New to Suse. Have been driving Zorin, where all updates can happen at once. Have been trying to update Firefox (3.5.10) to new ver and Yast doesn't seem to be aware of it. Do I need to compile? My Zorin package (Ubuntu variant) sees each Firefox and everything else update and installs or gives me option. What do I need to do in Suse to get up to ver 3.6.8, and why isn't Yast aware?

When your chosen spelling dictionary is Polish and you enter text in English into box#1 and then into box#2, and then you decide to review your spelling, you can change the active dictionary to English. However, this will affect the spelling of box#2 only, which is good because box#1 might actually be in Polish. So you go back to box#1 and change the dictionary to English? Nope; the dictionary is English already so choosing English has no effect and the words are still marked as incorrect!
What you need:
A frame with two text areas, e.g. Bugzilla.
Steps to reproduce:
1. Set the spelling dictionary to Polish.
2. Enter "damaged " into box#1.
3. Enter "damaged " into box#2.
4. While in box#2, choose the English spelling dictionary.
5. Return to box#1.
6. Append text "damaged " (once more).
Actual results:
2. box#1: damaged
3. box#2: damaged
4. box#2: damaged

I'm running Opensuse 3 on an EEE PC, and so far had no problems. I brought it to another house today and now Firefox seems to be unable to connect to the network.. Network is working however, as Skype is running fine. Online update won't work either.

I have openSuse11.4 x64 and FireFox 6.0. Is there a way to update Java to latest version. Guides given on Java website doesn't work, tutorials found on Google also don't work. I updated to 6u22 but thats it. Firefox founds only 6u22.
View 9 Replies View RelatedSome time ago I did an automatic update and after that firefox, thunderbird and yast2 don't start. It's not that there is an error message or sth. Their icons just start jumping and after a while it stops without anything opened. I tried even removing the zilla directories and so on but it doesn't help. Of course I tried to simply reboot the machine and strangely enough, still does not work. Opera works though and I am ok with that, however yast2 not opening is more annoying. I do all the stuff that I want from the console, but of course that's not the point

I havent used Linux in a long time. I dug up an old copy of Suse (version8.2), and installed it on an old 599MHZ PC. Ive been trying to update the various libraries to be able to get a updated version of Firefox installed. Is there any chance that this can work? I need to know if Im wasting my time and should just put winxp on this PC. Also, I cant get any repositories working. I assume the default ones I have on the Suse installation are bad and the ones for the later versions will not work.

I was able to get Wine to recognize the program by copying the .exe files from the CD to the hard drive as the CD installation directly wasn't working. Now however the prompted Series 7 installation window that asks you to "Accept" or "Decline" will not move when I click "Accept". How can I resolve this? I am thinking it has something to do with either Java or Flash since this is an interactive program where multiple-choice questions are answered by clicking on them.

In dreamlinux it made it easy to see what the tutorial said, While still letting me use the terminal as I read. In zorinOS (Ubuntu build using Gnome) I have it set to almost total clear, and what I get for the background is my wallpaper ... Regardless of whether there is a window open or not. The only changes I have made are in the preference settings, and not to any files.

It turns out I accidently installed wrong drivers (nvidia while I have an Itel chip set) So everytime NVIDIA tried to load it's module and screen setting, it forced a check (fsck) because it couldn't find anything for NVIDIA. I booted in recovery, Changed configuration. # commented out the NVIDIA section, and changed NVIDIA to intel in the display section. Which seems to have worked because it now loads without me having to go into recovery mode, however my screen is abnormaly large and I can only see the center of the desktop. Leaving me unable to reach the panel and change the settings.

Checking the /etc/bin file there are 2 entries, one being firefox and the other firefox-3.5
I've noticed that FireFox is still at 3.0.11 on my Fedora 10 install despite multiple auto-updates. Will this not update FireFox to 3.5 auto-magically, or do I need to do it manually myself?
