I am having randomly this error every 15 min randomly when connected to through a corporate proxy to the internet. I have configure the auto update to run once a week but i still notifications for new updates daily. I am unable to connect to my printer wirelessly. I get this: Idle - "Connecting to printer..." The computer never connects. I can print a configuration report and get the ip address. If I type that in a webrowser, I get an error: unable to connect. Even if I plug the printer into the computer by a usb, I am unable to access the printer's ip address in the webrowser. I'm not sure how to proceed on getting the printer working wirelessly. It is a hp 6940 I use the HP Deskjet 6940 Series hpijs, 3.10.2rc1.9 driver. I have only recently been having printer problems. The printer has been hooked up on the same network for years. It still prints via usb.

Tried some queries and worked fine. So, then I opened tcp 3306 for incoming and outgoing from anywhare. Went to my XP station and install mysql odbc driver, allowed tcp 3306 and tried to connect but I got an error 10061. So I decided to telnet my server with 3306 port and I got "connection failed".

I am working on a project where I need to connect to a remote MS SQL Server database with PHP from a CentOS 5.5 server. I was able to get it installed and working on my Mac OS X 10.6 laptop with unixODBC and FreeTDS. However, I am unable to get it configured on my CentOS server. unixODBC and FreeTDS were installed, but when I try to connect, I get the following error message:

From what I could find by scouring the internets,it appears that I have 32 bit unixODBC (or FreeTDS, I'm not sure) installed (libtdsodbc.so.0 is symlinked to libtdsodbc.so.0.0.0) and it needs to be 64 bit. However, when I try to install the 64 bit version with
yum install freetds.x86_64
I get a message that it is already installed.Is there something else I need to do to get around this error? I'm a developer and not a server, so I'm not sure where else to go.

i need to install vpnc in amazon ec2 fedor 8 instance. i have installed with yum install vpnc commaned. And i have placed config file in /etc/vpnc/some.conf. but it is not connecting and giving the following error.
vpnc: can't open /dev/net/tun, check that it is either device char 10 200 or (with DevFS) a symlink to ../misc/net/tun (not misc/net/tun): No such device.
I have been using Ubuntu for almost one year or so. I use to have a good experience with it. But, since last few days I have been experiencing something nuance with my Ubuntu and most particularly the Exaile player. It use to connect to the Shoutcast server fine. But, these days I can't connect it. Everytime I try to connect it; it shows the message, "Error connecting shoutcast server". I have tried reinstalling it along with the normal plugins that use to work fine. But nothing seems working.

-Squirrelmail-1.4.2.tar.gz and unzipped under the folder /var/www/html
-cd squirrelmail-1.4.2
-cd config
-within this directory, ./conf.pl
-From main menu, I did choose 2 for domain (i.e. arafapparels.com). This is my official domain
-Then save and exit
-For IMAP setting, I did choose D
-Selected uw and save, then exit
-Then from command line, I wrote chown �R apache.apache /var/www/html/data (I created folder data in the above path)
-I created a folder named as attach to keep attachment in /var/www/html i.e. /var/www/html/attach
-Then typed grep �R apache /var/www/html/attach
-Then typed chmod 730 /var/www/html/mail/attach (Here squirrelmail-1.4.2 directory has been moved to mail directory)
-Then from web browser/Internet explorer, I typed http://localhost/mail/
-Here Username & Password appears. Previously I have created username.
-But when put Username & Password, below error message displays

But I gave permission by chmod 777 /var/www/html/mail and by using 555 but no result.
I just installed Ubuntu 9.10 and its great. However when I connect to the internet at home it shows that the connection has been established but I still cant connect to the internet. My flatmates are all able to connect. However, I am able to connect from work both wirelessly and through an ethernet cable.

We used to have a partial T-1 line with router that ran fine with both OS, but we had to drop the T-1 and go with AT&T DSL, which runs fine with Vista, but won't connect with KDE. I have searched this forum, and others, but nothing seems to work. I also used the 'swerdna' fix, suggested on these pages a while back, but that also didn't work. Of course, AT&T offers no support for Linux.We went to Linux because we were having chronic problems with the Vista system, and would rather not have it at all
View 8 Replies View RelatedI have just had a wee problem with the XFCE 4 Desktop on my Acer Aspire One with the Fedora 10 OS. Netbook worked OK this AM before work; shut down as usual. On returning from work, the Netbook seemed to boot as normal. But I only had one workspace instead of two (my usual), and when I tried to start Firefox, it was 2/3rds it's normal size and none of the usual '_ [] X' boxes in the the upper right hand corner! I tried booting into an earlier kernel version, but still the same. Had I accidentally altered the settings by any chance? Opened 'Fedora','Settings Manager', and clicked on 'Window manager'. But it just opened an error box, saying 'you do not appear to have a Window Manager'! Went (through google) to the XFCE webpage. The windows manager is called 'xfwm4'. Opened a terminal and tried 'top' - no xfwm4 process seemed to be running. So I quit out of 'top', typed 'xfwm4' and hit enter.

The network connection To/From XP/UBUNTU via SAMBA Shares works perfectly OK. However, despite scouring all forum information regarding changes to Win98 ENCRYPTION, (Registry change re: DWORD "EnablePlainTextPasswords"), the Win98 PC refuses to connect to UBUNTU. The UBUNTU PC can conect to all the Win98 shared folders OK. I have disabled my Linux Firewall (Firestarter), I have run SMBCLIENT to check the user password for Win98 and it is validated OK. The Win98 error message is ....

The windows machine behind the same router keeps working properly. I disabled IPv6 and rebooted, but still doing same the thing. The router is the DHCP server. I have tested the CAT5e wire, and it works fine.
