View 8 RepliesHave been to the website of cinelerra but cannot for the life of me work out how to install the programme.
View 8 RepliesI have tried installing cinelerra with autoplus and even doing it by hand. Both ways I get "No package cinelerra available" errors.
From Autoplus:
Code:
Checking programs Completed,Now Running Choice Menu...
Loaded plugins: langpacks, presto, refresh-packagekit
atrpms | 3.5 kB 00:00
Setting up Install Process
No package cinelerra available.
Error: Nothing to do
I also followed the installation instructions from the AutoPlus website and got the same result. I looked at the ATrpm website and all I found was cinelerra-2.1-21_git20101021.src.rpm, Am I doing something wrong, or is there another way to install cinelerra?

View 9 Replies View RelatedAnyone know how to get sound during the editing session of Cinelerra? Any ideas out there?
Looks like no sound in rendered file either! So no sound at all with Cinelerra....
p.s. I have sound working fine with all of my other programs. And working with same files on Kdenlive, Kino or Pitivi, all give me sound no problem. Running a basic Karmic Ubuntu Studio 32bit setup.
how to install cinelerra on 10.04? I need to record a video with sound.

View 8 Replies View Relatedi recently downloaded the Cinelerra Software(not Community version)from [URL].php#download but the problem is : how to compile it.
note : i have ubuntu 10.10
I've installed Ubuntu 10.10 on my harddrive and want to install Cinelerra (CV). I'd followed the steps on there website, but it doesn't seem to work for me. Since they haven't upgraded there version to 10.10, you are stuck with all the old dependencies. I needed to install: libcinelerra. Searched it, but this libary needed libx264-85, which I cannot find in Synaptic. Probably because it is and 10.04 libary. I do have libx264-9x.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI am using Karmic. I just downloaded Cinelerra from sourceforge. Apparently there is no installation, you just run the binary (according to the Readme). The binary is set to be executable (-rwxr-xr-x), but when I double click it in nautilus nothing happens. When I go to the app directory in the terminal and do:

I am trying to adjust some of the prefrences in Cinelerra 2.15CV, however the bottom of the screen is not visible, and I have no resizing options. What I would like to do is adjust the length of images that are inserted into a slideshow using Cinelerra. Right now I have to resize every image by using the drag handle, but It would be easier to do that with one batch function.
I am running Ubuntu 10.10 on a Asus netbook. If I go to System> Preferences > Monitor the largest resolution available is already selected: 1024X600.I have also tried to adjust the different apperances in System>Apperances I made a video of the issue here:

I have installed cinelerra into debian squeeze, and when i run it It seems to open normally, but on going to Settings>preferences the program crashes and must be restarted. I'm not sure if anything else crashes it, as I have been spending all my effort on solving this problem.
I have tried running it from the command line with the same results. it did return some info to the terminal which I will gladly post if it will help. I hesitate to do that as it is quite lengthly.
I am getting this error message in Cinelerra when I try to load up any footage - virtual int FileMOV::read_frame(VFrame*): quicktime_read_frame/quicktime_decode_video failed, result:
Have previously run Cinelerra happily on other Ubuntu installations. I am using 10.04. Am I missing some dependency?
As I'm not familar with the git, I can't download the Source code of cinelerra-CV. who can send me the Source code of cinelerra-cv?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have been messing around with Cinelerra after doing a Final cut pro course some time ago but as it needs to be told what to do more i am finding it hard going. When I have track 1 that has audio and video and also track two has the same then i mute the audio in one and block out the video in then other. Then add effects. It is then moving audio or video around and nothing is in sync anymore. Not where i put things. I undo the effect to see if it will go back but no go. I try to undo to the point where maybe i missed something but nope that is not it. Inevitably i have to redo everything again but then i end up with the whole thing out of sync again. I had a previous install of Ubuntu and Cinelerra and i don't remember striking this problem. Am i not loading the tracks properly. I don't have a good work flow with this and i know i should try something more simple but i am impatient to edit videos i have had for years and years and years. I never did learn editing in windows so i am happy to be getting somewhere in Linux.

I've been looking around all over the place and can't find a way past this. I really want to get it going again, can anyone help?
I've checked in synaptic and I have libfaad2 2.7-4

Normally I say yes and hope for good, but this time... I do not use adobe flash player, but I would still like to watch ..... videos. Would be hard without gnash, right? I use iron portable and iceweasel. Also I use totem a lot, but aptitude seems not being able to resolve this inconsistency automatically. My question is: what would happen, if I just say "y"? gnash is completly away? And is there any way to install newer version of gnash or do whatever to have everything working?
New installation of Suse 11.3. Trying to build Cinelerra-CV from [url]

The source code of Cinelerra-CV is available from a git repository. To get a copy for compilation use the following command
You can modify this working copy, and submit your patches to the mailing list, or ask for your own repo or for permission to push to one of the existing ones.
From the README.BUILD file, you are told to build autoreconf -i.

New installation of Suse 11.3, with a new build of the git repository Cinelerra-CV 4.1 from the [URL] web site instructions.Loaded a 5 second mpg file into Cinelerra, and then tried to play it back in both the viewer and the main window. It does decode the video and play it back, however, the playback speed is not smooth. It jumps, in what look like 1 second intervals, and then it gets really slow towards the end of the playback. By jumps, I mean that it is like the speed of playback is on a curve with bumps on each second. Since this is a new installtion of Cinelerra, it could be some settings that are off, as it has been some time since using Cinelerra. For comparison, the same mpg file plays back fine in Kdenlive, although Kdenlive uses a much smaller playback screen...but it is nice and smooth in terms of playback speed. It also plays fine in Banshee.I did take a look at the Cinelerra html manual, and there was a section on system adjustments that you can make...although I would like to find out what is causing it, and if it is a feature of the Cinelerra build?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI've after an agonizing process of editing I finally finished my video that I was working on. Now it's time to render it, I want to render it to quicktime for linux so that I can encode to mpeg using mencoder as described in the cinelerra docs. Problem is , the movie won't render, it shuts down the process saying render error and that's it.
The docs say that quicktime requires these properties:
Audio option Two Complements 16bits (PCM)
Video option DV
but can't find any place that asks for anything like that setting.
I have a two hours long home video with I edited in a video editor program. I'd like to burn it to DVD, but first I need to export it to an mpeg file. Cinelerra doesn't allow me to render to mpeg, instead it offers .avi or .dv - problem is that the resulting file size is enormous. (i.e. 1 minute of .avi = 1.2GB! or around 500MB when I output to .dv) What file format would be best to render to and at the same time not to get an insanely big file? I'd like to keep it under 1GB if possible.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI am installing Ubuntu Server 10.10 on and old Dell Laptop. The network connection is an Xircom PCMCIA card.During install, the computer sees and interacts via the network just fine. For example, I can ping the gateway. Also, the command "lspcmcia" works and show the Xircom card. When I reboot, however, there is no network access, and the "lspcmcia" command is not there. When I try "lspcmcia" the OS helpfully tells me that I can "apt-get" pcmciautils, but, without network access, that fails.I tried adding the install cdrom to apt using "apt-cdrom" and then tried to "apt-get" pcmciautils and it got further, installing some dependencies, but acted like it still was unable to locate the pcmciautils package.
