Sometimes a site gets a new URL, or simply is discontinued.
I notice this when opening a bookmark of mine.
So I wonder if there is a way to delete the corresponding bookmark entry? Without having to go to bookmark manager?
I am thinking of a pressing a button that does:
Delete any and all bookmarks to this domain.

I have some big sqlite3 databases in ~/.mozilla/firefox/profilename Notably places.sqlite (12 MB) and urlclassifier3.sqlite (33 MB). Is it possible to truncate them and wipe out the oldest records in them? Of course I could just wipe them completely, but that's not my goal - I just want to minimize the size of those files while keeping the newest records.

OS: fed 12
WM: gnome
I would like to remove OR move down the "create folder, launcher etc" so the first button can be Open Terminal. I have used both NACT and nautilus-actions to get the Open Terminal on the menu - but I would like it to be on the top (old habit).

I am running Ubuntu, and I was wondering if there are any settings that I can change in order to remove to make it so that users of the computer cannot delete the history in Firefox without a password. I am even willing to switch to another Internet browser if necessary.

I know this is a minor nuance and it doesn't effect usability at all but it still bugs me. I was using gnome on Ubuntu and decided to install KDE. KDE didn't work properly and so I uninstalled it. But now Firefox still has the KDE font and I can't figure out for the life of me how to change it back. I've had this problem before on another computer and I can't remember if I fixed it on there or not.

I am running into a weird problem: Firefox 4's new layout loads and appears just fine in Unity, however when I login using Ubuntu Classic (Gnome 2.3) Firefox goes back to its old pre-firefox 4 layout: the menu bar still shows and the tabs don't appear in the title bar.

I just installed Gnome Do and for the most part, it works great!
The only problem is that it does not search my Firefox bookmarks. Every other search seems to work just fine. I ran Do in a terminal and this is what came up:
(Do:13821): Wnck-CRITICAL **: wnck_set_client_type got called multiple times.
Firefox.PlacesItemSource "Firefox Places" encountered an error in UpdateItems: System.NullReferenceException: Object reference not set to an instance of an object
at Mono.Data.SqliteClient.SqliteDataReader.GetString (Int32 i) [0x00000]
at Firefox.PlacesItemSource+<LoadPlaceItems>c__Iterat or3.MoveNext () [0x00000]
[Code]....
After that, I went in a disabled the Firefox plug in and ran it again and the only alert was the "Wnck-CRITICAL" message, which seems to always be there.
I am running 10.04, with Compiz.

For a while now, firefox has been prompting gnome-keyring (twice)
There is one applet i know of on my system that wants me to enter my keyring pw twice "CPU Frequency Scaling Monitor" (i have a core2-duo cpu, a monitor for each cpu), but i have no clue why ff would be invoking a change in how ubuntu controls that app.
Is there any way of finding out, which application (or perhaps an add-on?) is actually asking for my keyring-pw (the input window just says "an application..." not like e.g. "synaptic package manager...".

I have my 10.04 set up with english (us and gb) as well as spanish languages installed.
I have firefox 3.6.3 compiled and installed for a 64 bit system. The firefox source code comes only with en-US locale, so I obtained en-GB.jar and es-ES.jar (as well as their manifests) from firefox.com and added them manually to my chrome directory.
This had worked in the past, when I'd logout and switch the gnome locale to es-ES firefox would come up in es-ES etc, but for some reason firefox will only start up in en-US now.
How can I fix this to match the desired behaviour?

Firefox 4 becomes completely unresponsive for about 5 seconds. It seems to be happening mostly but not exclusively when switching tabs. At first I thought the problem was flash related but I was wrong, it happens regardless of the pages contents. Also, the problem seems to be more frequent as more tabs are open. It's interesting that it happens only on my computer at work (Intel Q33) but not at home (NVidia GTX 570). Both computers run Fedora 15 with Gnome 3 (HW accelerated). I also tried starting in fallback mode but the problem remained.

I know that the ordinary FF works fine without this, but are there any real advantages to FF w/ Gnome support? Package firefox-gnome-support-dbg says:
Quote:
This is an extension to Firefox that allows it to use protocol handlers from GnomeVFS, such as smb or sftp, and other GNOME integration features.

Noticed this last night, when I try and launch either Firefox or Thunderbird using the GNOME menu or the quick launch icons, it fails. I am able to launch them both from the command line in a terminal. Other applications seem to launch fine, so I'm at a bit of a loss where to begin taking this apart... I do get a task in the task bar that says "Launching Firefox", but then nothing comes up. The same thing happens with Thunderbird. That task just goes away. Another odd thing - following a reboot the launch buttons work once. If I close them, they won't launch again unless I run them from a terminal window.

When I right-click on firefox, the menu that appears is sometimes quite long depending on where on the screen I click, and usually the top option dissappears under that top Panel of Gnome shell, so that I have to guess and click on the panel to get an "Open in New Tab" (which is usually my first option.) Is there a way to make it remain within the visible area or something? I'm on Fedora 15 64-bit.

Somehow I manged to mess up my firefox menu fonts.I'm running ubuntu 10.04, updated as of this posting's date. Please see the attached picture of FF (ugly, thin, menu font) alongside OpenOffice (normal menu font) on the same gnome desktop. Interestingly, FF looks little better on the screenshot than it does on my monitor. Something is seriously wrong.
Symptoms:It is only the FF menus that are affected, not the content of the pages that load, or the menu I get when I click on the window title bar (Maximise, Minimise .... Close)
No other applications are affected - all their menus are normal.
No other users are affected - their FF has normal menu fonts. So I am thinking it has to be some file in ~ that is messing this up.
I liked KDE3, but it seems that is history now, and KDE4 is not for me, so I moved to gnome. I am still getting used to it, but it's functional. All was well until I installed the KDE4 desktop, because I thought I'd "give it another try". I logged into KDE4 and ran it under my own username. I managed to open firefox, but that was about it. I logged out because although KDE4 is pretty, it's still useless for my needs. So I went back to gnome, and that's when the problem with FF first appeared. My mouse-pointer cursor has also changed. Instead of a "clockface" spinning when something is waiting, I now have two small circles orbiting an invisible point. No big deal, though it might be relevant.
