I bet some of you do know of this issue A Toshiba Satellite M100-SP1011 with a 1.6 GHz Intel Celeron was installed two 2 GB PCS-4200 533 MHz tablets. Bus runs at 533. BIOS would accept them at once but reports there are only 2.8 installed. This BIOS doesn't allow selecting the amount of RAM for video.

Just installed Virtual Box 4.06 in Ubuntu 11.04 But couldn't able to figure out some problems. Host is Ubuntu 11.04 in that have installed Windows XP as (guest)
1. USB detecting in Ubuntu BUT NOT in Virtual Win XP
2. After when I installed (Devices-guest additions....) CD/DVD Rom is not being detected by Virtual Guest (WIn XP), when i checked in mycomputer-manage-device-manager-CD/DVD ROM, it says VBOX CD ROM. when i insert any dvd/cd it won't read/detect?
I have installed (successfully) Ubuntu 10.04 ppc on my powerpc g4 mac. 400mhz, 1g ram. Its the blue model. It works great, but it does not detect my monitor, and I can not change the settings past 800 X 600. I am using a Dell 19 inch monitor. Analog input (not DVI yet) resolution 12080 x 1024 60hz. I believe I need to change the info in the xconfig file (but I don't know to what or how), and I may not be saying that correctly.

I have firmware installed (/lib/firmware/b43, /lib/firmware/b43legacy), b43 module loaded (listed in lsmod output, dmesg says "Broadcom 43xx driver loaded"), but my wireless card is not detected anyway. The manual says I should see b43 in System > Admin > Additional Drivers, but there is only STA listed there.

The external HD is detected and mounted automatically in Debian Lenny, Mint 7, openSUSE, Mandriva and even xp. However, no detection was found in Fedora 10.

View 3 Replies View Relatedinstalled Fedora 11 on my laptop a couple of days ago. Everything went well in the installation except for the fact that I have no sound. I have a HP Pavilion dv5 and I have installed Gnome as my desktop. I tried fiddling around with the sound sliders in System/Preferences/Sound/ and System/Preferences/Advanced Volume Control but with no success in getting the sound to work. What is the problem with my sound? Any help would be appreciated. Interestingly, I had no problems with sound in Fedora 10, except for the fact that my internal mic was not working out of the box but even with that, I was able to find a workaround to get it working. By the way, I have the Intel 820801i (ICH9 Family) HD Audio Controller as my sound card.

When I boot my computer, I can see dvd-rw drive detected correctly, though 9 times out of 10 it does not get detected by OS - drive's icon is not present in nautilus hence I cannot access any cd or dvd. Although when I restart a computer and try to boot from cd or dvd - it works perfectly, then after coming back to the os the cd/dvd won't be accessible. I a have Fedora 13 installed from the DVD ISO.

View 14 Replies View RelatedI installed Fedora 14 today, and have most things setup. However, I am not able to get my Creative Zen MX working correctly. After plugging the device into my computer, it gets automatically mounted ok, and I can browse it, however running mtp-detect gives the following:

i have a strange problem. i have a IBM client machine with a sata HDD , RHEL 5.0 and ainternal DVD writer. the HDD is detected as /dev/sda when the writed is with the machine,but when i pull out the internal DVD writer RHEL crashes and i have to change the fstab entry to /dev/hda. kinda strange , i didn't understood it.

Firefox's Plugin Finder Service says that it is an unknown plugin when visiting pages. I have tried the manual install using rpm and yum along with trying to uninstall and reinstall via Add/Remove Software.When looking at Extensions within Add ons, Flash is not shown on the list.

The bug report says it was fixed in f11, but it does not appear to be working in F12 either. I tried both the i686 and x64 live cd's and neither find the Ethernet adapter. I would really love to get my new computer up and running without having to buy another Ethernet card to do so.

The Dacmagic does not appear anymore in the Multimedia Audio Systems settings, only Pulseaudio is shown. However, in my hardware info widget, the Dacmagic does appear? This is shown as "C-media USB Headphone set". Now I'm totally lost. View 14 Replies View RelatedOver the weekend my MoBo, MPU, & PSU decided to retire so I had to replace everything including memory. I originally had a Gigabyte GA-MA790FX-DS5 MoBo with Athlon II x2 and Corsair 800MHz $GB RAM. I used my current USB keyboard and USB wireless Logitech trackball which the wireless had issues, but I don't use that now. Now I have an ASUS M4A88TD-V EVO/USB3, AMD Phenom II x4 and A_Data 4GB DDR3 1333 MHz RAM. I still have the same USB keyboard which worked fine on the old MoBo and now have a wired USB mouse. I had installed F14 prior to the fried chips incident and all was working fine. With the new MoBo I have 2 issues as follows:
1. On boot both the USB keyboard and the USB mouse are detected by the BIOS, but when the screen comes up to enter my passphrase for my encrypted deviceshe keyboard is unresponsive. I have gotten it to work by hitting the "ESC" key steadily just before this screen pops up. The BIOS settings for USB seem to have only turning on Legacy USB devices option which seems to have no impact on this problem.2. When I shut down, the system does not power off and the display will show that the system is halted. All BIOS settings in regards to Power make reference to Sleep or Suspend modes, power mode after loss of AC power.can furnish the exact wording of all power related settings and USB per the manual
