When I try wget URL... I get failed: connection timed out.I have created br0 as a bridge over eth0 to run this VM. The host has this IP 172.30.8.135.The host has access to internet through eth0 and this is the output of route inside the host.

Im having a issue with routing internet traffic from my router two different subnets (vlans).

Theres my setup:-

Both eth0,1 are running dhcp (two scoopes) that works fine!

I have ip_forwarding on aswell, but i can ping the ip on the server running that dhcp scoope ie ping 192.168.4.1 works great but i just cant get the internet on the clients.

I've been trying to setup an IPSec connection between two routers, but am having trouble with the actual packet routing.

My setup currently is two local networks (192.168.1.0/24[netLANA] and 192.168.0.0/24[netLANB]) that are connected to their own routers (192.168.1.1 and 192.168.0.1 respectively). The routers are both connected to the 194.26.1.0/24[netWAN] network. I wish to setup an IPSec connection between the two routers, to act in tunnel mode between the two local networks.

The first router is a linux box (on the netLANA network) that I am setting up using the ipsec-tools, and the other is a Netgear ProSafe FVS318G (on the netLANB). I've set them both up to have the same configuration for IPSec. Also, on the linux router I have setup a route like this:

$ route add -net 192.168.1.0/24 wlan0

So that all traffic destined for the netLANB network will be routed to the wlan0 interface (netWAN in this case, and therefore over the tunnel).

My problem is that if I ping from any host on netLANA, I can see the ICMP reply comes back to the linux router, but it doesn't get back to the original host.

From the linux router, here is the tcpdump of the ping:

routing tables using "ip route 2" I have a server(server1 from now on) with eth0(internet connection) and eth1(lan connection). eth1 have 2 more alias devices = eth1:1 and eth1:2 On my server 1 the eth0=public ip, on eth1=192.168.10.1/24, eth1:1=192.168.20.1/24 and eth1:2=192.168.30.1/24 server1 is running squid and iptables to all 3 networks (eth1, eth1:1 and eth1:2) All of the clients have access to internet. Now what i want to do is add 3 more networks via a router(linuxBox = server2 from now on) connected to server1 in eth1. so the network will be like this:

I have an Ubuntu 9.10 server installation which have been working flawlessly for some months. The server runs bridged networking, because of some VMs that runs on it. But, a couple of weeks ago the network connectivity have started to disappear now and then (usually once a day or so). Running "sudo /etc/init.d/networking restart" always kicks it back to life.

After a bit of debugging I noticed that when OK the routing table looked like this:

Deleting the two routes to eth0 restores the networking again. Why these "erronous" routes gets added, and what adds them? How to further debug this?

eth1 which is connected to interneteth2 internal networkbecause the server is part of a complicate network i need to setup the routing tables for eth1 and eth2but i need that the default 0.0.0.0 must be read from eth1 while i dont know why the server first read the one on eth2. this creates big problem to me.if i add the default route to eth1 i get an error saying that the default route already exist (i suppose is the one on eth2)how i can solve this ? i must create a script that first delete the default from eth2 and after add it to eth1

To be able to use my 3g connection from my laptop I am using Azilink.Azilink work by setting up a little Openvpn server on your smartphone then you connect to your smartphone from your laptop with OpenVPN.From there what i wanted was to use a second VPN connection to an external Linux host and redirecting all my traffic to that tunnel... (redirect-gateway + iptables)It is working but partially..Here is the way I connect through my phone (all steps are I think important for the routing issue...)

1) I plug the phone then a usb0 interface is created with the 192.168.239.5 ip adress (my phone is 192.168.239.4)Then adb connect 192.168.239.4

2) I have to enable a port forward on my phone adb forward tcp:41927 tcp:41927

3) I run the openvpn script (to connect to my phone on wich i have launched Azilink)

So Openvpn connect to 127.0.0.1:41927 (to my phone) From there I have a Initialization Sequence Completed
At this time I am connected through 3G via my smartphone to the Internet..And as you imagine i don't want to enter all the IP adresses of Internet minus RFC1918 manually via route command.I think the problem comes from the fact that when i do the route add default gw 10.8.0.5 it is overwritting all the routes required to establish the first and the second connection am i right? Could someone help me solve that issue ?

Set up new server using RH 2.6.9-42.ELsmp on an old HP G4 server. But can't get network to work, can't ping any host, not even my gateway.

Verified cable by plugin a different pc on it, using same network ip address, etc, it worked fine, could ping gateway and other hosts on same segment. Are there any other files I could check to verify network card on server is good? it was working when it was configured as a windows server.

I'm trying to install Ubuntu Netbook 10.10 to an Asus EeePC 1000H (160GB HDD). (I know it will be slow because of Mutter/i945). The usb stick boots just fine but when it comes to the partition part it goes wrong.

I have 3 partitions:Windows 7 (50GB)
This will be Ubuntu Netbook (50GB)
DATA (60GB)

But the partition manager just shows 160GB of unallocated space. I have tried to reboot and create the partitions with other software (even with GParted LiveCD) but the result is the same.

I'm trying configure my server for routing between vlans, but I'm having troubles with my server after that vlans are set. I can create vlans and routing is OK, but when I trying remove a vlan, restart the network script or restart the server, the CLI freeze and then I can't do anything. Even Ctrl+C or Ctrl+Z isn't work. I can use other terminal or do other SSH connection (if the network interface used by ssh isn't crashed), but if I try use a ifconfig per example, crash again. The unique solution is restart the server. Nothing about this is found in the log.

I am using Fedora 10. I have a network design like that:

WinServer --- (r1)router(r0) --- (eth1)LinuxPC(eth0) --- intranetPC
All netmask is 255.255.255.0
WinServer network is 192.168.1.0/24
intranetPC network is 10.10.0.0/24, gateway is IP of the LinuxPC(eth0): 10.10.0.2

Router:
r1 -IP: 192.168.1.253
r2 -IP: 10.10.0.253

LinuxPC
eth0 -IP: 10.10.0.2
eth1
-IP: 10.10.0.40
-GW: 10.10.0.253

I search in Internet several days to find how to configure the LinuxPC to a gateway. The LinuxPC can ping and connect the WinServer and intranetPC correctly, but the intranetPC cannot ping and connect the WinServer network.

I used the webmin to configure the Gateway.
I used the iptables to set allow all connect, than
iptables -t nat -A POSTROUTING -eth1 -j MASQUERADE
iptables -A FORWARD -i eth0 -j ACCEPT
echo 1 > /proc/sys/net/ipv4/ip_forward
In "/etc/sysconfig/network" add "FORWARD_IPV4=true"

I found this:
