Does anyone know how to install Firefox Add-Ons without an Internet connection? I need to install Firebug on a Slackware 13 machine that's not connected to Internet
The version of Firefox is 3.5.2.
I just downloaded ubuntu 10.10 on my asus eee pc 1015pem. Everything seems to work fine but I have really a hard time to get my wireless working. The appropriate driver seems to be installed and active. My router is ok, too (Netgear WPN 824 v2). However, when I try to enter my wireless password and try to open the internet with Firefox then the web browser is offline and I cannot get internet connection. Connection with the ethernet cable is fine.

Tryed pppoe-setup, netconfig, but again I have not connection. Where is the problem? And I have one more question about Fluxbox. I have not display, wallpaper, icons...only menus.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have a dual boot Linux system with Ubuntu Hardy 8.04 and Slackware 12.1. I have a USB modem Huawei 1261 that I am using with Ubuntu with the usb_modeswitch package. I would like to get that working with Slackware 12.1. The usb_modeswitch seems to be working fine and also the "wvdial cdma" seems to working but Firefox can't connect to the internet.

I try modprobe -r <driver> modprobe <driver> dhcpcd blah blah and nothing. /etc/rc.d/rc.inet1/2/d restart. Nothing. The only thing that works is rebooting my system. how to reset my connection without rebooting?

I would assume they would need to be modified a bit, though, since I'm only upgrading the same version of Slackware. I'm not going from say 13.1 to 13.37. I just want to update a 13.37 current that I installed about three weeks ago to the now final release 13.37. If I could get my silly Trendnet TEW 423IP wireless PCI card to work in Slack, I could upgrade the normal way with Slackpkg.

Yesterday in the middle of web surfing, suddently firefox cannot see any website outside of my home network (Firefox displays Server not found page). No help when I rebooted a few times and connect to my home network via wireless or even wire cable; it can access files in my network file server (DNS-321) but not the internet. My desktop computer running Windows Vista and ASUS media player has no problem accessing the internet.

On my Samsung qx410 laptop, I can't connect to the internet. I went to the System Settings -> Network Settings and all the tabs there, but it wouldn't detect any connection, wireless nor wired.
I noticed that the kernel of Slackware 13.1 is out of date, so I tried compiling a newer one, but I couldn't get that to work.
I tried downloading this file: iwlwifi-6050-ucode-41.28.5.1.tgz but even after reading the readme, I had no clue how to go about installing it or even whether it was the right thing to install in the first place.
How can I get my internet working?
I am running Ubuntu 10.10, and I would like to use my computer to share the internet connection from an ethernet port. For example, I would like to set up my computer as a wireless access point so I can create a network that other computers can connect to for internet.

Why would this happen if I just installed opensuse using the internet? It looks to me as if opensuse can already figure out how to use my network card. i installed slackware-13.37 in my laptop and everything went ok. but then i tried to install different versions of firefox in my language (portuguese). I downloaded the files, and tried to install it in /opt partition, but first i removed the previous version of firefox located at /usr/lib64/firefox-4.0. so i made tar -xjvf firefox-4.0.1.tar.bz2 as root and everything went ok. but when i made ./firefox it just keeps firefox script.

I want to install KDE from fedora 14 DVD as my internet connection is very slow. It was a failure when I tried pointing the yum.repos.d/fedora.repo file to DVD to install using yum. Should I create a repository like what we do in RHEL to configure yum server(How to do it in fedora ???) Or is there any other method to install KDE repository on my system.

I've searched and tried a couple of possible solutions here but I cannot get them to work. When I try to use a downloaded deb file Gdebi cannot install it. It seems that if I re-install Network Manager I'll lose a lot of my Enlightenment installation. What I'd like to do is install Wicd. I dual boot with Win 7 so all is not lost. I understand that there's a way to istall Wicd from the command line without an internet connection but I cannot figure out how to do it.
