that's pretty much about it. I just can't open the IMDB web page. It never loads and the page is just blank.The firefox tab says: "loading" and later says "the connection was reset" blablabla. It is the only web page that I can't view so far.

IMDB gives me a "recently viewed" list of pages I viewed recently (and a few of them were months ago, since I don't go there too often) at the bottom of every page I view. My cookies are enabled for session-only, have adblock plus, my ip changes every day, how are they doing that? How can I prevent it? What other websites are using the same trick? At this page [URL] there's a link there that says "Clear entire history", but I want to disable them from being able to track me like that, if they can track me, so can others.

Once opened i can press ctrl and + to jump to 120% zoom and once i'm there my settings make me stay there no matter what. What i want is for Firefox to open at these settings.
View 9 Replies View RelatedAfter installing a bunch of new updates with the update manager a few problems have popped up regarding the scrolling in firefox with the arrow keys. The first problem is that when I open up a new web page it does not automatically allow me to scroll. I have to first click the web page and then are the arrow keys enabled. The second problem that I have is that when I press the down arrow key to scroll down in the beginning it jumps down to the end of the page. The third and final problem is how it scrolls. For some reason a site in firefox acts like a word document. Instead of be the arrow keys controlling the scroll bar it controlls the little I symbol you see when typing.
It is amazing how annoying it can be when you can't scroll with the arrow keys. If nobody knows how to then I will probably just reinstall firefox. I have also just figured out that page up and down also do not work.
Whenever i try to veiw any file in nano through commandline by nano -w <file> it doesnt show my any data on that page it just open up a blank page bt when i installed it ie lst night it was showing the data of the file properlly now whats wrong with hat nano ?

After installation of 11.3 i update the OS from online. i have a cable net with IP address / subnet mask / Gateway / DNS. All are working fine but all of a sudden there was a power cut in our locality and my cable net was delinked.
When the elecricity came again i tried to connect the internet for online updation, but all in vain. No page is openup though the terminal told me that "You are already logged in with process id 1425." When i typed the command to kill the process it said that there is no such process running.

Problem Is In My company we have redhat entprise 5 and its running well with samba server for our intranet. I wants to upgrade the intranet by using joomla. Problem is i have installed the xampp succesfully but when i type [url] it still opens our old intranet's homepage.
I am using OO 3.1 on Karmic 9.10. When working with Open Office Writer and either graphics or charts, a couple of things happen. First of all, the page position moves around. For example, if I click on a graphic I have inserted or on a chart, the page on my screen may shift up or down by a half inch or so. If I click back out in a text area, the page moves back to where it was. This is very annoying. Has anyone else had a problem like this? Strange line of text appeared on open gedit page on first use after upgrade from 10.04 t0 10.10. I was reading something and copypasting the odd bit onto a gedit note: left the room, returned to find blank page except for "nnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn". Then I saw that it was just the tail-end of a longer line which had stretched the page width to max, and by deleting backwards I arrived beneath my intact notes. The line was "I[my bolding]nnnnnnnnnn...nnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnby v9898". I googled v9898. And there's a v9898. com. It provides something for Windows systems.

View 2 Replies View Relatedi am able to try ubuntu and everything works fine until i try to install. the menu comes up to the first page where it tells you to plug in your machine and make sure there is enough disk space and network connectivity. when i hit next on this page the mouse icon changes but the next page never loads. the longest i let it hang there was 2 hours. ive tried multiple times with the same result.

I just want to setup a test web server that more closely mirrors our actual web server that is hosted by rackspace. I've installed centOS and tried to setup Apache, PHP and MySQL from a guide on the web using Yum. When I go to localhost in the web browser I'm able to see the default apache page. However when I create a php page it's just blank.When I look at the apache error logs I get this: PHP Warning: Unknown: failed to open stream: Permission denied in Unknown on line 0
I've been searching alot on the internet and I know the issue is permission related, but I don't know how to fix it. I've seen some forum posts that say you need to use the chmod 775 command on the /var/www/html folder.Currently when I do ls -l /var/www/html it returns

I'm sure that this isn't correct but like I said I don't know much about how to set permissions or who the owner needs to be. I've done alot of searching and seen similar posts, but no one seems to explain it clearly.
On FC11 64 bit with Adobe flash plugin for Linux installed, I see segfault errors from "npviewer" in /var/log/messages. The only browser I have tried yet, Firefox, has glitches every now and then. Sometimes it shows the title of a page in a tab, but the page is blank. This can even happen when I try the Google main page. Is it true that npviewer has something to do with Adobe flash? Is there a way to fix the problem? If it is caused by Adobe flash, is there a different plugin that will replace Adobe flash player?

What is my problem? I have a page (one page - text an graphic) to print. When I sent it to my printer it prints OK. When I sent it agian, the output is totally garbled. When I sent it again (a third time) it is OK. Sent it again (4th time) it is garbled. Sent it again ... you get the picture ;-). Alternating good and bad pages.
What is my setup? I run Fedora 14 with Cups 1.4.6. The printer is a HP Deskjet 940C. It is connected to a linksys wireless print server. It is configured in CUPS to use ipp printing. The driver I use in Cups is 'CUPS+Gutenprint v5.2.6 Simplified (color, 2-sided printing)'.

View 16 Replies View RelatedI have a Canoscan LiDE 30 scanner which works fine in Linux. I haven't used it in months, and never since moving from Jaunty x86_64 to Fedora 11 x86_64. This evening I suddenly need to scan two pages to send to someone via e-mail, and the recipient is desperate to receive them. Naturally, Xsane has decided this is the moment to screw me.
The problem: I cannot figure out how to tell Xsane that the page size is 8.5 11. It insists on scanning only the left side, 3.99 x 11. I cannot find a page size anywhere in any of the buttons.
In Preview I once got it to scan the entire page, but could not figure out how to save the image to file. Subsequently I have not been able to figure out how I did it. In any event, scanning from the small main window always scans 3.99 x 11. Adjusting the scan area manually in the Preview window allows me to change the size area in the small main window to 8.5 x 11, but when I then scan from the small main window it reverts to 3.99 x 11.
I have scanned the document a hundred times at least, each time trying different buttons, but nothing has succeeded in getting the full page.
I am running 9.10. I have a HP Photosmart 7350 printer. I have it installed and printing. But the issue I am dealing with is that it will print a full page and then print a blank page..then a full page..then a blank page. Actually they aren't completely blank..it shows half of "2 of 6" or whatever page it is on. Like it cuts that in half and prints the 2nd half of "2 of 6" onto a separate new page.
