I wanted to know is there any way to fetch last new unread emails of mine from a mail server (like gmail or yahoomail or) with a command and make text file from them in a appropriate directory.

I've tried downloading a number of fonts but no deal. Anyone know the font package I need to make this work?

View 3 Replies View RelatedIt is the strangest thing. I can not receive emails on this server after it has been up for an hour. I noticed that everytime and email is received that a sshd opens but never closes. Causeing a memory issue that I dont know how to fix. Also the mailq grows and grows. Mostly with email stating the recipient and send are both [URL].. also postmaster@mail.jmchd.com shows mail system configuration error. I have to restart the server every 30 minutes so users can get and send emails. This is horrible because for every 5 minutes out of the hour emails are bouncing.i have looked through them but I know not what I am looking at.
PS. I was thrown into the position and have limited knowledge. I am used to a GUI.
I have a server with a domain running and im trying to resolve the mail server but i can't see where to start. I use OpenSuse 11.2. Basically, for starting, i want postfix to send incoming emails to a php script or perl. for outgoing emails i guess that i could use php mail function and i will see what else to have. I configured the dns. I do a dig.mydomain.tld MX and i get the following:

So now my system is receiving MX content but i dont know what to do.

He has been playing around, having a bit of fun learning HTML, but he ran into a problem where one of his images would not display. But they(evolution and server) is not synchronized, i.e. if I read a mail in evolution, it still shows as unread in web version. or deleted mail keep coming back unless i delete it from web also.

I run Ubuntu with Unity. I see a Mail Notification applet in the tray that announces unread mail (from Evolution) and incoming IMs from Empathy. I uninstalled both programs, and replaced the IM program with Pidgin. (I don't have a preferred email client yet.)
Now Pidgin lets me know whether I have received new email messages from the services it is connected to. These notifications show up in the Buddy List window. Is there a way to get Pidgin to use the Mail Notification applet instead? I read in their site that "Pidgin was not designed to be an email client" but it would seem that all the pieces are in place to reroute those notifications to the mail notification applet.
Optionally, it would also be cool if when I clicked on those notifications, a browser window would open up to the webmail account the notification came from. (I have both Windows Live and Gmail accounts.)

View 14 Replies View RelatedI recently decided to switch back to a stand alone email client from gmail. I started with thunderbird, which had a very intuitive user interface and was working fairly well, except for the fact that when it wasn't supposed to be doing anything, it was taking up about 40% of my CPU (this is after it had downloaded all the emails, so there really wasn't anything that needed that much cpu usage from my perspective). After investigating that a bit, I decided I'm going to go for something lighter, and now I'm trying to claws-mail. This one is fast and quick, with very little bells and whistle, and I think it has the potential of keeping me happy.
However, there are few things that I can't figure out how to do. The two main ones right now are: How do I make it download all the emails in at least the inbox folder? I'm using imap protocol with gmail, and I'm happy that the two mailboxes are very well synced, however the only thing it is downloaded by default is the email header, and not the content. I would like to be able to download the content immediately, so I can read the email offline as well. How can I set up GPG to sign my emails automatically? In claws-mail to sign my emails, I need to go to the Options->Privacy Options->PGP Mime, followed by Options->Sign. Is it possible to make this the default option?
I have a problem with my VPS not being able to send any emails to Yahoo! addresses. Each time someone with a mail account tries to send something to a Yahoo! address, the email stays stuck in the mail queue and a 'delayed mail (still trying)' message is sent back to the user. I understand that Yahoo! has a tendency to block mail servers on a whim, but what I'd like to know is, how can I prevent Postfix from specifically retrying to send emails to Yahoo! mail servers? I don't want to stop retries to other mail servers.
