View 2 RepliesI continually get times where an applet on the top panel breaks, such as the Indicator Session Applet, where it doesn't show the applet, and is mimicking the clocks display, but frozen, and no functionality. This is seen in the photo, where you can clearly see the right time and applet as 5:11 and the frozen one as 4:49.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI've been running Courier IMAP for many years now, but when I added gmail's IMAP to my Outlook I noticed something interesting: when you delete a message, it gets thrown into the trash instantly.
With Courier IMAP (or any other IMAP server, for that matter), when you delete, it first marks it for deletion. Then after you Purge Deleted Messages it either gets rid of them or moves them to trash.
Is there a way to implement this in Courier IMAP?

I have a panel that I don't want anymore and for some reason when I right click on it, it won't let me delete it. Is there a Way that I can remove it?
View 9 Replies View RelatedI removed the panel that had two icons, because I only wanted to delete one of them. It was in the rightmost upper corner. It had an icon with chat related stuff, ubuntu one, etc. The 2nd icon had logout, shutdown, etc. I want that icon back. But I can't find it in the add to panel menu. Before removing the icon I checked its about message, and I think it was called the "about panel." But there is nothing resulting from a search for about in the panel menu.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI've been trying to delete one of my panels but I have no luck doing it.I follow the instruction that I found in Help, "right click on the panel you wish to remove and choose DELETE THIS PANEL" But something strange about my option of "DELETE THIS PANEL",it is there with other options, I can choose "Properties""Add to panel"...I just can't choose "Delete this panel"

Here is my problem. I am moving and sorting all of these and tossing some. I have several times right clicked on the trash and by mistake clicked remove from panel. Is there anyway to hide that option for the trash? I know I have done this several times before and now its happening alto with the project I am working on. It would be nice if I could disable that option.
Ubuntu 10.10 x64. So I want to know is there a way to disable the "Remove From Panel" option when in the context menu "Lock To Panel" is selected in Gnome. I have taken a quick look at Ubuntu 11.04 alpha it seems this is a feature set as default, it just annoys me the now and then I will remove applets when I am not intending to do so.

View 4 Replies View Relatedget rid of the bottom panel in Opensuse 11.2 and just use a dock with applets. However, if I remove the bottom panel, the little icon that allows me to connect to wireless will go with it, right? And it wouldn't do me much good to get rid of that, because then I can't connect to the Internet...So, is there a wireless connection applet for the dock? I didn't see one anywhere. I can install the file manager app, but could I access it from there on the dock? I just want to make sure I can still connect to the Internet without the bottom panel.

I've just returned to KDE after a long absence, and am wondering if there is a panel, system tray, or similar applet to disable/enable the screensaver. I know I can go into system settings, but what I'm after is something that's one click. It's for when I'm watching stuff like iplayer.

Everytime I start an app, the task panel will for a while show a new "dummy" entry "Opening Application X", which is extremely annoying and makes no sense, since I know I'm opening it, because I just clicked on it myself.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI tried Linux Mint 8 for awhile and seem to remember that System/Administration/Disk Utility gave a lot more useful information than what is available in Ubuntu. It showed the partitions as being healthy or not and even gave the temperature of the hard drive and if the disk is failing. Is there any way to get this same functionality in my Ubuntu 9.10 configuration?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI finally upgraded my desktop from 9.10 to 10.04. I do not feel that this was a step forward; a lot of little things just don't work. For example, when shutting down with 9.10, it automatically shuts down in 60 seconds. With 10.04, it waits *forever* for a 2nd mouse click.
The USB drive - there used to be an option to un-mount it without removing it. That's gone now, and I'm guessing that I will find more of these as the days go on. And all the colors have been removed from the panel applets. Not really a functionality issue, but it is a negative to the user experience.
So my question is: How can I restore these features? Is there a configuration somewhere I can edit?
I've been holding out on the recent few versions of Ubuntu because of the recent changes, so I was just wondering if 10.10 will bring back some of those lost features.
1. Will we see a way to have a customisable login screen?
2. Will there be an option to move the close button as a standard setting?
