Minus the Quota for the mailboxes, since I don't really care about that. But I don't think that should cause any problems in the configuration.
The server is in my local network.
I tried to connect with Thunderbird and Kmail. Kmal brings up an error message eventually, saying something about a time-out.
Squirrelmail says code...
I searched everything & everywhere only to see that more people have that same error message come up with Squirrelmail. From my understanding some have fixed the issue but I couldn't actually find a solution to this.
Does anyone know how to fix this?

-Squirrelmail-1.4.2.tar.gz and unzipped under the folder /var/www/html
-cd squirrelmail-1.4.2
-cd config
-within this directory, ./conf.pl
-From main menu, I did choose 2 for domain (i.e. arafapparels.com). This is my official domain
-Then save and exit
-For IMAP setting, I did choose D
-Selected uw and save, then exit
-Then from command line, I wrote chown �R apache.apache /var/www/html/data (I created folder data in the above path)
-I created a folder named as attach to keep attachment in /var/www/html i.e. /var/www/html/attach
-Then typed grep �R apache /var/www/html/attach
-Then typed chmod 730 /var/www/html/mail/attach (Here squirrelmail-1.4.2 directory has been moved to mail directory)
-Then from web browser/Internet explorer, I typed http://localhost/mail/
-Here Username & Password appears. Previously I have created username.
-But when put Username & Password, below error message displays

But I gave permission by chmod 777 /var/www/html/mail and by using 555 but no result.
I have installed NeatX on Ubuntu Lucid 10.04.[URL]..And I use the No Machine Windows client to connect.[URL].. On first glance it is superior to FreeNX because it does incorporate theme and style into the remote session. On longer usage it gets more and more trouble connecting. Basic commands like RestoreSession and Terminate do not work, but get the same reply.

I'm trying to set up a VPN connection between our CentOS 5.3 server at work and my bosses XP computer at home. At this point, we are kinda locked into Quickbooks. I'm testing the connection from my XP boot at home to see if it works. I can log into our servicemanuals easily enough from XP at home however, the windows takes forever to update. I have the Samba server only listening on port 445 because is seems to work more efficiently at work. I connect to the Samba shares via linux from home and everything works well but, when I try to do anything with the shares from Windows client at home, it's very slow!
I'm thinking that it must have something either to do with the Windows OpenVPN client or the client.conf file. Is there anything I should look at in the .conf file for answers?

The command I'm using to log in is: ssh -X -l username host I doubt the problem is with the server I'm logging into or it wouldn't work in windows, not really sure what to look for as I've never had a problem using x11 forwarding from a linux client before only windows ones

View 4 Replies View RelatedI have installed lamp server on a computer i have for website development. i use the latest ubuntu server 9.10, apache, php, mySql, Webmin - all the latest versions. it has been running very smoothly for a while now, accessing both from internal network as well as from outside.my problem is very strange - whenever i connect using ftp client to my server from outside, to do a "massive" file operation like uploading a big number of files or deleting an entire directory, my computer/server "crashes" and i lose connection to it for a few minutes. i cannot access it via ftp, not ssh, and neither of the website installed on it run (http). i just have to wait about 10 minutes for the server to come back again.Like i said - it only happen when accessed from the outside (internet). if i do the same operation from a local computer (the same network) no problem there.

Install and configure Ubuntu Server 11.04 with:
- Apache (LAMP)
- Samba
- SSH
- Subversion
- Webmin
As well as configuring mdadm RAID and setting the system up for multi-user access. For an experienced Linux user like myself, I don't believe that it will take me very long to get things up and running, but again, I have no idea where to even begin as far as pricing goes. Keep in mind that this client is a small business owner of a game development company with only 5 employees. I am told that he only has a "modest" budget to work with. Additionally, it is possible that I will be hired in to this company shortly, to help with game development and to maintain this system which I am setting up. I would like to use this opportunity to make money, of course, but I also want to be reasonable with the client so that I may be hired in to his company in the coming months for a programming job.

I'm trying to set up a private irc server. I install ircd-ircu, modify the configuration file, restart the daemon, and everything works great. After the next server reboot, the server shows the daemon is running, but I can no longer connect to the server from my irc client. I've tried restarting the daemon with no luck. I can then uninstall and reinstall it with the same outcome. Everything works initially, but after rebooting, the irc client can't connect..

I've asked some questions about Debian in the past, but I decided to just go ahead and start simple, with Ubuntu, then moving up once I've got the hang of things. So, I want to use Ubuntu 9.10 as a fileserver for my network, which consists of 3 Windows PCs and 1 Mac.
