with Ubuntu 9.10/32 and WinXP. The desktop and HTPC are hard wired to a wireless router and the laptop is wireless. The cable modem is hard wired to the router. I have samba installed and UFW is disabled. The problem is: with the cable modem turned off or on standby, all machines connect to each other and can transfer files, etc just fine but when I activate the cable modem all of the machines can connect to the Internet but the machines running Ubuntu can't connect to each other on the home network. If I boot the laptop into Windows, it can connect to the Linux machines just fine but if I boot it into Linux, it won't connect to the Linux machines but it can connect to the Internet and as far as the desktop, Ubuntu won't connect to the network but Windows running in the Virtualbox with bridged networking can connect to all of the machines.

I have 2 ethernet cards in it. So now i wonder, should i the second card into a router's modem/wan port and make the router a switch? or should i plug it into one of the routers lan ports?
I have 3 Dell Precision M4400 machines. After getting updates yesterday or today, I get random network dropouts like crazy, on wired or wireless. On one machine I was able to turn off ipv6 in grub and reboot, and it works now. However on the other 2 machines, still have the same problems. All 3 are running 9.10 64 bit. Is there a way I can back out the updates so the network works again? Anyone else see this behavior after updates today?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI do have internet cause I am using it on W7. The only thing that I have done different is I left the pc on over night so I guess it went to suspend for the first time. Then I powered off. After turning the pc back on and logging in I have no internet. Not even with the Ethernet plugged directly in. There is supposed to be a little blue light on when it sees the wireless and that is off. When I click on the networking icon in the system tray it says networking disabled. It shows no wireless. When I plug directly in I still get nothing. I'm using 10.04
