Debian :: Transmission 1.22 Stopped Downloading \ Get An Error Message Tracker Responded: Unknown Error (0) In The Info Window, Tracker Tab?

Nov 14, 2010

I have a problem with Transmission. After using it for over six months without a single problem, it suddenly stopped downloading. In the torrents that do no get downloaded, I get an error message Tracker responded: Unknown error (0) in the info window, tracker tab. But there are torrents with the same tracker that don'thave a problem and get downloaded fineThe logs don't give a clue about whats wrong either.I tried downloading those torrents with Vuze and I had the same problem. What could be wrong?

Ubuntu :: 10.04 Transmission Requested Download Is Not Authorized For Use With This Tracker

Aug 18, 2010

I have ubuntu-10.04-desktop-amd64.iso loaded in Transmission, which starts every time I boot up. Today, I booted up and got these weird error messages from Transmission with the ubuntu-10.04-desktop-amd64.iso file. The message is: Tracker gave an error "Requested download is not authorized for use with this tracker." - Idle.

I thought that maybe something was wrong with Transmission, so I paused the torrent and then removed it. I then reloaded it and pointed Transmission at the download directory. Transmission verified the downloaded data and then spat out the same error message at me - "Requested download is not authorized for use with this tracker."

I then removed the torrent from Transmission, exited from Transmission cleanly, restarted Transmission, reloaded the torrent file, pointed it at the current download location, it verified the file was completely downloaded, and then got the same error message. I have a firewall running, and it has ports 51413 and ports 6881-6999 open for both TCP and UDP connections. These are the same settings that I had yesterday, and there was no error message spat out by Transmission yesterday.

Debian Multimedia :: Control GNOME Tracker For External Hard Disk

Jun 10, 2015

I would like some info regarding an external backup hard drive I use. This carries a lot of text and sound files that I need frequent access to, and I would like to be able to quickly search on that drive using the standard GNOME tracker search facilities. The drive is connected via USB and mounted to /media/hhrutz/Mnemo2.

I have the following questions:

- the database is maintained on my laptop's harddrive in $HOME/.cache/tracker and $HOME/.local/share/tracker/data, correct?- therefore, it would not be a problem for the tracker to update its data if I decided to mount the harddrive in read-only mode?- is it possible to get an overview about the size of the database?- do I have to keep the button "Include removable media" in the "Indexing Preferences" checked?

In other words, is this harddrive understood as a removable media?- if so, can I exempt this drive from "Garbage Collection". That is, I generally do _not_ want to index for example USB thumb drives and such, so I use the default 3-days expiry settings. Does that mean, all the gathered data from my backup harddrive will be gone if I don't connect that drive every two days? Can I prevent that? Because the indexing takes extremely long

I also notice that while the tracker is spinning my harddisk, it doesn't ever seem to advance. It stays at "1%":

> 10 Jun 2015, 18:03:25: 1% File System - Crawling recursively directory 'file:///media/hhrutz/Mnemo2'

Ubuntu Networking :: SNMP Error Message - Unknown Object Identifier

Mar 25, 2011

In both CentOS 5.5 and FreeBSD 7.4 when I use
Code:
snmpget -v 1 -c public windows_host system.sysDescr.0
I get the remote windows machine system description just fine. But not in ubuntu.
Searching snmp-net FAQ for the erroe message "Unknown Object Identifier", I got this to work around
Code:
snmpget -v 1 -c public 127.0.0.1 SNMPv2-MIB::system.sysDescr.0
But it not worked either.. Searching "MIB" using apt-file search, I installed "snmp-mibs-downloader", and now
Code:
snmpget -v 1 -c public 127.0.0.1 SNMPv2-MIB::system.sysDescr.0
works.. but
Code:
snmpget -v 1 -c public windows_host system.sysDescr.0
still breaks..
Why it works in CentOS and FreeBSD but not in Ubuntu?

Ubuntu Installation :: Tracker Db Corruption Again

Mar 11, 2010

Between Intrepid and Jaunty, the database schema for Tracker changed from QDBM to SQLite FTS. This caused corruption problems for many, the only solution to which (as far as I can tell) was to delete the contents of .cache/tracker. Unfortunately I have many thousands of file tags which I'm not willing to lose, so that isn't an option for me. So I've stuck with Intrepid, waiting for a solution to come along. It doesn't seem to have happened yet.

So ideally what I'm after is some way to convert my file-meta.db file to the current schema, or a way of exporting and then re-importing my tags. Failing that, a way of running Tracker 0.6.6 under more recent versions of Ubuntu would do.

Ubuntu :: Connections Between IP / Tracker Blocked?

Aug 18, 2010

I am trying to use Bittornado with iptables via Firestarter. Previously, I had no problems, but now I have started using Firestarter, traffic is blocked. AIUI, after selecting the .torrent file, the client (me) connects to the tracker. In Firestarter, I see that my IP is trying to connect to various ports, all of which are blocked.I assumed the problem was that because Firestarter has a restrictive outbound traffic policy, that I needed to add Bittornado to it. So in Bittornado, I selected the acceptable ports as 10000-10010 (randomized), and then in Firestarter for the outbound policy I allowed those same ports.The inbound traffic policy has no rules. All traffic is permitted and I have a direct connection to the Internet (no NAT). I do not understand why, if I have selected the permissible outbound ports in Firestarter, and also selected those same ports in Bittornado, why connections between my IP and the tracker are blocked?

Ubuntu :: Packet Tracker 5.3 - Fonts And 10.04

Code:

The only thing that I've noticed giving a trouble is the list of Filters in Simulation mode. (With black background there is black font) So you have to change your ubuntu theme to lighter one.

Software :: Strigi Tracker And Beagle

Apr 13, 2010

I first installed strigi as part of nepomuk which came by default with my KDE 4 desktop. I noticed that nepomuk and virtuoso ended up consuming more than 1 GB of memory after a couple of hours, so I disabled it. I gave tracker a try, and after a couple of hours, it was using 300 mb. Left without options I installed the "under archiver" beagle. It has been running for many days keeping all my data indexed and up to date. The best part is that it uses mere 30 mb. The only change I did was enabling user_xattr on my file system, which as far as I know, doesn't affect tracker or strigi. Has anyone experienced this bizarre behavior with strigi or tracker? If so, is there a solution?

Ubuntu :: Using Tracker (Searching Tool) In 10.04 Lucid?

Apr 21, 2010

I have been using Ubuntu 10.04 Lucid Lynx for some time and I have some problems with Tracker (the searching tool):
1. It looks like it reindexes after every turning on a computer. It always starts at 0/55234 files.
2. It doesn't index e-mails in Evolution. I'm using IMAP, but all mail is marked for offline use. So it's on the harddisk. And it worked in older versions of Ubuntu.
3. GUI is totally different than the one which is shown on the website of Tracker [URL]. How is it possible? Is Ubuntu using some old version? Moreover the Czech translation is lost in Lucid. It was 100% translated in Karmic, and now it's completely English.
