So I installed Lucid on my G4 Cube and now am trying to figure out how to make the video work properly.Right now it is in low graphics mode, which is not pleasing whatsoever.I have the 17" Studio Display (LCD, rev b) connected to it and it has the ATI Rage 128 Pro graphics card.I went into the xorg.conf file and there was nothing there. I tried the suggestions for the 15" display but that results in the x server crashing, so i undid that.

I'm trying to set up diferent routes for eth0 and eth1/eth1:0 I need eth0 has a 192.168.1.1 gateway and eth1/eth1:0 192.168.1.100 gateway.I think I've tried almost every thing but always get one gateway for all the eth.These are my config..

Problem: Can't get bridging to work properly.
I'll start by saying that most of this is built inside of a 64bit ESXi 4.1.0 server. Should be obvious by the picture below.
Trying to set up a bridged CentOS box. Ultimate goal is to set up a Transparent Firewall. The machine labeled 'Desktop' is a Windows XP running DHCP. It gets assigned an Internet routeble IP address. At this point, nothing is running a firewall.
Symptoms:
Gateway can ping CentOS bridge
CentOS bridge can ping gateway
CentOS bridge can resolve DNS names and ping FQDNs on the Internet.
CentOS bridge CAN NOT ping Desktop

I cannot get static addresses to work on eth0 and eth1. eth0 seems to use DHCP while eth1 uses the static information. Sometimes the static info is used but the interfaces get the addresses reversed.

I am running a quad core centos 5.4 box that is having a strange problem with dovecot. The administration panel is able to send emails through dovecot but not any of the user accounts (ie with webmail). I've done a bit of research with what could be wrong but haven't had any luck so far I am also having a weird problem with apache: on a c++/php bittorrent application I was going to be running on a subdomain of my main site I get a 500 error every time I try to log in. The only way to get rid of the 500 error is to clear the chache (so its horribly broken somehow). The error generated in the log whenever I try to log in is that "ffmpeg is already loaded" (which I am running on the main site and is critical). Is there a way of either repairing my apache install or excluding ffmpeg on the subdomain in the conf or something?

I try to generate a server client code. What i try to do is sending video streams from eth0 and eth1 to the other server programs' eth0 and eth1. In order to do that, i decided to use SO_BINDTODEVICE. But the code is not working. Am i misunderstood the usage of SO_BINDTODEVICE.

i'm using ASUS K40IE laptop, installed Ubuntu 10.10 and online upgraded to 11.04 (natty), and i have a problem about my wifi.This laptop using Fn+F2 to enable/disable wifi (using Windows work properly with driver from asus) and have a Led that trigger on/off.Using ubuntu, that's shortcut it's useless. i press Fn+F2 many times, but that led indicator never turn off. Is there a way to make that shortcut can function properly? Actually, i'm not often using wifi, so i want to make it default disable on start up. Both ubuntu 10.10 or 11.04 can't using this shortcut.

I have a TP-Link WN851n ver2 with the ar922x chip. This just seems to drop out. it sometimes connects but not reliable. It is just plain annoying. I have to run windows to get any wifi to work properly.

I have a hardware device with two ethernet ports, eth0 and eth1 running Centos 5. Basically my goal is to forward packets from eth0->eth1 and eth1->eth0 as well as get a copy of these packets for analysis. If I set IP routing to do the forwarding then I won't get a copy of the packets for analysis.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have two ethernet ports on my SuperMicro server. When I start the system, only eth1 is operable. If I ifup eth0, I get a message that it is already configured, but I can't ping any of the IPs on it.
If I ifdown eth1, then ifdown eth0 and ifup eth0, then I can ping any of the IPs on eth0 in the interfaces file. Of course, now eth1 is not reachable.

View 2 Replies View Relatedi installed the free PacketIX vpn client on my ubuntu 9.04. it created a virtual network adapter, i was able to configure and connect to the VPN service but when i add a default route to the routing table so that all internet traffic goes through the VPN, my internet connection stops working until i remove the line i added.

I have 2 (some future machines will have 4) ethernet ports. I want to have them configured such that if any gets unplugged, as long as at least one of them is plugged in, it can reach the network (even if via a different IP address), and it can be reached (at least when trying a working IP address). I'm trying to make a DHCP server work on my CentOS 5.4 box, but I have placed it on another subnet than the one that it is going to serve. I use a helper address on my router to make the the DHCP requests being routed to the DHCP server on the other subnet.

My wireless adapter stopped working randomly the other day. I think the last time it was working was right before I put the computer into hibernate for the first time. it stopped working even after restarting.modinfo p54usb shows (I'm leaving out information that seems irrelevant because I can't copy and paste without the internet, so I'm typing what I see from another computer)
