Mar 12, 2011For some time now it's not loading properly, just get a big blue screen with a title bar. This is using 10.04 64bit with Firefox 3.6.15.I think it's since I upgraded to 10.04.

Ubuntu :: Connection - Load A Website Taking To Long To Respond And Sometimes Doesn't Load
Oct 2, 2010When i open one of the web browsers i use and try to load a web site it's taking to long to respond and sometimes it doesnt load the website at all. I have tried with firefox,epiphany,opera with all the same results. I am sure that this is not a problem with my internet connection because i don't have these problems with windows.Also the network manager connection settings are correct
I also tried choosing the old kernel(2.6.32.24) to boot from but no success.The problem is the same as if i am using the 2.6.32.25 kernel. The strange thing is that i can download packages from synaptic with full speed. Last think.I have recently downloaded the recommended updates from the update manager but i don't remember what are the things that where updated.

Feb 2, 2009Ever since switching to openSUSE 11.1, I have been having problems with certain websites (using the version of Firefox that came with openSUSE 11.1). Some website's CSS code won't load until repeated reloads - for example, wachovia.com. I'll visit the website and it will be all distorted because the stylesheets did not load, and I will have to refresh a number of times before it becomes usable. Other website's images won't load until multiple refreshes, like facebook.
Is this an openSUSE issue? An openSUSE interaction with Firefox issue? I've never had this problem on XP or Ubuntu.
CentOS 5 :: Can Ping Webserver But Can't Load Website
Jul 29, 2010Im running drupal on my webserver and, this morning all of the sudden I went to edit a node and now I cant load the website in my browser at all. I can ping the machine and SSH into it fine, but it will not load the website in chrome or IE, I have no idea whats going on here.
Edit: I did a 'service httpd restart', it took 3mins to restart, is this normal? After I did that it loaded once, not even all of the page, now its doing the same thing again.
Edit2: Now it seems to be working fine again...

Jun 8, 2011I am having problems with website load speeds. I have fendora 15 and windows loaded on my machine. When I am in windows the internet connection is fine but when I am in fedora everything is slow. I am connecting wirelessly to a netgear router using a D-Link DWA-552 XtremeN Desktop Adapter
I have not installed anything for the wireless card.
I have tested my speeds from here [url] and I know that I am getting around 7000kb down.
I have gone into firefox to about:config and set network.dns.disableIPv6 to true... but everything is slow.
Server :: Best Way To Serve Website On Two Ip Address (load Balance)?

The problem is, sometimes our internet winks out for a few minutes.
We decided that we wanted to get two seperate lines to our server, and so they would be two different ip addresses.
What out there would allow us to serve apache on www.mywebsite.com on more than one ip, and, if we can, do load balancing?
Ubuntu :: Theme Doesn't Load Properly
Apr 11, 2010Sometimes when I log on, I find that the theme (specifically the window borders and icons) didn't load properly, and that I instead get a set of grayish window borders (Raleigh, I believe) and the gray GNOME icons. Sometimes the window borders corrects itself, but the icons stay the same. Reloading compiz doesn't help, and the only solution I found was to logoff/logon.

But when I run it, and set the Firefox port to:9900 it fails to load any website. The goal is to compress to the maximum the images, and other stuff that uses too much bandwich (like Opera Turbo). I really dont care if a picture is full of pixels, or not. I do not want to use Opera, just to enjoy a fast Internet. I will not install Midori, Iron, Chrome, eLink or Arora. I want to continue with my usual Firefox and opera. The advantage is that in Firefox, I have NoScript, and other several improvements/extensions, which I cant enjoy in Opera.
I think the fault is, to include four different parameters (Address,Port,NextProxy,NextPort) that are probably for the same thing. Also had thought that perhaps there is some way to apply the proxy system-wide, not only in the Firefox settings. Maybe by editing the configuration of Networkmanager?

Aug 16, 2010I have a HP Officejct Pro 8000 Printer hooked to UBUNTU 9.10 on a system 76 box. The printer is not loading paper properly. I see references to this issue on various websites and I saw at least one reference to new drivers but alas they were all for windows. I checked the repository and I have the latest and greatest HPLIP. Does this mean I have all of the latest drivers?

Apr 30, 2011I had just upgraded when after the first reboot I noticed that the black Ubuntu screen (with the little red/white dots) is actually white and buggy. It's unreadable and looks trashed.
After the first login, the desktop wasn't able to load properly, leaving me with a blinking, unresponsive icons and no menubars.
The only way to use the desktop environment is to choose Ubuntu Classic (both with and without effects) and Ubuntu Safe Mode.
I do have nvidia drivers installed (173).

I have also downloaded the DVD iso program from this site and get only errors when trying to boot with an ISO burner? I am attempting to load the program on Sun Virtual Box, which is like VMare's Workstation, and the prompt consistently reads error when attempting to install. Also the progress bar on the Live USB loader never stops even after it the cmd prompt says it is complete.

Nov 21, 2010I want to dual boot Windows Server 2008 r2 and Ubuntu 10.10 . First, I installed Server 2008 r2 then Ubuntu. After the installation, Grub only found Ubuntu, and "Windows Recovery Enviroment (loader)" on dev/sda1. The Windows OS is installed on dev/sda2. When i load "Windows Recovery Enviroment (loader)" it does a chdsk, then reboot the PC.
How can i make grub find the Windows OS?
Edit: The partition on dev/sda1 is called System Reserved

After I launch WVware Workstation a message appears: "Before you can run VMware Workstation, several modules must be compiled and loaded into running kernel." I select install (yes), and after that it's giving me error: "Unable to build kernel module. See log file /tmp/vmware-root/setup-30979.log for details."

My webserver accesses a backend mySQL server using CentOS5
The last week, I have been getting a "page Load Error" on my web server whilst others told me they are getting a "broken link" error when they try to access my web site. It has been working fine for the last 12 months until last week.
ADSL, modem and router okay according to service provider (verizon)
I can ping my IP address and my domain name.
# netstat -tap
shows http and https both processes running.
# service httpd restart
no issues
I shut down firewall and tried again, but got the same "page load error".

Jun 17, 2010I noticed the debian was not giving me sound playback to some things, such as some games. but other games worked.
So being the ignorant idiot i am i blindly ran alsaconf and did something and now my sound dose not work at all, but if i go to the top panel, click on system- go to preffrences then sound, i can select my input out put device and I happen to use a Usb audio device with a mic.
If i play the test sound i actually get the continuous beep that plays, i can hear it.but now, the Mic dose not work for things like Skype or anything else. also, the sound dose not work when i load ANY games. I come from a windows background if that helps.
when i type the code:

If i'm not a complete fool, then i believe that is my sound card.
I think that after running "alsaconf" a second time i was able to mount the correct sound device.
but it gives me the error message:Terminating processes: 3721.

So, is there a way to reinstall my alsa drivers or something. sound dose not work after this, by the way. And will updateing debian lenny solve this? i am not sure which version i have, but it is for sure the 32-bit version. im at my wits end. Reinstalling the whole os can be an option, but i really dont want to do that. first i would have to reinstall Windows xp and install debian useing a windows installer. booting from an ios dose not seem to work for my system. I have an old computer, it was built for windows 98 computer.

Feb 9, 2011I have a rack of IBM x335s. They are all running 802.1Q over 802.3ad, that is VLAN trunking over two physical Ethernet bonded with LACP. Its been working fine on all of the servers for years.One server recently had its hard drives upgraded and CentOS reinstalled. It is a minimal install. The server has been reconfigured exactly as it was and has been verified and compared against the other working servers.It will not enslave the interfaces on boot. You can manually enslave and then bring up the network, so that much of the configuration is verified. It simply refuses to enslave... which fails everything that comes after thatHere is a snippet of the message log on the machine that does not enslave on boot
