I'm rather new to linux and I am trying to set up two linux servers to do MySQL replication. I believe to do this you need to have a file called my.cnf in /etc/ but this file isn't there I have tried un-installing and installing MySQL many times but this file still doesn't appear.
I recently set up replication on a production server and some rows are not making it to the tables on the slave. After 3 days I can see 200+ entries (of 161,000~) that are on the master and not the slave. Logs under /var/log including mysqld.log, mysql.status, messages do not show any problem.I have already tried dropping the DB on the slave and setting up the replication again by doing a stop slave, set slave options such as were in the logging to start, drop table, restore the dump previously made by the master, start slave, but the issue persists.
I following the documentation on the MySQL site for setting up replication so I'm not sure why this is having issues. What can I do to investigate and fix this?
I am using vmware player, operating system is ubuntu. I have just installed the apache httpd-2.2.19. I am using the manual method. ./configure, make, make install. No error message.
When i run ubuntu, it gets into the terminal. From here, how do I know if my apache web server is properly installed?
I have a RHEL5 machine having mysql5.0.22 is installed in it. i also installed java through "jdk-1_5_0_19-linux-i586.bin" package, and its version is 1.5.0_19. I am trying to check if any JDBC driver for Mysql Server is installed on my system . How can I do this? If any driver is already installed How can I get the file path for those driver files? is it comes along with jdk packages? As i am not a programmer, and does't know more about jdbc.
I have just installed joomla and proceeded to do the web install. Got the interface up and running and its now complaining it does not see the mysql server running. I do in fact have it running. Veryfied it with mysql command on command line and it complained with missing attributes.
I read a thread that it needs php-mysql installed. So went to proceed to install it. Well, I did not have that and went to install it. Verified it. Package mysql-server-5.0.77-3.el5.i386 already installed and latest version
I then did a service mysql reset.
Checked back at the joomla web install interface and still, it says there is no mysql support! What is next? Im running centos OS. Also, I am running LAMP
Been working with this problem for over a week now and has come to a dead end, I have installed pureFTPD with MySQL on Debian 5 Lenny 64bit. My problem is I can't login with the users in the sql-database, but for some strange reason, I'm allowed to loggin as anonymous. Unix users can't login either.
I have followed the guide on: [URL]..
- Created a ftpgroup and ftpuser. - Created a database ftpd - Created a user vhosts and given access to ftpd db My configurations files /etc/pure-ftpd/auth/30mysql Code: /etc/pure-ftpd/db/mysql.conf /etc/pure-ftpd/db/mysql.conf
I think this goes here, but I'm not sure. I decided that XAMPP had been troublesome enough. MySQL never worked. So I decided to instal the LAMP stack offered by YaST. I went about installing it thinking that it would all work. But it seems that I was wrong. So I try to start mysql, and here's what I get:
Code: the-matrix:~ # mysql start ERROR 2002 (HY000): Can't connect to local MySQL server through socket '/var/mysql/mysql.sock' (2) or Code: the-matrix:~ # rcmysql start Starting service MySQL warning: /var/mysql/mysql.sock didn't appear within 30 seconds chmod: cannot access `/var/run/mysql/mysqld.pid': No such file or directory
i am using liferay5.2(mysql included in the download pack) on fedora. while liferay is working fine but i cannot connect to mysql.i am getting the error
[ [root@localhost ~]# ln -s /var/lib/mysql/mysql.sock /tmp [root@localhost ~]# /etc/init.d/mysqld start Timeout error occurred trying to start MySQL Daemon.
[code]....
i didnt find the mysql.sock file in the location /var/lib/mysql/mysql.sock. i cannot find the portal-ext.properties file also to make intial settings.
I have an mysql innodb ~ 20gigs. Normally shutting down mysql (service mysql stop) takes a few seconds. When I reboot Ubuntu with the reboot or shutdown command it just reboots it super fast without mysql logging (/usr/sbin/mysqld: Shutdown complete) Also during this shutdown the following is failed: umount2: device or resource busy /data: device is busy.
mysql is setup to read from /data . Why is ubuntu not waiting for mysql to properly shutdown before unmounting the filesystem and rebooting?
How would I edit the files, for this under slackware with permissions for my other users to use it? I have been following the guide, and I have not gotten far. I have created the recommend mythtv user and have mythtv installed. Also should I switch to 64bit slackware for this project? I have 1 gig of ddr2 ram, 64 bit capable pentium 4 ht cpu clocked at 3Ghz, 80gigabyte internal hard drive, and I have a wintv card.
I have installed Mysql in Ubuntu 9, for the use of roundcube database. After installing iam getting the error like this
* Stopping MySQL database server mysqld [ OK ] * Starting MySQL database server mysqld [ OK ] * Checking for corrupt, not cleanly closed and upgrade needing tables.
So because of this in the roundcube configuration its giving the error message that MYSQL is not installed. So Kindly give me a idea how to solve this.
I'm having problems connecting to the mysql database on my system. I first noticed this when I was trying to set up the program anymeal. I subsequently tried using MySQL Administrator (mysql-admin), but had no luck. It gives my the following feedback:
Code:
Can't connect to local MySQL server through socket '/var/run/mysqld/mysqld.sock' (2)
Click the 'Ping' button to see if there is a networking problem. I press the ping button, and it seems to connect.
I've been attempting to set up a LAMP for local web development, which meant installing mysql-server. But now have a problem when trying to run mysql, I get:-
ERROR 2002 (HY000): Can't connect to local MySQL server through socket '/var/lib/mysql/mysql.sock' (2)
When trying to downgrade mysql-server I saw that there are dependency problems between the various modules (but can't recall which). But whichever route I truied the results are always the same.
Thought about trying XAMPP but I note that even has it's problems, is there any way I can get a lamp set up on FC14, or must I give it up as a bad job.
Howver, just been trying to again to fix the problems with downgrading mysql and get:-
I'm trying to setup wordpress on my server, which of course I need mysql for. I setup a database the other day, which worked perfectly, but I had to start again as I put some information in wrong. Now, I can create a database fine, but when I run
Code: GRANT ALL ON wordpress.* TO wordpress@localhost IDENTIFIED BY "password"; I get the output:
I have MySQL 5.1.34 and PHP 5.1.6 installed on my system, how do I install php-mysql? Each time I try, it says
mysql-5.0.45-7.el5.i386 from base has depsolving problems -- > mysql conflicts with mysql-server-community error: mysql conflicts with mysql-server-community
I seem to have an issue with my nvidia drivers again.I get them working, then the next lot of updates to fedora seems to revert any progress I've made.Currently I can't run any 3d accelerated applications, no wine, no games etc, I have followed the documentation, installed the driver, added the blackist to noveau into boot.conf, and restarted
I'm running Ubuntu 10.10 64bit and have Virtualbox (not OSE)with Windows 7 64bit installed. I am unable to get my Zune 80 to sync with the Zune software as an error comes up when I plug in my Zune saying that the device driver was not properly installed. I have tried reinstalling the Zune software and that didn't help either
I used the "sudo apt-get" command to install kile editor today. When the installation is finished I opened kile from the terminal and checked that it is working fine. But once I open kile, the following message appears:
[Code]....
I am worried if everything got installed properly. Also, Application>Office> is not listing kile. Therefore, I suspect that there has been some problem
I have Ubuntu 9.10 installed on my virtual box and gpg (GnuPG) 1.4.9, anyways I am trying gpg encryption. And for some reasons I can't make it work. I tried example from=asics/gpg.html and also followed steps in net/linux-tuto...-tutorial.html but when I tried the encryption syntax using
Code: gpg -e -r <name> <file> there's a prompt like this:
How can I really, really remove everything related to mysql / mysql-server. I read and tried all kinds of things, but on every reinstall there is still old mysql stuff there, for example an existing password. Even resetting the password does not help.
Reason of removal: it looks like the mysql setup is really corrupt, so I want to remove, and then do a fresh install. Running Ubuntu 11.04 64-bit
sander@R540:~$ sudo apt-get purge mysql-server Reading package lists... Done Building dependency tree Reading state information... Done Package mysql-server is not installed,
I installed mediawiki the other day and went with the default innodb option. However a week later something went wrong. And since I have scripts that nightly backup /var/ I just copied the backup of /var/lib/mysql/wikidb/ (as I've done with MyISAM). Then when I connect the wikidb database. I can see the tables (via "show tables"), but when I do any query with them (check table X, select * from X) I get:
Code:
Table 'wikidb.X' doesn't exist I've since read that can can't just copy the database directory like MyISAM, and there appears to be no way that I can find to restore or fix Innodb, without a dump of the data. And I never got a chance to do a mysqldump of the data. So has anybody got any idea how I can at least view the "page" table from the files I've backed up in /var/lib/mysql/wikidb/ ?
I just configured a complete Cent OS 5.2 system for use as a web server. I can configure Apache and PHP but MySQl seems to be causing some issues -
[mysqld] datadir=/var/lib/mysql socket = /var/lib/mysql/mysql.sock user=mysql # Default to using old password format for compatibility with mysql 3.x # clients (those using the mysqlclient10 compatibility package).
I have an hp pavilion 15-b106ed with UEFI. I disabled secure boot and installed debian jessie form the CD1 iso (RC1 installer) burned to an USB key. Installation went smoothly, but after rebooting I get grub's terminal-like screen saying:
"GNU GRUB version 2.02 beta2-9ubuntu1. Minimal BASH-like line editing is supported... etc"
The problem is that as soon as I turn on the computer that grub screen shows up and I can't boot from USB anymore nor access the BIOS settings, no matter how fast I press F9, F10 and such. I guess I have to tell him to boot from the USB using the grub terminal...
I installed debian and want to install compiz (properly).Read this thread Compiz and followed the instruction to install the packages. It mentions xorg.conf which does not exist where it tells me to look.I can type "compiz --replace" and it does do something but all the window borders disappear. I tried compiz setting manager - still same problem. And no visual effects (presumably due to missing xorg.conf)
After installing 11.4/LXDE which comes with FF 4 Beta, The openSUSE Flash Plugin package was automatically installed, but doesn't seem to be installed into FF properly. When FF > Addons is opened, no Flash plugin is listed. If you then attempt to install install Flash from Adobe, Adobe doesn't seem to recognize FF 4 as a supported browser.
On top of that, if you visit the nVidia site to explore OEM display drivers, their site is Flash driven and won't permit driver searching, must less browsing and possible downloading. This was important to me to try to obtain the OEM nVidia Configuration Manager which vastly enhances display management, particularly on the somewhat lean LXDE desktop.
I installed Ubuntu 9.10 desktop x86 on my macbook pro, I selected erase and use entire harddisk, after install, I restarted, but there is only a flashing question mark on a gray background screen, if I press option when power on, I can select a disk called "windows", then it boots into ubuntu, I wonder what is the problem?
I am using CentOS5 and installed the MySQL for server during the installation. I can set up and use MySQL databases. But I cannot make it startup everytime the server restarts. And quite a lot of methods need this folder "support-files/mysql.server", while my set up cannot find this. I am wondering if my installation of the MySQL for server is complete or not.
Mysql is installed and I have checked it on three places to make sure it is. I tried to start the service or start mysql but no luck I can't find it anywhere and I cannot get it to run. It is also not under /etc/init.d
My monitor kept powering down after 20 minutes so I installed Gnome-power-manager by yum so that I could change the settings. After the installation and every time I try to use it I get a message saying:
Quote:
Install problem!
The configuration defaults for Gnome Power Manager have not installed correctly. Please contact your computer administrator
I'm now unable to effect a change in the power settings and the display keeps turning off.
1) Is someone able to post their config file from a working F12 install? I believe it's /etc/dbus-1/system.d/gnome-power-manager.conf but not certain as I don't have one ;-)
2) ~/.gconf/apps/gnome-power-manager/%gconf.xml is empty - is it empty for someone with a working install?
3) how I can change the power settings without the gui - I'm googling on this point and will post the answer as and when I find it.
Code: [ecvej@desktop ~]$ uname -r 2.6.31.5-127.fc12.x86_64 Edit: In case it is relevant, this is the contents of my /etc/gconf/gconf.xml.system/%gconf-tree.xml
