There is a theme there already called "Beryl Red" (I assume it's a default), but there is no button to install or use it.
Ok yesterday I had a problem where I tried to install some Emerald themes on Xubuntu 11.04. It did not work and in the process, all of my Windows Decoration was gone, the Maximize and Minimize buttons at the top of each windows were gone, as shown in the picture attached. I am done with emerald, I uninstalled, I just want my top windows bars back. I found a command for the terminal that fixed it, but when I turned my PC on this morning, the bars were gone again, and I had to reenter that command again. The command it 'xfwm4 --display=:0.0 --replace' that brings them back. Is there a way for my computer to automatically do that command or is there another permanent solution?

My net seams to be moody only in my fedora sometimes I have wait as long as 30 sec for the page to load where as in my windows it's fine no such delay. This happens randomly yesterday night I had tough time accessing this forum (in addition to other sites) now it's working fine.

I've gotten everything working (including Compiz) except that I can't find Emerald anywhere? Is it possible to install Emerald in Debian Squeeze? If so, is there a PPA or repository?

When I do this the theme changes. However when I close the terminal it reverts back to the gnome default theme. What do I need to do to keep the Emerald theme changes. Previously I added the following to the start preferences: fusion-icon --no-start
I'm using Emerald Theme Manager 0.7.2. Using Oxygen 0.1 as the engine, when I switch between Firefox tabs the Title Bar lags at times and displays the previously viewed tab/screen. If I click in the Title Bar, it then updates.

I saw the .tgz & also the folder but no luck with getting the themes to work.

I think the theme is called Orbit Fun? I came to this forum instead of aptosid's forum to learn how to install KDM themes the Debian way using a terminal and not the KDE-Look download way. KDE-Look does not have the official Squeeze theme at this time, and I generally do not like the aptosid artwork, but I really like sid.

I want to install dark themes such as Cobra and Aero-ion but they conflict with Firefox, and I don't want to use Chromium. Do I have to stick with basic and default themes if I want to customize or switch to Google Chromium? Can someone point out a website that, well, has ones compatible with Firefox 4?

Normaly It is supposed to show themes in /usr/share/themes right? but now it shows themes only in ~/.themes folder. I don't know what affected the change. how do I configure it as to show themes in /usr/share/themes/,?
Also whatever theme I use , Controls would stay same(Classic controls). They wouldn't be update to those of the Theme used.

Anyways, i followed one of the posts and successfully compiled the driver using "sudo make menuconfig." I attempted to install with the "make install" command, and the first half of the driver seemed to install and the second half (firmware related) received errors.

I bought this as an emergency purchase and have had nothing but problems with it and other than throwing it at the wall I thought I might try one last solution - to install Linux. This device has no optical drive but it does have power ISO installed but I don't know where to start with all the choice of Linux, Ubuntu etc. Plus other than the OS will I need any other software? I am a newbie and don't know much about computers so I won't be insulted if you think this is idiotic.

I have made multiple installation attempts using the various 11.4 x64 live & non-live versions. As soon as I get past the splash screen with the boot options, the display becomes corrupt & continuing is impossible. I have attempted using the various video options under the F6 menu (text mode, vesa, safe mode) without success.
I am reasonably certain it is a failure of the video driver. I have observed the identical behaviour while installing MS Windows with the incorrect video driver. The video chipset manufacturer does provide a linux driver on their website. It is a .run file. I have the .run file on a USB stick along with the OS files. This is a link to the hardware platform I am attempting to install to. Is it possible that my video chipset has insufficient video memory?
I'm installing my first new Dell SCSI controller card (PERC 6) and storage array (MD1000) into my first RHEL server. I've done this plenty of times in a Windows world, but never in Linux. I know the BIOS will pick up the SCSI card and I can go into that during the boot screen to set up how i want the array (RAID5), but once Linux comes up, will it automatically find and mount the drives, or do I have to do something?
