Fedora Hardware :: Intel Wireless 3945 ABG Not Working?

I have an Intel 3945ABG WiFi card in my Laptop (Dell Inspiron 6400). The problem is that I'm not able to get my card detect the Wireless Network. I'll list the prolem more specifially below. O.S. Fedora 12 x86-64
1. The Network Icon on the Taskbar (is it what it is called here in Linux??) shows Wireless is Disabled under the Wireless Networks. Wired Net works fine.
2. If I goto System->Pref->Network Connection the Network Tab is empty.
3.Under System->Admin->Network Config I can see two Devices; one is eth0 (active) with a checked check box. Second is wlan0 which is Inactive and has a checked Checkbox. The Activate and Deactivate buttons are disabled for both these. If I go and see in the Properties of the wlan0 it says controlled by Network Manager checked but the Network Manager comes up empty.
4. This forces me to remove that "controlled by network manager box" which enables the activate and deactivate buttons. Now I can Activate my wlan0 adapter and the light on the Laptop for WiFi starts up. During startup (activation I get this error in the pop-up box:
Error for wireless request "Set Mode" (8B06):SET failed on device wlan0 ; Invalid argument.). But the popup eventually closes auto. The Network Config box now shows it active but the Taskbar Icon still shows Wireless is disabled. And still the Network Connections has an empty box under Wireless tab. I donno what to do next. The card worked fine with Ubunto 9.04, openSuSE 11.2 (both 32 bit btw) and Fedora 11 again 32 bit.
Wireless worked fine on live cd, but for some reason not after install. I think maybe the driver is not loading, but I am a pretty much still a noob, so my opinion isn't worth much. If it is the driver not loading, I don't know what to do to fix it. Here is my wireless output information.

i can't connect to my wireless network (wpa psk) with ubuntu 11.04 and my wifi card Intel 3945 ABG. i've done some search on the forums here and none of the workaround i've found works.
working to sort out the damn wireless for too long. Mine in cent05 5.2 . network manager is on and I can see the icon on tray. It list all the wireless connections too, but just won't connect. WPA encry is disabled. further details below:

Windows crashed yet again so I thought I'd switch to Ubuntu. Install of 9.10 went flawlessly, everything looked great and worked perfectly. Next day after restart the wireless wouldn't connect. I looked around for solutions and used a wired connection to install wicd and suddenly wireless worked again. But next day after restart wireless wouldn't connect again -
I keep getting a popup asking for my WPA key despite the fact that I know the key is entered correctly. I decided to install 10.04, thinking maybe that would help. It didn't look like wireless was working but after a restart it worked and it worked again after another restart! Fantastic! But today, I'm back to square one. Using Windows again.
TL;DR - Wireless won't connect to the network which it can definitely see - repeatedly presents "Enter WPA key" prompt despite key being correct and wireless working flawlessly under Windows.

I have a compaq nc6400 with the intel Pro/Wireless 3945 ABG card. I had to send my laptop back for repairs, so I have an older Dell 1720 laptop that I threw the Hard Drive into, similar specs, just the wireless card is different. So what i need to do is somehow activate the driver for the Intel 3945 wireless card in this dell laptop.

But I can't connect to internet with BackTrack4, so I download it from Window 7 and copy to my thumb drive, and past to the desktop of BackTrack4.
Then I open terminal, decompress the tar file. Another folder(ipwraw-ng) is appear on the desktop. Then I change to the "ipwraw-ng" directory (cd /ipwraw-ng) Then I compile with command (make) and the error start. It shows error like below

I'm not a real linux expert but I do use it since long time.
I have installed Fedora 12 on my laptop and subsequently spent most of the day trying to get the wireless connection to work. Looks like I am not alone with Wireless issues Through searching and reading today I think the problem lies with the fact that the wireless on/off switch is not working. Under Windows, when I press the wifi toggle switch it starts flashing orange. I haven't managed to get it to do anything under Fedora.
I am running openSUSE 11.3 updated with all the latest patches and I cannot connect to my wireless router. I am running Linux Mint 10 on the same type of notebook HP Compaq 6910p and it worked right after the install. If I take off the security WPA & WPA2 Personal I can connect. lspci -v | less shows this for my wireless card.

I am using the same settings for both notebooks just can't figure out why openSUSE 11.3 won't connect. I get the prompt to key in my password, I've even checked the box to show password to make sure I was keying it in correctly. Everything was good but it just goes right back to the password prompt after it fails trying to connect.
I followed the sticky about setting up wireless and I have come to an issue where the WLAN switch which is on this computer can be pressed, the light comes on, but no WLAN. When I looked in dmesg, this is what I get:
ipw2100: Detected Intel PRO/Wireless 2100 Network Connection firmware: requesting ipw2100-1.3.fw eth0: Radio is disabled by RF switch.
Notice it says that the 'Radio is disabled by switch' in dmesg. I can press that switch until the end of the world comes and it does absolutely nothing but make the WLAN light put on a light show. And it shows the wlan to be unassociated with any clients. So, what are my options to get this Wireless up and working?

The wireless on my 64-bit openSUSE-11.2 installed on my Dell Studio 1537 laptop stopped working some time back (possibly more than a one or two months back). I just discovered this last week when on business. I have not used the wireless under openSUSE-11.2 for a while so I am not certain what broke it, but I am suspicious of an update. I note openSUSE-11.3 milestone-7 works great with the wireless (on a liveCD). I note possibly two related threads, although I note no failed request for firmware in my case:request for firmware file 'iwlwifi-5000-2.ucode' failed [INTEL 5300 AGN] [OPENSUSE 11.2] - openSUSE Forums, and I see another thread here: Suddenly No Wireless Network Card - openSUSE Forums... but I can not tell if what I have is the same problem, so I did not add to those threads. In my case I can scan for the network, and see the SSID. An ip address is assigned. But a ping does not work.

I know the router wireless network is good, because I can connect to the router via wireless with another laptop (old Fujitsu-Siemens Amilo 7400M with older Intel wireless), and the router wireless also works with this Dell Studio 1537 PC (with same hardware) but with openSUSE-11.3 milestone7 version.
What do you think? Wife just bought a new Compaq 610 series laptop. These are the wireless specs:

I'm new to linux and I install ubuntu on my wifes laptop since it will hopefully slow down the amount of problems I have to resolve.I ran the live cd of ubuntu and wireless was working all ok, showed my wife around and she was like ok install it.I used the GUI and install ubuntu, and updated (apt-get update) after that the wireless is not working.I see the device, but have no idea whats wrong. Please could someone inform me as to which things to post in order to get it sorted. Since this seems to be the only issue.

I'm running Ubuntu 9.10 on a Gateway M520 laptop, and after failing to get the Broadcom wireless chip that came with it working I swapped it out for an Intel PRO/Wireless 2200BG. until yesterday night wireless was working fine on openSUSE 11.2 After a reboot, suddenly wireless is not even shown as a possible network medium. I guess that driver is not getting loaded since modprobe is giving an error which I mentioned earlier. What could be reason? Did driver crashed? Since this issue cropped up only after I rebooted the machine.
I have a Dell Vostro 200 with the above wireless card in it and I cant get it to work. I have been on Intel's website and downloaded e1000-8.0.18 and installed as the instructions. But it is still greyed out on the Network Manager. I have just installed Ubuntu Desktop the latest current version.
I have a new Thinkpad t510 laptop with an intel centrino wireless N card (no bluetooth). I installed ubuntu a couple weeks ago after I got another hard drive in the expansion bay. I have the drive partitioned into two sections, 250gb for file storage, and 250gb for the linux OS. Currently no other OS is installed on the other harddrive.

Im trying to connect to my college wireless network. I have looked a thinkwiki and no one has posted any bugs. Any ideas on getting it working again?
I'm new to linux. I've just installed Ubuntu 11.04. It has all been going ok, but the wireless just stopped working all of a sudden. The indicator light turned off and when I tried to turn it back on (Fn+F2) nothing happens. Sometimes, when I restart the computer, the wireless might work; but if the signal is lost the LED on my laptop turns off and I cannot reconnect. Also, in these strange cases that the wireless works when I restart I can manually turn it off (Fn+F2), but nothing happens when I try to switch it back on.
In the menu on the upper right corner I see 'Enable Networking' is checked, but 'Enable Wireless' cannot be modified.

I've got a Dell precision with Kubuntu 9.10. Wifi worked fine on that machine for months, but stopped working last week. I don't know what happened, but I recently did an "apt-get dist-upgrade". That might have something to do with it.
I have a Dell E6500 with and Intel 5300 wireless agn card running Lucid x64. Wireless works fine and speeds are great except when I download with either the browser or thru a torrent or even updates. Once I get to around 100 megs in to the file wireless stops working and the only way to get it working again is to disconnect and reconnect to the AP. I have installed the back ports and tried several other fixed to get this to work but nothing has helped. One more note this happens on 2 other wireless routers that I have tried so I know that it's not limited to my Linksys.
