Ubuntu :: No Longer Send Link After The Update Of Firefox?
Apr 27, 2010
Immediately after the update of Firefox I can no longer send a link.Previous to the update, I would simply click file, then send link. Now nothing happens. My present version of Firefox is Namoroka
Ubuntu 10.4 -- all updatesFirefox 3.6.12Thunderbird 3.0.10File > Send linkDoes not work. It use to.Is this a known issue with the latest updates? Is there a workaround other than cut & paste?
Since I upgraded to Firefox 3.6.8, when I click on a link in Thunderbird 3.1.1, nothing happens!! Right-clicking on a link and selecting "Open Link in Browser" does not work either. Any idea what might be the cause of this annoying problem?
I just recently installed F13 with Thunderbird 3.0.4 and Firefox 3.6.3 and have noticed that when I click on an embedded web link in a message that it no longer switches app windows to FireFox. On F12 if I did the above the focus would switch to Firefox once a new tab was opened and the site was accessed. Now the focus remains on the message and the tab for Firefox on the bottom panel just flashes. Is there a way to get the old behaviour back? I've checked both apps preferences as well as gnome's preferred apps but nothing changes. I am using the same profile folders from F12 as well as all of my app settings in /home.
I was looking for live link to download ubuntu mobile but unfortunately I don't find anything... Can someone send me a link for download and a link with the installation instructions ?? All the links that I found are dead.
I am running Debian Squeeze with the following basic services running:DNS DHCP Samba Squid
The server is setup with three NICs: eth0 (WAN1), eth1 (WAN2), and eth2 (LAN).The server addresses clients with an IP range of 10.0.30.1 - 10.0.30.254. Some clients will be set with reservations so they fall into the 10.0.40.1 - 254 range.
What I want to do is have any outgoing external traffic coming from the first range (10.0.30.0) to use WAN link 1, and any outgoing external traffic coming from the second range (10.0.40.0) to use WAN link 2.
I have sort of got something working. I have created a bare minimum transparent squid3 setup on port 3128, and set the iptables as follows:
I can get internet access, however obviously it only goes through one WAN link. It also seems slower than it should be. I experimented with tcp_outgoing_address, but seemed to not be my friend.
I have many bindings on the control key. I cannot ctrl-click to open a new tab now. How do I change which modifier to use? I do not want to change the accelkey globally, only for opening a link in a new tab!
OS: CentOS 5.4 x64 I give up. How do I get Java to work with 64 bit Firefox (yes Java is installed)?
in 32 bit, it is <code>ln -s /usr/java/latest/plugin/i386/ns7/libjavaplugin_oji.so /usr/lib/mozilla/plugins/.</code> I can not even find a libjavaplugin_oji.so in x64!
I seem to be having some problems with the clipboard. If I copy something in firefox, then quit out of firefox, the thing I copied no longer exists. I don't think this used to happen, I'm sure I would have noticed before now.
have a f11 load running right now on my box and recently, for some reason completely unknown to me, all of the sights (such as videos) that embed .flv files have stopped working. i can see where the videos should be displayed and i can see all of the adverts for the other videos that they would like for me to watch instead of and/or next, but i get a big blank hole where the actual vid should be. i have some .flv files i have snagged over the years stored on my hdd and i can still play those with my installed totem player, which seems to be what is listed as the default plugin for firefox for such files.
I have this little problem with my keyboard. When in Firefox, I have to ctrl+click a link about three times before there is any reaction and a new tab is opened with that link. There is not much chance that there is some physical impediment in the keyboard because all of my other keyboard shortcuts involving ctrl work fine, and I have disassembled and cleaned the keyboard on my netbook (eeepc 1008ha).
I installed firefox 3.6 from the firefox-stable ppa repository and I noticed that the location bar autocomplete stops working after opening an external link (e.g. clicking a link in evolution or empathy). The problem still occurs when starting firefox in safemode, so it doesn't appear to be related to a misbehaving extension. The problem is only fixed with a browser restart or when I open and then close 'show all history'.
I'm having an issue changing the flash plug to display flash. I clean installed 10.04 a week ago, upgraded to to the closed source adobe plugin, and everything was great. However, a day ago, I had an issue with one site, and I decided to switch back to the default swfdec player. Since that time I have not been able to switch back to adobe. Every time I attempt to, firefox complains that adobe is already installed. Even if I remove the adobe flash plugin via synaptic and allow firefox to reinstall it, it still uses swfdec.
I am a Linux Distro user from 2006. Last year till i am using openSUSE 11.3. Recently i get a problem, When i enter a link My Firefox redirect to iwsearch.net (Infoweb). I install it few days ago. I this its my Browser (Firefox) problem! But I install Opera, Chrome no change same problem. This is very annoying. Too much pain for me. How to remove iwsearch.net.
Also another request to openSUSE Network Manager developers, Please add a options on Wired Connection. The options is Original MAC and Cloned MAC like Ubuntu 10.10 (Gnome), But i need it on KDE, because now i fall in love to KDE. So, i need (i think most of users need) MAC cloned systems, My ISP conection is MAC systems. Pain for change from Command mood I don't like to change from Konsol. We have two Wimax provider- banglalionwimax.com and qubee.com.bd , We are whole Linux user in this Bangladesh can't using USB modem, only Support Gigaset Modem. Its Indoor modem. But USB modem is portable and flexible. Please its hard request do something for USB modems.
I am running KDE 3.5 Hardy Ubuntu and have encountered an odd window switch to new window view problem. When I click to open a web link in any Thunderbird email it will open Firefox but it stays on the current Thunderbird window. I have to manually click the FF on the task bar to switch and view it. Maybe it's a focus issue....not sure what focus really means. It also seems to do the same with other programs too.
I routinely use Firefox's quick find feature. I press the slash key, /, type what I want to find on the page and it searches as I type. I love it. It's very convenient. But it doesn't work anywhere on this page.
After I had upgraded to 10.10, Firefox was at first running smoothly, but later it would no longer connect/open any given site. (could not connect to server). I the de-installed and new installed Firefox and it worked fine again for a while but then the same problem returned. I then completely removed Firefox and all packages pertaining to it, and then made a new install of the basic Firefox browser (same problem), then started adding one by one the other "Ubuntu" packages in synaptic for firefox, but the problem remains. I am currently using Chromium (which runs well and extremely fast) but I would like to have Firefox back
I got an error during the upgrade but chose to let the upgrade complete. Now my Firefox won't lauch. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling it from the Terminal and got the following:Quote:
After about a week of successful running Xubuntu 10.10 off a live USB Firefox suddenly fails to work with the message "Firerfox can't find the server" Opening the error terminal in firefox yielded the message "Livemark Service: feed processor recieved an invalid channel for http://fxfeeds.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/headlines.xml"
Recently I have installed Fedora 10. It comes with firefox 3.xx by default. Now I was wondering if there is any way through which i can update it to 3.5 version though yum. I have tried yum update firefox but it did not work and returns following messages Loaded plugins: refresh-packagekit Setting up Update Process No Packages marked for Update I know that one way to update is download the latest Tar package and use it, but I want to totally remove my previous installation and use solely one package i.e. firefox 3.5.
After several site:centos.org searches on Google and not finding anything remotely related to this question, I ask, how do I update Firefox 3.0 to Firefox 3.5 without losing any of my settings, history, bookmarks ,etc.?
I am having a problem with the latest update of lucid ubuntu. I was on 10.04 for the longest time but decided to update while I was out doing errands. When I got back the logon screen was made up of blue and gray windows on a completely black background and the mouse and keyboard wouldn't work!
I found that if I unplugged and then replugged my mouse that I could get it working, but not all the options work properly. When you try to close a menu it just stays up, but it isn't there at the same time. Also, the shutdown/restart options don't work along with the physical power button on my computer, I have to remove the battery and power cord to shut it down.
I am currently dual booting ubuntu and windows 7 on my gateway NV59 laptop.
I have a pc at work with 9.04 on it and when I try to use the update manager it says that it is no longer supported. how do i upgrade to the newest version?
After running an update in my 10.04 installation, both cdrom drives are not recognized anymore and won't even open when i push the eject button. Also, a 2TB storage drive is not recognized any longer and the computer won't even boot if that drive is plugged in..
when I want to update my system I notice some grayed out packages in the repository..u can know exactly what I'm talking abt with this pic:[URL]I want to know why those are gray and un-selectable and how to fix/select them for update if any (I want to have better knowledge of how ubuntu/linux works)
I just did latest update and I get the following error message "The repository may no longer be available or could not be contacted because of network problems. If available an older version of the failed index will be used. Otherwise the repository will be ignored. Check your network connection and ensure the repository address in the preferences is correct. Failed to fetch [URL] 404 Not Found. Some index files failed to download, they have been ignored, or old ones used instead."
I noticed a red triangle at the top right of my screen today and I've been trying to sort out the problem. is says "update information is outdated" I used the update like it suggested but get this error msg. I'm new to ubuntu/linux so explain in simple terms: "Could not download all repository indexes. The repository may no longer be available or could not be contacted because of network problems. If available an older version of the failed index will be used. Otherwise the repository will be ignored. Check your network connection and ensure the repository address in the preferences is correct. [URL].. 404 Not Found Some index files failed to download, they have been ignored, or old ones used instead."
10.04 was connecting to wireless on boot up without a problem. After updating, it can no longer do it. I have to click on the wireless icon (which has an exclamation mark through it) and connect to hidden. I can then choose my wireless profile and am asked for my elevated privileges password. Once supplied, the connection is made.I presume the encryption password is 'locked' now at boot.
