i am using broadcom wireless (4312) on my laptop with FC15 and configured it using [URL]. initially it ran great without any problem (for a week). but from yesterday, every 15 minutes or so, my wifi started getting disconnected, showing the wireless login screen . I can reconnect only by rebooting or restarting network manager service.
Wifi getting disconnected very frequently in Fedora 10. I am facing issues in my Toshiba satellite laptop, after a fresh install of fedora - 10. After the install, The wi fi connection is dropping off very often, and even on keeping wpa_supplicant and wifiroamd in "active" state, the connectivity needs to be established manually.
cisco vpn client 4.8.5 I have no problem to connect it, but got disconnected every minute after I opened a terminal and ssh to company's server. Not sure what's causing the problem. There's no problem to connect to windows.
I have a Dell Studio XPS 1640. The wireless card is a Broadcom Corporation Device 4353, and I'm using the Broadcom STA driver suggested in System>Administration>Hardware Drivers. Every couple of minutes, it disconnects from my network and then it spends several minutes reconnecting and gives me the "Authentication required by wireless network" prompt several times. The problem only exists in Lucid: it goes away when I use a Karmic live CD, and a similar XPS computer with perfect wireless performance in Karmic has the same problem when I run Lucid on that one. Aside from downgrading to Karmic, how can I fix this?
I have had a search around, any cannot find any thing I can make sense of as to how I go about getting the above card to work with Fedora 11. Just done a fresh install (need Linux for some development) but have no wifi. My chipset is this Broadcom BCM4310. There seems to be a whole load of options, and I don't know which works and which don't:
kmod-wl broadcom-wl ndiswrapper
I can sit with an Ethernet cable to install/update as necessary, but really could do with wireless.
I am succesfully installed a Dell wireless card with Broadcom 4328 shipset using ndiswrapper and rpm sources on Fedora 12 2.6.32.14-127.fc12.i686.PAE. Now I am using original Win drivers but the wifi conection is very slow and unstable.

Im using Ubuntu netbook remix on my wife's hp mini. Ever since I switched my router out this netbook will connect to my wireless network, then show a disconnected icon, yet the internet still seems to work. I've searched around and seen that other people have had this issue but I haven't seen anything on how to resolve it.
I tuned on my netbook and my wireless signal had a red exclamation. Wireless is enabled. Wireless Networks shows disconnected
I don't get it. Can't seem to get it to connect? How? If I open the connection information I can see the wifi networks around me. And edit/add/delete. But when I go back to the signal and click. it just shows wireless network disconnected and no option to connect. What to do? I have restarted the computer, router, cable modem, etc. Done the updates.
I have an Asus laptop with a BCM4318 wifi chipset. result of lspsci command about wifi cards:
Code: 00:09.0 Network controller: Broadcom Corporation BCM4318 [AirForce One 54g] 802.11g Wireless LAN Controller (rev 02) For some reason, I often get disconnected. Once it's disconnected, I cannot connect anymore and I need to reboot my laptop in order to get the connection back! I didn't have this problem when I was on Ubuntu 8.04. I checked in /var/log/syslog and I found this when the network is disconnected:
Im using natty in lenovo b460. After installation was not able to connect to wifi. Ethernet is working alright. So searched for additional drivers and installed the Broadcom 43xx drivers. After restart the network applet says the wireless is disabled by hardware switch, even after it is switched on/off several times.
i have a broadcom BCM4311 802.11b/g WLAN [14e4:4311] (rev 01) wireless adapter on a dell 1501 run by ubuntu 10.10.this particular model and revision is suppose to be absolutely supported by linux and indeed it did work perfectly before the user ran a upgrade from ubuntu 10.10 to 11.04.subsequently i have reinstalled 10.10. as i recall when i installed ubuntu 10.10 the first time i simply ran the System>Admin>Additional Driver installation tool to make the wireless work. i cannot recall if i ran the b43 or the sta driver but i have tried both this time and had no luck.
i am aware that the broadcom adapters are notoriously troublesome and i have tried the two workarounds here URL... as well as their third alternate workaround with no success.
I have an emachines D620 laptop running Ubuntu 10.10 with a Broadcom Corporation BCM4312 802.11b/g LP-PHY (rev 01). I havent done anything with it and cant seem to get it to work. I know this because when I had visto on it the card worked, but know it says that its firmware is not enabled and ive tried installing the drivers using the Additional Drivers under Administration. I would like it to be working so I can use my laptop's internet.
I have a HP Pavilion dv6-2155dx Entertainment Notebook with Broadcom Wireless Lan Driver.
I didn't want to bother anyone with this, but I just could't find a solution. I was happy using Ubuntu 10.04 LTS Desktop Edition, because the wifi was working fine, but I messed everything up dealing with networking in terminal.
So formated and now I have Ubuntu 10.10 Netbook Edition, but that didn't solved my problem at all, because my wifi driver still unfunctional.
Before anything, I tried commands like "dbus restart" and "network restart".
So after reading that I can install by getting ndisgtk and the .inf file, I downloaded the right driver from HP Support's page of my notebook. Extracted the package with Wine (got some error because I wasn't running Win7, of course, but that doesn't matter.).
I just installed 9.10 and I can't detect any wireless networks. Is the card compatible with 9.10? Do I need to install any drivers? If the card isn't compatible with 9.10 is it compatible with later versions of Ubuntu? Marking this as somewhat urgent as I need to get internet access for some coursework soon, and also because my parents will kill me if they find out I've done anything unusual with the laptop because it's new and they think anything non -MS is a virus.
just installed it with a duel boot with windows, installed it using a live boot cd that i burned. seems like everything is good except i have no wifi i tried to do an update and possibly get the fix and i get an error when trying to install the updates..looks like i have more issues than i thought.. did i mess up by installing from the live cd?
I have having trouble getting my broadcom wifi card working, it is a BCM43225 802.11b/g/n. I did mange to get it to work but after reseting Fedora 15 would not boot. How to get the WiFi card working that would be awesome.
Can't get my WiFi to work on my HP. My WiFi chip is bcm4303 (rev. 2) this is a new thread from http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1400427&page=4 ) So, I reinstalled Ubuntu (fresh install) Activated the Broadcom b43leagacy Wireless driver. When rebooting, the WiFi LED on the On/Off switch blinks.
I still try update my broadcom drivers, because when I try use airodump-ng i receive error.
This error:

I installed Ubuntu 10.10 amd64 online today. I was using 10.04 32-bit before, and the network drivers were easy to find and install. Ubuntu did the job for me and they worked flawlessly. It was a relief I didn't need to search around.
Even though 10.10 (64bit) found the drivers for me, both ethernet and wireless, they do not seem to be working alright. I installed both, made a restart. I found that the WiFi light on my laptop stays on, even if the wireless network is turned off using either the key combination (Fn+F2), or manually turning it off.
Issues with the ethernet? I am right now using ethernet but it does not care to detect the connection. Empathy won't connect automatically as a result- says no network connection. But here I am, posting this. Evidently, there is a connection, right?
Issues with the wireless? The WiFi light stays on all the time, and it isn't able to get hang of the connection I have at home. It just won't show any wireless connections available. When I tried to connect by giving it the SSID and the encryption type and password, it didn't work. Just kept asking for the password again and again (I have checked with the router- the password is correct).
ok basically i have a new dell inspiron n5010 with a broadcom 4313 wifi card. it doesnt work with ubuntu studio 10.10. I have the drivers all installed and it works on ethernet with the broadcom STA proprietry driver. if i disable this driver the eth doesnt work. but the driver shows its working (screenshot-1).
There is no pop up or anything in the task bar for detected wifi. i open the network settings and it shows up with a wifi option but i have to go into properties and manually type in what i have "the_den_meribel". which didn't work. (screenshot-2).
i have tried the other driver broadcom-sta-common and that doesnt make it work either. screenshot-3. i did try to install the "lp-pphhy" or whatever it is (seacrh for firmware-b43 in synaptic).
i have a list of results from what i have typed into the terminal: dell inspiron n5010
I just put 10.10 on my D830 and I love it except for a delay when I'm using the internet. When I click on a link while surfing the web it takes about 13 seconds before it responds. After that it works just fine.
My Windows 7 PC and my Macbook Pro don't do that so I'm guessing it has something to do with Ubuntu.
I just installed the 64-bit Kubuntu 11.04 and i've been having some issues getting the wifi to work. At first I went to additional drivers and activated the STA driver and restarted. After restarting when I went into the network manager and any option for wireless was disabled.
Using a USB ISO, I recently installed Debian 8.0 Jessie (64-bit, Xfce DE) to a new computer. I usually lose my Wifi connection after 1-3 minutes when donwloading/uploading at around max. speed 4 Mbps/512 kbps. Sometimes it will last 15+ minutes.
When lightly browsing it can usually stay connected for 15-30 minutes. I have to disable and enable Wifi using NetworkManager to connect again. If I remember correctly, there were problems with the Wifi connection even during the installation of Debian.
This Wifi USB adapter works fine on my old computer with Debian 7.7 (32-bit). No problems with the Wifi connection yesterday on my old computer during 10+ hours of activity.
This Wifi adapter also works fine on this new computer when I boot from a live USB (Rescatux 0.30.2) downloading and uploading at max. speed for 1+ hour.
I already tried some suggestions I found online, but they didn't work:
* changing Wifi channels between 1, 6, 11 in my router settings * changing WPA-WPA2 to WPA2 in my router settings * ignore IPv6 in NetworkManager * change probe_wait_ms from 500 ms to higher value by adding Code: Select alloptions mac80211 probe_wait_ms=1000 or Code: Select alloptions mac80211 probe_wait_ms=3000 to /etc/modprobe.d/mac80211.conf and rebooting * disable Power Management for Wifi adapter (not supported) * ...
I can also post the output of commands from Rescatux or my old computer if needed.
Output of commands on Debian 8.0 64-bit (I edited out some info, MAC, ...; not sure if that is important):

The configuration is.Network controller [0280]: Broadcom Corporation BCM4313 802.11b/g LP-PHY [14e4:4727] (rev 01) Subsystem: Broadcom Corporation Device [14e4:0510] I want to inject monitor mode in my laptop to run kismet . But i can't. I installed broadcom-wl driver in my laptop but i think its not compatible to run monitor mode.. when i run kismet it show me error that :------ try some other open source kernel driver And the other is :- kismet find only binary value eth1 port. It isn't detecting wlan0 port
The wireless connection gets disconnected and when I try to reconnect it, it is not possible, the wireless icon keeps blinking and last for ever and never gets connected again, the only solution is to restart the computer. do I need to do a specific task to stop this error? operating system ubuntu 10.10, I have a hp pavilion dv600, i recently had some issues with the wireless driver, now I have it and it works fine but now the problem is that the wireless connection gets diconnected and when trying to reconect it, well it is not possible. please advise.
I'm having issues with my wired network. After about 5-10 minutes of turning on my machine, the network will drop out. Sometimes rebooting my pc or router will fix the connection, other times it will have no effect. Also, sometimes the connection will completely disconnect, other times it will appear to be connected (i.e. the network icon will indicate that there is a connection), but trying to ping a remote server or the router will fail.
This problem first showed up on Fedora 11 64, however I've just installed Fedora 13 64 and that hasn't helped. I'm using a brand new NIC (I've tried using the onboard NICs). The machine also has Windows 7 installed, which is able to connect just fine. Apart from changing NICs, the only other thing I've tried is switching from dhcp to a static IP address.
