I am running Ubuntu 10.10 and Cinelerra 2.15CV on a Asus eeePC 1015PE.When I try to copy the ttf fonts over with Nautlius there the paste option is dimmed out. I have tried to follow the directions on the video here:And no luck. I have also made a viedo to see the problem I'm having here:

Have previously run Cinelerra happily on other Ubuntu installations. I am using 10.04. Am I missing some dependency?
I have tried installing cinelerra with autoplus and even doing it by hand. Both ways I get "No package cinelerra available" errors.

I also followed the installation instructions from the AutoPlus website and got the same result. I looked at the ATrpm website and all I found was cinelerra-2.1-21_git20101021.src.rpm, Am I doing something wrong, or is there another way to install cinelerra?
Anyone know how to get sound during the editing session of Cinelerra? Any ideas out there?
Looks like no sound in rendered file either! So no sound at all with Cinelerra....
p.s. I have sound working fine with all of my other programs. And working with same files on Kdenlive, Kino or Pitivi, all give me sound no problem. Running a basic Karmic Ubuntu Studio 32bit setup.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI've installed Ubuntu 10.10 on my harddrive and want to install Cinelerra (CV). I'd followed the steps on there website, but it doesn't seem to work for me. Since they haven't upgraded there version to 10.10, you are stuck with all the old dependencies. I needed to install: libcinelerra. Searched it, but this libary needed libx264-85, which I cannot find in Synaptic. Probably because it is and 10.04 libary. I do have libx264-9x.

What I would like to do is adjust the length of images that are inserted into a slideshow using Cinelerra. Right now I have to resize every image by using the drag handle, but It would be easier to do that with one batch function.
I am running Ubuntu 10.10 on a Asus netbook.If I go to System> Preferences > Monitor the largest resolution available is already selected: 1024X600.I have also tried to adjust the different apperances in System>Apperances I made a video of the issue here:

I have been messing around with Cinelerra after doing a Final cut pro course some time ago but as it needs to be told what to do more i am finding it hard going. When I have track 1 that has audio and video and also track two has the same then i mute the audio in one and block out the video in then other. Then add effects. It is then moving audio or video around and nothing is in sync anymore. Not where i put things. I undo the effect to see if it will go back but no go. I try to undo to the point where maybe i missed something but nope that is not it. Inevitably i have to redo everything again but then i end up with the whole thing out of sync again. I had a previous install of Ubuntu and Cinelerra and i don't remember striking this problem. Am i not loading the tracks properly. I don't have a good work flow with this and i know i should try something more simple but i am impatient to edit videos i have had for years and years and years. I never did learn editing in windows so i am happy to be getting somewhere in Linux.

Normally I say yes and hope for good, but this time... I do not use adobe flash player, but I would still like to watch ..... videos. Would be hard without gnash, right? I use iron portable and iceweasel. Also I use totem a lot, but aptitude seems not being able to resolve this inconsistency automatically. My question is: what would happen, if I just say "y"? gnash is completly away? And is there any way to install newer version of gnash or do whatever to have everything working?
I am running squeeze on a PC 1386 and installed nvidia by using the packages in unstable. I was able to install nvidia and there was no error until the time I started X. The error is unable to load module "nvidia" (module does not exist, 0).
I looked up the log for Xorg and it says Unloadable Module "nvidia".
I spent the entire 24 hours to fix it because this is my office computer and I practically done all the stuff found in the forums. I already did nvidia-xconfig to no avail. I even edited xorg.conf manually and still it was not up.
I have some suspects however which are:
1. Different versions between kernel and nvidia (but since I did it the debian way then I should not have any problems).
2. Nvidia-glx is unusable in Squeeze, so does it mean I go for the unstable distro?
3. Or I miss something crucial on how I installed it?
By the way, I installed Nvidia because I am using a SAMSUNG 21' LED monitor.
After upgrading to 9.10, the fonts I had placed in my .fonts folder no longer function in any application.I have tried to re-install them by just clicking on the font itself and going through the installation screen. But this doesn't do anything.I have tried to delete and the re-create my .fonts folder in my /home partition. But that also fails.
Did Ubuntu do something different with user-installed fonts in 9.10? Should my fonts be relocated to another folder?How can I install "after market" fonts?

View 3 Replies View RelatedI have just undertaken my first install of debian after a couple years of using ubuntu. I used netinstall and have made a minimal install with wheezy and lxde. I am trying to install the ubuntu-font-family because it is so pretty!
1. I tried downloading the .ttf files, extracting them to a directory and using the program 'font-manager' (which I had used on ubuntu previously,) and it says they are installed but I can not access the font from any program.
2. I tried using fontmatrix, another graphical program. Same thing.
3. I tried installing the .deb package for the fonts after downloading from the ubuntu repos. still cannot use them. (but I can physically see the font files in the folder, same as with above methods.)3. i tried manually installing the fonts via the command fc-cache -f -v (after placing them in /usr/share/fonts, /usr/local/share/fonts, and ~/.fonts [none of which worked.]) After running the command 'fc-cache -f -v,' I run the command 'fc-list' and the fonts are still not in the list.

The font settings are all serif and sans serif in both the system fonts settings and firefox settings.
I am using ubuntu 9.10.
Any idea why this could be happening?
I would like to use the Adobe Garamond Pro in my text doccument in open office writer. I got a text document where from a friend where it is used so I know that it can. But when I want to edit I cant find it in the fonts dropdown menu.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a folder with over 1500 fonts, I would like to move them to my /usr/share/fonts folder so that they can be used. Some are from Windows, some are just random extras. I've installed the msttcorefonts, but there are quite a few missing that make some wen pages look different.
How can I go about putting the fonts from my folder, into the appropriate /usr/share/fonts folder to be used? And how can I move them all? I can't drag and drop them, and mv FONT_NAME /usr/share/fonts for all of them will take a month or two. Is there a way to elevate my self to be able to just drag and drop them all? And which folder would they need to go into for them to be used in Chrome and Firefox?
when I go to software center, it shows the ms core fonts but there is no install button. I have loaded the restricted extras and medibuntu repos. not sure why it is not working. ubuntu version 10.04 btw.

I hooked up Lucid to a 50" and adjusted the resolution to the max. Gives a clearer sharper picture but all the displayed items are tiny. Is there something I need to do that I haven't? I went from 1086x720 to 1400(approx)x900(approx) and created the problem. Now I'm back at 1086x720. I'm using the Nvidia 195 drivers.

I get strange lines across the screen, a weird white box around the cursor and all the fonts are messed up (much similar to this thread http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1395788)I think the problem started when updating to kernel 2.6.31-22, but booting into 2.6.31-21 (which worked just a few days ago) does not solve the problem. I have also tried to disable all screen effects and I have installed the radeonhd driver - without any luck.

View 8 Replies View RelatedI have just installed openSUSE 11.2 X86_64 on my laptop, I then used KDE to install lots of type 1 fonts for my printer. These get loaded to /usr/local/share/fonts/...These installed fonts are visible to KDE (KWRITE) and GIMP so I assume that the installation was O.K. When I start openOFFICE writer I do not see these fonts. The font selection appears to be the fonts located under /usr/share/fonts. I have not tried other ooo3 components. I assume that they are not going to see the fonts either.
I have searched google and it appears that /usr/local/share/fonts is the correct location for non-packaged fonts. Has anybody any idea what is wrong? I think I could move all the fonts to /usr/share/fonts and ooo3 would work but this seems to break the installation directory structure. I have considered symlinks but I don't like the idea of defining a font twice to Linux and creating the syslinks is more work than reinstalling the fonts if they are lost
I am running Debian Squeeze with 2.6.32-5 amd64 kernel with GCC 4.3.5 (the same one used to build the kernel) installed. I have a nVidia GTX 470. I'm trying to install the latest nVidia drivers (260. ...). I've never installed noveau or any other open source nVidia driver. Here's what I've been doing:-Change the "Driver "nvidia"" line in /etc/X11/xorg.conf to "Driver "vesa""-Restart system in single user mode as root, no services running-cd to the directory with nvidia-Linux-x86_64-... .run (what I'll call nvidia.run)-enter "sh nvidia.run --uninstall"-enter "CC="/usr/bin/gcc-4.3" && sh nvidia.run"It starts up and it compiles the kernel 100%. I am using Karmic. I just downloaded Cinelerra from sourceforge. Apparently there is no installation, you just run the binary (according to the Readme). The binary is set to be executable (-rwxr-xr-x), but when I double click it in nautilus nothing happens. When I go to the app directory in the terminal and do:

Just installed Iceweasel 4.0 and i must say, the fonts really looks shit See screenshot: [URL]... I thought this would be fixed with a newer version of libcairo but it seems that it is not that import to fix this shitty font. It's giving me a headache. To be honest, the fonts looks much better in Ubuntu (not that i now go back to Ubuntu for that reason). All the topics spent on the libcairo issue are mostly a waste of time imho if it is not fixed at the source. Well, i don't wanna nag about it. I only wonder, is there a good solution to fix it and help me get rid of my headache (besides taking an aspirin).
