Fedora Hardware :: Sound Cart Is Not Detected Or The Driver Isn't Installed?
Nov 20, 2010
i just installed fedora 14 x86_64 on an external driver now everything works fine except that i don't have any sound comming out of my speakers so i think that my sound cart is not detected or the driver isn't installled (can't find a driver for linux to so i can't confirm)
I don't have any sound after installing Linuxant ALSA driver. I tried uninstalling it and the hsf driver, didn't help. Reinstalling ALSA didn't help either. Ubuntu doesn't detect my sound card, and aplay doesn't detect my sound card. lspci -v output for sound card:
Code:
00:07.0 Audio device: nVidia Corporation MCP67 High Definition Audio (rev a1) Subsystem: Acer Incorporated [ALI] Device 0126 Flags: bus master, 66MHz, fast devsel, latency 0, IRQ 10
I tried to install the latest RealTek driver for Linux and it has wiped all my devices. I've tried reinstalling the alsa-base packages but it hasn't worked
I bet some of you do know of this issue A Toshiba Satellite M100-SP1011 with a 1.6 GHz Intel Celeron was installed two 2 GB PCS-4200 533 MHz tablets. Bus runs at 533. BIOS would accept them at once but reports there are only 2.8 installed. This BIOS doesn't allow selecting the amount of RAM for video.
installed Fedora 11 on my laptop a couple of days ago. Everything went well in the installation except for the fact that I have no sound. I have a HP Pavilion dv5 and I have installed Gnome as my desktop. I tried fiddling around with the sound sliders in System/Preferences/Sound/ and System/Preferences/Advanced Volume Control but with no success in getting the sound to work. What is the problem with my sound? Any help would be appreciated. Interestingly, I had no problems with sound in Fedora 10, except for the fact that my internal mic was not working out of the box but even with that, I was able to find a workaround to get it working. By the way, I have the Intel 820801i (ICH9 Family) HD Audio Controller as my sound card.
I have installed Fedora 14 on my new laptop Thinkpad T410 but the wireless card is not detected. I tried to install the drivers but got error. How to install the driver.
Attached is my Xorg.0.log, my modprobe output, and my lspci -v output.Kernel modesetting appears to be enabled. Plymouth splash screen works graphically.
I have F13 installed on a Gigabyte MB with on board audio and rear panel plugs. I'm not hearing anyting from the speaker tests from System|Preferences|Sound GUI or from the SATA DVD with a CD inserted. (Or Rythmbox, or Amarok) I've tried headphones and amplified speakers with no output detectable. The 'aplay' and 'aconnect' utilities don't report any errors when probing the audio setup. Any suggestions on how I can isolate where the problem might be occuring? Can I use the a version of FedoraPlus or possiby easyLife on Fedora13 to update the codecs or drivers? The rest of the system is running great with most of the mysql and tomcat stuff porting over from Solaris with very few changes. Fixed color printing last night, but I seem stuck on audio for now.
I attempted to run amarok from the menu and found it would never start there was no activity, I then tried to start it from the command line and I recieved this error..
Version mismatch detected between the NVIDIA libGL.so and libGLcore.so shared libraries (libGL.so version: 195.36.31; libGLcore.so version: 195.36.24). Please try reinstalling the NVIDIA driver.
This is a fresh install of Fedora 13, the kmod-nvidia drivers were just fixed I assume cause I tried to install them for a few days and they would fail. Well I guess they finally fixed the Nvidia drivers for 2.6.33.5-124.fc13.x86_64 but it has broken amarok..
i just updated my Fedora 14 from Kernel version 2.6.35.11-83 to 2.6.35.11-88 Now the driver for the broadcom wireless ethernet adapter is not detected anymore I installed the driver using
[code]...
The package is still installed but when i but when i use modprobe again the output is "module wl not found" Anybody some ideas? By the way, here is the hardware specification
I have installed Windows7,and Redhat9 next installed but set as default.Problems:- Sound card is not detected using sound card detector.(I faced no such problem when i had installed Fedora3,and Fedora11) -Modem is not detected too when querying modem. -Could not find in PC (when Fedora was installed)or find and download needed codec packs and plugins so nearly most media could not be played.
After upgrading to the latest Wine, I find one of my most prized Win apps no longer works properly (no longer detects sound hardware). Seeing as the previous version (1.2.0-2) of Wine worked fine, I have located its (16) rpm's in the Yum cache, but irrespective of which one I double-click to install, it fails, complaining one of the other packages isn't already installed. Shouldn't the installation-manager automatically detect that these all of these dependent-on-each-other files are present? The 'newest' previous version in the repository is 1.1.38 - really old in other words - and my app works with it but I'd really like to install the newer version in the Yum cache.
I've a laptop of Compaq Presario CQ040, I installed Fedora-9 but found that there is no sound. I ran lsmod, lspci and aplay -l command and the respective output is below:
How to configure the sound card and get it working?
I mucked my system up while trying to install proprietary nvidia drivers -- I was careless and installed the wrong ones (should have used legacy drivers). Now my system hangs on "starting udev" during boot.I have tried many combinations of boot options in an effort to blacklist the problematic driver. Attached is a picture of my boot screen after specifying the options "single init 3 modprobedebug", and removing the options "rgbh quiet". For some reason I am having a lot of trouble blacklisting the correct module, or maybe I caused a kernel problem, which in that case is beyond me.Also, boot option syntax question: can I specify something like "rdblacklist=*nvidia*" using wildcards?
I've just installed fedora 15 to try out Gnome 3and came to know the sound is not working . I've tried changing the setting from "Sound Setting" but didn't work. lsmod gave this
So this indicate that the driver is installed ,but i can hardly hear anything . I even tried installing "pavucontrol" but its of no use. As a last try ive tried installing sound drivers from Reltek website but ive got error while configuring.
I tried to install the new Vbox 3.2.6 through rpm as a guide told me but I first had errors with the older vbox dependencies, so I uninstalled vbox 3.1.8.2 and now I am with a vbox period. Is there something I can do to fix this I tried this tutorial didn't work for me [URL] and another on the fedora forum (lost the history). error I get is Recompiling VirtualBox kernel module [FAILED] and Kernel driver not installed (rc=-1908) The VirtualBox Linux kernel driver (vboxdrv) is either not loaded or there is a permission problem with /dev/vboxdrv. Please reinstall the kernel module by executing.
I've tried ubuntu distribution but I'm not so satisfied of it, a bit because of unity (gnome3 is a way worste of that but is much more smooth and fast) and because on my laptop i always go overheating. with ubuntu coretemp in idle are always on 60?C and go to 75?C watching a video...it was crazy! So I've tried fedora, and I'm so happy with it, also if it is a bit more complex to use! but with some tutorial and easylife i got it working.
I have a dell studio 1537 with intel core 2 duo and ATi Mobility Radeon HD 3450 I've installed catalyst driver and now I have weired color on the top bar...I know is a common prolblem there is a way to solve it? If I have to reinstall Mesa driver how can I remove the Catalyst ones? There is a tweak to have icon on desktop? or at least the trash? Cheese always crash when I use some effect, why? it is a problem of the already installed mesa driver? because I have this problem either with the standard driver installed on the system either with the catalyst and the webcam is laggy like a slow connection...
I recently installed Linux - fedora 10. This is the first time im working with Linx, i have no idea about Linux OS. My problem is i cant hear any sound if i play any music. I have real player installed. I suspect that the fedora 10 is unable to detect my sound card. My sound card is inbuilt in motherboard(Intel).
I'm learning PHP and I was curious about this. I've learnt about cookies and sessions, and I'd like to know - which one do you use for a shopping cart? What's the actual mechanism behind it? As the user builds up a cart full of stuff, is the data for that maintained on the server-side in a MySQL database or something?
Is it possible for plymouth to work with the ATI Catalyst driver installed in Fedora 15 x86_64?
Is it that plymouth requires KMS and Catalyst doesn't provide it? With the nvidia driver, I could put a vga= line in grub and plymouth would run. Is there something similar for catalyst?
Has anyone ever worked in the development of a cart application able to handle transactions and payment. I am not just interested in the database processing but how the money is being transfered. Do you need some server requirements? Any book(s) that you find useful to read? or online source ?
i was wanting to download zen cart in linux mint once i get it downloaded where does it go and how to i open it to install. sorry for the dumb questions but im new to linux and just now getting the hang of some of this.
One moment I was on my system working and the next I realized someone had deleted or removed my sound driver because I checked and it wasn't there. I should have written it down but I didn't and now I feel real stupid. Is there a way to restore it. I have a 32 bit machine running Fedora 12 Gnome.
Sound was working until I tried to install a rawhide version of Nouveau which hosed my system.Backed out to where I started and the sound is gone. The hardware is not showing up in the System> Preferences> Sound.I reinstalled alsa and pulse audio.
