Sometimes a site gets a new URL, or simply is discontinued.
I notice this when opening a bookmark of mine.
So I wonder if there is a way to delete the corresponding bookmark entry? Without having to go to bookmark manager?
I am thinking of a pressing a button that does:
Delete any and all bookmarks to this domain.
After I had upgraded to 10.10, Firefox was at first running smoothly, but later it would no longer connect/open any given site. (could not connect to server). I the de-installed and new installed Firefox and it worked fine again for a while but then the same problem returned. I then completely removed Firefox and all packages pertaining to it, and then made a new install of the basic Firefox browser (same problem), then started adding one by one the other "Ubuntu" packages in synaptic for firefox, but the problem remains. I am currently using Chromium (which runs well and extremely fast) but I would like to have Firefox back

Invoke from Linux command line:

Complete entries in the pop up:

When I go to a bookmark, right click, instead of an option to open in a new tab...it directly opens the page. Has anyone else experienced this ? Do you think this is a bug in the new Firefox ? Or is this designed this way ?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI've had a minor, yet potentially embarrassing bug in Firefox 3.0.x for many months in Ubuntu 9.04, and just recently also experienced it with a fresh install of 9.10 with Firefox 3.5.x. Basically what happens is that occasionally a favicon will incorrectly be associated with a bookmark until I visit the bookmarked web site again. And these will be favicons from websites that I do not have bookmarked. Normally I wouldn't care. But if I was surfing porn, sometimes the porn site favicon would show up on one of bookmarks. Which could cause a bit of embarrassment. LOL
It turns out through a bit of sheer luck, I discovered that the problem seemed to be a bug in the "Tab Mix Plus" Firefox add-on. Since I only wanted that add-on for it's last tab selected feature, I un-installed it and installed a much more light weight and simple add-on called "LastTab" to recreate that functionality. And I have yet to have this problem since then. I suppose it's possible that it could be an interaction problem between add-ons. So just for completeness of information, here's a list of all my add-ons prior to un-installing Tab Mix Plus and installing LastTab.

I am puzzled by this really weird issue that involves Mozilla Firefox 3.6.8. When I add a bookmark (doesn't matter where I add it, could be to the field or to the menu) followed by exiting Firefox and then starting again, nothing happens. The process firefox gets listed with 'ps aux | grep fire' but the program itself doesn't appear, as if it hung before it could get to the display. However, when I remove ~/.mozilla (or rename it) Firefox starts up again nicely. I can only assume that the problem has to do with bookmarks (which is really odd..).

I've uninstalled and reinstalled Firefox but the issue persists. I've tried this when running Gnome, Openbox, and xfce.

First off, I have been having disk error problems with Ubuntu, and I think that a file that involves the bookmarks was corrupted. I did remove and reinstall the latest firefox package with Synaptic and apt-get (they do the same thing right?) But I still have this problem: I can not add or modify my bookmarks in the toolbar. I can go to the window to organize my bookmarks but its like nothing is there on the left main view box or the right that shows the bookmarks. If I try to import or restore, it does nothing.
I used to be able to watch Streaming Video from this site (It flowed continuously):and now that I have upgraded the speed of my DSL Internet Connection from 512kbps to 1 MBPS the video no longer flows. My problem with Video Streaming is only with the above site, all other similar web sites work perfectly. I have spoken to my internet service provider and they say there is no problem with my connection.The web site is a 24 hour news media site from Australia and contains no offensive material.

I've discovered that after restoring my site's backup this has happened to me again. How to delete the hacked /home/crocbits directory so that I can restore the backup under the same username. When I try to delete /home/crocbits I get this message when logged in as root:

At 1 of the computers I have a problem with a certain internet site. Maybe other sites give problems too, but I'm not aware of that. I get this problem with the following site [URL] At the other computers the site is interactive. Normally you could enter an address on the left and also place markers on the map at the right. On the other computers everything works fine. But on this certain computer, the site still indicates that it is loading, and nothing else happens.
I uninstalled flash, firefox, and java. I also remove the folders .mozilla, and .macromedia, restarted the computer, and installed firefox again. Then I installed macromedia flash and java. But when I started that certain site, the problem exists. At last, I installed Google Chromium. With this browser everything works fine.
I have installed a CLI ubuntu system and then installed gnome-session and all the applications I needed. Yesterday I have installed Firefox 6. Addons added are :flashblock, adblock + and noscript addons. Now the weird thing is that today while navigating on this site: [URL]. I get Godaddy Page.

I used the Wubi installer so it's on Windows (just to see if I liked Ubuntu) and it works fine, but with one exception: the internet (or maybe just Firefox) isn't working. The internet connection worked just fine on XP. On Ubuntu, it says that it was able to connect to the wireless network, but when I try to go to any page on Firefox it just keeps trying to load perpetually and never connects to the site, eventually just showing the "Server not found" page.

Other ideas are welcomed. Thing is: when I click the FF icon I access to ff5, and there are a number of aps that are not compatible, thus, my need to keep using ff4. The Telegraph online, BBC News...) this happens no matter what the zoom level is set to. Chromium renders all these pages normally.

I use Firefox 3.5.9 and Ubuntu 9.10.
There is a suspicious amount of data (more than a megabyte) being uploaded from my computer whenever I log onto a commercial web site on which I advertise rental properties.
Is there any way I can see the data being uploaded - I am pretty familiar with the Unix/Linux system and commands.
I seem to be having some problems with the clipboard. If I copy something in firefox, then quit out of firefox, the thing I copied no longer exists. I don't think this used to happen, I'm sure I would have noticed before now.

View 3 Replies View Relatedhave a f11 load running right now on my box and recently, for some reason completely unknown to me, all of the sights (such as videos) that embed .flv files have stopped working. i can see where the videos should be displayed and i can see all of the adverts for the other videos that they would like for me to watch instead of and/or next, but i get a big blank hole where the actual vid should be. i have some .flv files i have snagged over the years stored on my hdd and i can still play those with my installed totem player, which seems to be what is listed as the default plugin for firefox for such files.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI'm having an issue changing the flash plug to display flash. I clean installed 10.04 a week ago, upgraded to to the closed source adobe plugin, and everything was great. However, a day ago, I had an issue with one site, and I decided to switch back to the default swfdec player. Since that time I have not been able to switch back to adobe. Every time I attempt to, firefox complains that adobe is already installed. Even if I remove the adobe flash plugin via synaptic and allow firefox to reinstall it, it still uses swfdec.
