View 1 RepliesI have updated to 10.10 and now my ir remote is simulating keyboard arrow keys which is causing problems in applications like Boxee. The weird thing is if I stop lircd it still simulates the keyboard arrow keys.
Does anyone know how to stop the keyboard arrow keys from triggering when the ir remote up, down, left or right buttons are pressed?
(Here are all the IR config files)
hardware.conf
Code:
# /etc/lirc/hardware.conf

I have tried burning media files as data into a DVD (-R). Failed every time. It simulates the burn, and when it starts burning it sometimes ejects the media and at other times just says that it cannot eject the DVD and that it has to be done manually. After the DVD is ejected it errors out.Attaching the log file.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI see there are a lot of other threads on this subject, but I don't find any solution in the other threads. I have been trying to burn cd's directly in Ubuntu, using Brasero, which was already installed. Why does it not work? It says that an "unknown error occurred" or something like that. I don't remember the exact error message right now. I am now burning cd's in "Gnomebaker" which I found in the applications list. This works fine, but only at the speed of 4x, no faster. I hope to get the brasero application to work, as this is the easiest, fastest way, just dragging files to the cd.

When i was adding the folders, brasero poped up a message saying that it need to rename some files to make them windows compatible,i accepted the change and proceed. Everything was looking good, but qhen it tried to burn, brasero said it cannot burn the image and failed. Asked if i want to save the log file and i did it, but it has no info!
I tried diferent combinations to burn the dvd (removing the files that need to be renamed, even i tried to burn the files to a iso image) and alwas fail exactly with te same error in the same step.I instaled the gstreamer packages from packman and all looks good.Any idea whats going on? Also, if someone has the same problem, maybe it's a bug in brasero that needs to be reported: if so, how can i get usefull info to report it?
I am trying to burn a few video files to dvd using brasero, but after the burning process is about half the way through it simply disappears with no error at all. Only the terminal says

How to burn my videos now.
I have tried to burn dvd's using Brasero, after making the dvd etc I choose to burn as a video, but it gets to around 95% of converting the file to MPEG2 or 4 (Tried both) and just sits there doing nothing!I even left it over night to see if that helped but no joy.

I was trying to make a copy of a DVD recently. I started with Brasero, and when that didn't work, I installed k3b. Both came back w/similar symptoms. Neither burned the DVD and seemed to hang up. When either program stopped/hung, I checked on the file that was being captured from the original DVD and discovered that both programs produced a max file of 1.5 GB (source was 6+ GB). I checked the size of the partition where the file was being temporarilty stored and there is 18 GB of space.

Quite a bit of stuff. You can download its full contents. I have no idea what this means and I really would like to make this disk.
I've encountered a problem when trying to burn a video file to DVD using Brasero Disc Burner. I put the DVD and then open up Brasero and click on "video protect" then I chose the video file I want to burn, I click the "burn" button and choose the settings I want then when press the "burn" button once more.
I then get this screen...
It then ejects the DVD and I get this...

Do you know what could be causing this?
Does anyone experience burning problem with Brasero? At first, everything was great, but lately I receive all kind of messages (mounting problem, ejecting problem etc.) and burning is unsuccessful.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI want to have brasero or k3b do a data check after burning a backup cd. I know that in Nero for Windows you just click on the box that says "verify after burning". For brasero I see that you need an md5 file but it will be to tedious to use an md5 utility to make a checksum for every file and then put in in a txt.

View 6 Replies View RelatedI was burning a disc with K3b and it was from an ISO; Burn and verify. Everything went successful, but when I put in my 2nd DVD to burn, K3b doesn't recognize it. On top of that when I right click on the icon of a Blank DVD on my desktop, it doesn't have the Eject Volume option there anymore. Does anybody know what could be going on here? why would my Fedora (11) stop burning and ejecting discs all of a sudden?
also, I tried this with multiple DVDs/drives to see if they were bad DVDs/drives and it's all the same result. Also, since I didn't have the eject option on my desktop I had to eject it with K3b from within the program. There's still a problem though.
edit: Some reason K3b is recognising discs again and is burning again. I guess the restart did it and I don't know why it was acting funny.
I have setup bonded interfaces but I'm not at the machine to pull a cable - is there a way I can simulate a failure - I've had a look at ip/ipconfig without anything obvious.

View 4 Replies View RelatedWe are having a production setup where we are having one SAN storage and two RHEL machines. Now we have created a SAN LUN, say for example trylun. Now we have mounted the same SAN partition on both the machines of RHEL on the same mountpoint path say for example /trylun. After that we have installed RHEL Cluster suite to create a failover cluster.
Now we will be having one Ingres Database service for which data will be stored in SAN storage LUN mounted on both the machine say for example /trylun. When service on one machine will be down then RHEL Cluster Suite failover cluster will takeover and then it will start the same service on another node and handle the failover. Wether Ingres will run from node 1 or node 2 will not make any difference as both are using shared SAN storage i.e /trylun in our example. So same data storage will be used by both the ingres service on both the servers.
Now I have to simulate the same in my office test environment. But the problem is, in office test environment I will not have SAN server as it is additional cost. And I will have fedora operating system.
So I wanted to know is how can we create a shared file system like SAN in fedora (Is NFS a solution). And after creating the shared file system how can we create a failover cluster in fedora if we do not have Red Hat Cluster Suite.
We have a headless linux server (Debian 5) we use for running integration tests of our web-page code. Among these tests are ones implemented using Selenium, which practically simulates a user browsing our pages and clicking on things. One of these tests is failing now, because it involves starting a flash-based audio player and checking to see whether the progress bar gets displayed properly. The reason this test fails is that there is no way to play the audio, and no sound card on the machine, which has simple webserver hardware.
So, my question would be: Is there a simple way of giving a program the impression that its audio output is being processed, and playback is taking place? I don't have to record the playback, or redirect it or anything like that, just a dummy soundcard, like the dummy X-server we are using, which actually does not need to display stuff.
I have tried using JACK, but it's too complicated, and the documentation does not even answer this very simple question. I also installed alsa on the server; it 'pretends' to run, but when a program tries to play audio, just spews error and debug information having to do with the non-existence of a soundcard.
Here's a summary of my problem: When using Skype, it's possible to close the gui of the application only. When doing this, the Skype process itself doesn't close; it hides in gnome-panel's notification-area.
Now, when opening the Skype application again (e.g. by clicking on a Skype launcher), Skype starts a whole new process. This is shown to the user as a new Skype tray icon being generated, as well as a new gui window being created.
What I'd like to do is as follows:
I'd like to replace the Skype launcher with a script that would * recognize if there is a Skype process running if yes, bring up that * instance of Skype if not, start Skype normally
Now, I've read some of the source code of gnome-panel to try and see how it's done. From what I've gathered, a button_press_event is bound to some function that probably (am unsure of this) sends a signal of some kind to Skype.

I have a freshly installed 10.04 ubuntu, but brasero is not starting, what could be the reason? I started it with the option to show errors, but it didn't show any, it just didn't start.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI've previously been able to copy CDs using Brasero. Now when I try, the program will copy the disk, but instead of pausing to allow you to insert the destination disk, it will simply eject the disk and then quit. I can copy disks by selecting 'copy to image' and then burning the image, but this is a pain.
