Server :: Check If Any JDBC Driver For Mysql Server Is Installed On System
Oct 4, 2010
I have a RHEL5 machine having mysql5.0.22 is installed in it. i also installed java through "jdk-1_5_0_19-linux-i586.bin" package, and its version is 1.5.0_19. I am trying to check if any JDBC driver for Mysql Server is installed on my system . How can I do this? If any driver is already installed How can I get the file path for those driver files? is it comes along with jdk packages? As i am not a programmer, and does't know more about jdbc.
I have developed a small website using jspx pages. Now i want to host the website to a server which is a linux machine. The linux machine which i m referring to is already hosting some web pages(jspx) through a web server Which is running at port 8888.My first question would be "How would i check which web server is installed in the server?"Due to my little knowledge about linux machine .I have copied some simple html pages to /var/ www/ html location. The pages are getting accessed correctly on port number 80.But how would i go about hosting jspx pages.
from nmap localhost | grep mysql command i will come to know whether mysql server is running or not.my problem is i want to test whether mysql server is running or not in shell script and if it is running i need to tell the user to stop the server to run the shell script.
I'm running zoneminder on Ubuntu 9.10 Even with a UPS the power quite often fails enough that I need to drive over bring home the computer and run ( mysqlcheck --all-databases --auto-repair -p ) Then enter my user PW then my Mysql PW. Both are the same. How ever if it were possible to create a script that could run at start up I could get anyone to cycle the power and let it fix it's self.
When I installed CentOS v5, I declined the FTP server that cane with it because I have used and prefer ProFTPd. Now I'm not so sure what's running. How do I check what FTP is installed and / or running? ALSO there seem to be TWO ProFTPd conf files, one at:
[code]...
They have different content. Which is the one that is being used?
I'm rather new to linux and I am trying to set up two linux servers to do MySQL replication. I believe to do this you need to have a file called my.cnf in /etc/ but this file isn't there I have tried un-installing and installing MySQL many times but this file still doesn't appear.
I have just installed joomla and proceeded to do the web install. Got the interface up and running and its now complaining it does not see the mysql server running. I do in fact have it running. Veryfied it with mysql command on command line and it complained with missing attributes.
I read a thread that it needs php-mysql installed. So went to proceed to install it. Well, I did not have that and went to install it. Verified it. Package mysql-server-5.0.77-3.el5.i386 already installed and latest version
I then did a service mysql reset.
Checked back at the joomla web install interface and still, it says there is no mysql support! What is next? Im running centos OS. Also, I am running LAMP
Been working with this problem for over a week now and has come to a dead end, I have installed pureFTPD with MySQL on Debian 5 Lenny 64bit. My problem is I can't login with the users in the sql-database, but for some strange reason, I'm allowed to loggin as anonymous. Unix users can't login either.
I have followed the guide on: [URL]..
- Created a ftpgroup and ftpuser. - Created a database ftpd - Created a user vhosts and given access to ftpd db My configurations files /etc/pure-ftpd/auth/30mysql Code: /etc/pure-ftpd/db/mysql.conf /etc/pure-ftpd/db/mysql.conf
I'm running a linux cloud server with the following config 1.2ghz Processor allocation 752MB Ram
The site loads slow and clicking a link almost freezes the page for a second. Also, the page loads could be much faster. We've been running mysqltuner and have pretty much optimized all slow queries. Is there anything we can do to fine tune the server for faster and more responsive?
I'm using dovecot pop3 server in my website. I tried to create a virtual user system with mysql. But it didn't work. Next I tried to debug my work with reading of dovecot log. I enabled logging in it by changing this values in /etc/dovecot/conf.d/10-logging.conf:
After that I tried to login to the pop3 via telnet and it failed as usual. After I checked the log file (/var/log/dov), but it does not contain any information about that failed login. Only there was some information about starting up of dovecot! Does any body know that what is the problem and why dovecot doesn't log that?
I think this goes here, but I'm not sure. I decided that XAMPP had been troublesome enough. MySQL never worked. So I decided to instal the LAMP stack offered by YaST. I went about installing it thinking that it would all work. But it seems that I was wrong. So I try to start mysql, and here's what I get:
Code: the-matrix:~ # mysql start ERROR 2002 (HY000): Can't connect to local MySQL server through socket '/var/mysql/mysql.sock' (2) or Code: the-matrix:~ # rcmysql start Starting service MySQL warning: /var/mysql/mysql.sock didn't appear within 30 seconds chmod: cannot access `/var/run/mysql/mysqld.pid': No such file or directory
i am using liferay5.2(mysql included in the download pack) on fedora. while liferay is working fine but i cannot connect to mysql.i am getting the error
[ [root@localhost ~]# ln -s /var/lib/mysql/mysql.sock /tmp [root@localhost ~]# /etc/init.d/mysqld start Timeout error occurred trying to start MySQL Daemon.
[code]....
i didnt find the mysql.sock file in the location /var/lib/mysql/mysql.sock. i cannot find the portal-ext.properties file also to make intial settings.
I've been google'ing around recently for some good solutions for creating local yum "update" repositories without syncing entire repositories. (or adding hundreds of exclude statements in config files)
I have several boxes with a common base build (centos 5.5/x86_64), one has nagios3, another has apache, and another tomcat6 (also a couple of others) For tomcat and nagios I'm obviously using 3rd party repositories (jpackage, epel, rpmforge to name a few) Everything is installed via RPM from kickstart.
I would like to make an updates repository which contains the updates for everything that's installed (including centos base).
Updates will be downloaded on a separate box, but not sure how to get the list of packages required on that box where the packages are not actually installed. I've looked at reposync and mrepo, but appear to be syncing from what's available rather than what's required.
I was hoping that I can provide an "rpm -qa" output, compare this to a "yum list" or perhaps running "yum check-update" on a list rather than installed packages. I could then use the yum-downloadonly module to get the packages which have changed from available sources.
I am using CentOS5 and installed the MySQL for server during the installation. I can set up and use MySQL databases. But I cannot make it startup everytime the server restarts. And quite a lot of methods need this folder "support-files/mysql.server", while my set up cannot find this. I am wondering if my installation of the MySQL for server is complete or not.
1) How to check all installed modules in Ubuntu? 2) How to check whether I installed a specific module or not? For example, uhci_hcd ? 3) How to install a specific module?
I have installed fedora 11 and I have installed on it hosting control paneland for a week the server was working fine for no reasonI have regulated control panel and I have added other functionswhen the hosting control panel was turned off, I have turned off the serverNext day I have turned on a server again and fedora 11 started to go onbut some window where the log in has to be does not appearinstead that window I saw a black screen with the cursorand around the cursor the revolving thingI have tried for several times to load it- it does not workWhat can it be and how can that be fixed
I installed IBSng in ubuntu-server .but i can not start this server :Code:[root@myserver]# /etc/init.d/IBSng start.: 8: Can't open /etc/rc.d/init.d/functions"functions" file is in RPM base system . and ubuntu have not this file
After searching the forum I could not find a clear answer to my question so I am giving it a try...
I have installed a LAMP server with Postfix as mail server. The scripts send email as user www-data using the mail server on the same machine.
However, the email got rejected by external mail servers (failed reverse DNS check) so I setup a mail server that meets all needed requirements.
Now I would like to use this second server instead of the mail server on the LAMP server. I found that this could be done with changing sendmail settings in php.ini (I think).
However I am not sure how that will go: www-data is no actual user on the new email server (which requires authentication before sending). Do I need to create a new user on the email server or change the settings in php.ini to match an existing user?
I'm using a linux server where nat server is running. Local user are connected from this server. So is there in tool that i can check that local user getting internet? or how can i check that a user connected from linux server using internet or where he visited?
I've tried /etc/init.d/mysql start, and it actually starts, or at least, it doesn't error out. But when I do pgrep mysql I get nothing, and when I try to login with mysql -p as root, I get
ERROR 2002 (HY000): Can't connect to local MySQL server through socket '/var/run/mysqld/mysqld.sock' (2)
None of my other logins work, either, but since pgrep mysql didn't work, it's clear that MySQL just isn't running. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling mysql-server via apt-get, but I get the same thing. The logs in /var/log/syslog show this:
Apr 11 14:31:26 /etc/init.d/mysql[9774]: #007/usr/bin/mysqladmin: connect to server at 'localhost' failed Apr 11 14:31:26 /etc/init.d/mysql[9774]: error: 'Can't connect to local MySQL server
Scenario:A - Local Unix machineB - socks proxy server port 1080C - remote mysql server port 3306I want to connect to the remote mysql server(C) from local unix machine(A) using sock proxy(B).
I tried to install php from source file on centos server and i got the error as # ./configure --with-apxs2=/usr/local/packages/apache/bin/apxs --with-mysql --prefix=/usr/local/packages/apache/php --enable-force-cgi-redirect --disable-cgi --with-zlib --with-gettext --with-gdbm
