Networking :: DNS Record Not Refreshed - Getting Errors On Website
Jun 1, 2010
I don't know if the title is a correct description of the problem I have. I registered a domain name in godaddy, created a subdomain name and pointed it to some name servers. After some time, I moved my website so I change the name servers of this subdomain name. But the problem now is it is still pointing to the old name servers. Everytime I visit the website in my computer, I get errors. But I try it in another computer, I works. So I suspect there is something left in my computer that still tells my browser to go for the old name server. I've cleared cache and temporary files of this browser but it still does not change.
this is my first post here at LinuxQuestions and to start it off I have a question that may be simple. I will provide as much information that I can to help explain what it is I am trying to accomplish. Information: My server is running CentOS latest version I am booting to GRSEC
My problem is that my phone's IP address changes every 10-30 minutes, and my server is IP whitelisted. So in order for me to login to my server I need to somehow record my Phones IP address into the "/etc/hosts.allow file". Getting the IP of my phone is simple, for this I set up an account at dyndns.org. My phone successfully updates it's ip to the site whenever it changes. For this example I will use "linuxquestions.dyndns.org" In order to get my phones IP I will run a "nslookup" on linuxquestions.dyndns.org every 10 minutes. For this I will set a cron job to run every 10 minutes.
I am wondering how i would do this using VLC (i want both video and audio to be recored), i see this RTSP Protocol people use but no idea how to use this for a website thats going to have a live show on.
By the way the thing i want to record will be here http://e3.nintendo.com.
Would it be rtsp://e3.nintendo.com? hopefully thats a link that can be recorded...right?
the reason i want to record this is because i got a test i have to take... i gotta stay for like 2 hours.
Is there any way to record/capture live streaming video/audio from a website?
Code: www.ww.com I think the file will be .swf something to do with Flash and Macromedia i have tried all kinds of downloader to no available. Thanks for your help....
Iam trying to burn wave files to a cd that i ripped from a cd when i try burning to gets to 300 meg and stops with these errors CD RECORD RETURNED AN UNKNOWN ERROR (CODE 254) SOMETIMES USING TAO WRITING MODE SOLVES THIS ISSUE Using ubuntu 10.04
I have a fresh new F13 installation and I am not linux expert, I need to test Fedora for some reasons. When I try to start HTTPD or vncserver services, status display as "This service is being refreshed right now", it keeps like this for a long moment. Closing and reopening services applet, I notice that both services are stopped. I googled about apache, the 1st thing I understood is to search error_log, opened it in gedit, nothing is written in this file.
I have installed squid proxy server on cent os 5.5 the problem i am facing is with some websitesthis issue arose suddenly the issue is when i access certain sites then i get page cannot be displayed but when i refresh it it displays the page. again when i close the browser and start again same issue. What could be the reason how can i solve it
I actually don't know what was the cause of this. Because of some display problems such as openSUSE freezes with external monitors, I have included xorg repository and updated relevant packages. A couple of days ago, suddenly my system started not refreshing the screen properly. For example, when I change a folder in Nautilus, the file pane is blank even though there are lots of files. The files appear when I move mouse cursor around or I activate some other window with alt-tab, and get back. Or in OpenOffice Witer, if I press arrow keys, there are lots of residual image of the cursor. So the screen is not properly refreshed right now.
I installed Ubuntu 9.10 on an old PC, Dell dimension L550r, PIII500, 512M ram. There is a problem that monitor is not detected. I could logon as 'xterm' type, but the window size is only 1/4 of screen. When I logon as 'GNOME', it seems screen is not refreshed. media player window is blank, but can see a static image if minimize and restore window. Even terminal window is blank.
Go to "System"->"Preference"->"Display", shows "monitor unknown". I can not find file /etc/X11/xorg.conf, is this normal? xrandr command output: Screen 0: minimum 640x400, current 1024x768, maximum 1024x768 default connected 1024x768+0+0 0mm x0mm 1024x768 60.0* 75.0 70 832x624 75.0 .....

I need to record Tx/Rx bw in my c program at defined intervals. I am aware that there a bunch of available tools but I need a minimal version with only Tx/Rx bw with no other details. I have tried the tool bwm-ng which mostly serves my purpose but either it runs continuously in the console or saves result in html file. It does not have any options to save the result in txt file which could have been easy to parse.
Is there any other simple way to record Tx/Rx bw in a program?(without using tools from /proc/net/ or any) I am using Mandriva Linux 2.6.31.5.
I'm currently tunnelling to my Ubuntu pc at home from my laptop in order to bypass my schools false-positive prone filter. Is there a way to record traffic that both comes to and is delivered by my pc?
I have a question with named and cname records. I wrote a CNAME record into a zone yesterday: valami.teszt.hu. IN CNAME teszt.hu. teszt.hu has an A record: teszt.hu. 14400 IN A val.id.I.P
I restarted named. My problem is: when I visit valami.teszt.hu I get the "Apache is functioning normally" message, and not teszt.hu. And if I write an A record for valami.teszt.hu instead of CNAME record (valami.teszt.hu. 14400 IN A val.id.I.P), the valami.teszt.hu will display message mentioned above too.
I have met following problem: there is a website I cannot access. When I am trying to connect to this site I get an error message. I tried all browsers installed on my system. Seamonkey, Firefox, Konqueror. All failed. I don't understand this completely as I have no problem with connecting to internet. Now I am thinking that I myself somehow unintentionally blocked an access to this particular site. Is it possible? Under W$ I have no problems at all.
How would I set up a website that would be only accessible locally. There's a router machine (server) that keeps provides internet access for a number of client machines. I need to set up a learning platform (moodle) locally. The server machine runs moodle server (apache server) and students should have access to their accounts locally (no need to be accessible outside of LAN). First of all, what would be the best network configuration for it.Sorry for a dumb question, but could I just come up with any domain name if everything stays locally within LAN?
I've been trying to add a redirect iptable record but each time I add it, it appears to add successfully (meaning it doesn't throw me any errors); yet when I run 'iptables -L' I can't see it listed:
I have ubuntu 10.10 server with a web site I am mess up in NIC configuration. I have only one web site on my server. I Have 2 Internet connection with static IP. I have 2 Network Card as follow eth0 119.155.152.140 (1st internet with static IP without firewall) eth1 203.135.30.240 (2nd internet with static IP without firewall) when i restart my networking it give me following error
I am trying to create a shell script (CGI) which will create a website with an embedded flash mp3 player. At the same time I want this script to overwrite the file currently in the playlist with another file which will allow me to change the song currently playing on the flash player. The reason I am doing this is so that I can copy the song I want to play to this file at a low bitrate reducing its size. The code I am using in my script is:
I have several web servers, say myserver1, myserver2, and myserver3, behind a firewall that the higher-ups run. They recently changed the firewall to block all ports except for the ones they want open. I have www.myserver1.com viewable to the outside world, but www.myserver2.com is not viewable to the outside world. I was wondering if there is a way to set things up so that people could go to [URL] and view the [URL] and [URL] website content.
myserver1 is running Solaris 7, which will (hopefully) be upgraded to Ubuntu 10.04. myServer2 is running Ubuntu 8.04. myserver3 is running Windows XP. I was wonder if this is possible with any OS, not just mine.
My hosting server is running Linux / Apache. It would be very nice to be able to link some files (preferably hard links, but symbolic links also would help), but haven't a clue how to do so. I would be willing to write a server side php script if that would do the trick.
I try to boot Fedora 10 without initrd. System boots normally if I make in some nodes in /dev such as /dev/console. Almost everything works fine, but when I try ping with record route option -R I get this error
Quote:
ping: record route: No message of desired type
If I boot with initrd ping -R works without this error. Iptables not running.
Also this error appear when I try to boot from LiveCD F11-Alpha-i686-Live-KDE.iso or other Fedora 10 LiveCDs.
i have an AP set up and would like to have all requests for a website sent to a specific ip address.. and am trying to get this to work in IP tables
user-->AP-->google.com
no matter what site they try to goto it takes them to [URL] i want to use this to require people to login to my server when they connect to my AP before they can go any further.
I have 10 systems working on LAN with fixed IP given to all the 10. I have ubuntu installed. "ifconfig" shows my IP on eth0 interface. Query : I've my blog at /var/www with Apache installed and it works fine when i give the IP address of eth0 (Not 127.0.0.1). And it works from any system when i gve the IP address.* How can i change the IP address to a simple URL. Eg: Instead of I've tried:1) Adding entry to hosts & configuring httpd.conf in apache. Did not work.2) I don't want any bind, as it should be accesible only within the LAN
I've actually gotten a webserver (hardy heron, server edition) working before and had a Joomla site up I could find on the net. But I did a fresh install of Lucid Lynx (desktop edition, that I added some packages to to use as a server). Between the router (wrong ip address?), port forwarding (set right?), my domain nameservers (godaddy) and the DynDNS service I use (for dynamic ip) I must have a wrong setting because, my joomla website shows up at localhost, but not 'out there' so to speak. I would like to get this site out there and working soon, as it's one I'm just doing free for a Community Garden.
how do i teun an IPaddress in to a website name that i payed for? useing apachie 2. think stupid what line number to enter what code(s) i use notepad++ to edit system files with coreftp and putty by my side.
I am having a problem with internet browsing. Whenever I type the address of any webiste like Google or URL...or any other, the firefox gives message at "Status Bar" that "Looking up google.com" or "Looking up yahoo.com" etc for every website for about 20-25 seconds and than launches the website successfully. Why this is happening and how can I correct it?I also tried this in Opera and Google Chrome and same problem occurs in them. Moreover, if I ping any domain inside terminal, it instantly starts pinging (with ttl 51) and recieving data from that domain resulting that the problem is with browsers.
I set up an apache webserver on a redhat enterprise server 6 last week. It works fine on the localhost. However, the webpage can't be accessed from the other computer. I didn't modify anything related to 'allow, deny' in httpd.conf. The only thing I've done is I added a rule in iptables to approve the access from a computer with a specific IP address. Since I am quite new to iptables, I don't know if there is anything wrong with my setting.
Even I stop iptables, the problem is still there. I don't know if my setting of iptables is correct. Or, there is anything else that I should do?
