View 6 RepliesI have ATI graphic card with HDMI video and Audio:
I see that I have HDMI connector and S/PDIF connector on the mortherboard, I just have HDMI connector on the monitor, I have no problem with the video but the audio does not work, I just want to confirm that the audio should also go throught the HDMI cable right ?
Here is the output from the alsa-info.sh script.
I have one Asus motherboard with inbuilt HD 3300 Radeon family graphics system, I have used it with radeon and radeonhd drivers and I have xorg.conf. I tried to change card to Radeon HD 4350 but it didn't give more than terminal view, Xdm didn't start. I believed the driver would support both cards?

View 12 Replies View RelatedI am a rookie to both Debian and Linux. There is a need of Debian so I just started my experience with the Linux system.
I have installed the Debian squeeze testing version and since when I installed the system it didn't recognize my ethernet card, I could only install what is in the installation CD1. Now I have a nice looking Debian system but very simple with a lot of necessary packages or whatever missing (I don't even have the update manager). Is there some way that I could launch an automatic installation of content in the rest CDs from internet?
I have got notebook HP 4710s and I can't get drivers for graphic card ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4330. ATI repository for openSUSE and SLED doesn't working. Do you know when Can I get it?

I have an Acer Aspire 5516 and have been running ubuntu for a while. I couldn't resist the upgrade notice to 10.04 so I did it. Unfortunately it doesn't seem to recognize my video card ATI Radeon X1200 and I have to boot in safe graphics mode. I can use my computer but the display is a bit off. I have tried to install the ATI driver but get the following:
ATI Technologies Linux Driver Installer/Packager
Error: ./default_policy.sh does not support version
default:v2: x86_64:lib32::none:2.6.31-14-generic; make sure that the version is being
correctly set by --iscurrentdistro

I have an ATI Radeon 9000 Graphics card that Ubuntu 9.10 doesn't seem to recognize no matter what I do. Knowing that its an older card and that ATI stopped support for it a while ago, I was wondering if anyone knows if I would have better luck on Ubuntu 8.04. I can't get 3d or opengl to work, or install the correct ATI Driver.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI've already got two installs without much problems.. one on my laptop and another fedora13 install on an older comp just to test it a bit before installing it on my main comp. But now I've got a problem. Both those install went without problems but when I started installation on my main comp first I've noticed some graphic problems when there is installation started and there is mouse and fedora 13 welcome installation screen. there are some like glitches or something no idea how to describe them.. like bad pixels in small upper part of the screen. But ignoring that everything went OK up to the part where I can choose a standard discs or non starts like sans and stuff..
When I choose standard disc installation just freeze there. No idea what is happening. Only this that came across my mind is that there is a problem with raid maybe? There are 2x640Gb HDD in raid0, there is win7 installed, and another 1Tb HDD, non-raid member disk, where I would like to install Fedora and have a dual boot. Still got programs that I need win for I'm afraid. Installation went smooth on laptop and another comp but there is no raid so I'm guessing that could be a problem. This comp where installation froze is in short:

I've tried for months, to install a version Fedora where there could not exist any glitch with the graphic card, but without a solution. I recently have taken the path of linux systems, so I'm kinda new with this problem and don't know what to do ! The glitch make some horizontal lines dancing in screen, or can't even read anything. View 1 Replies View RelatedI am thinking about buying a new computer. It has ATI Radeon HD 3000 Graphics. Does Fedora 14 support ATI Radeon HD 3000 Graphicst? Will I have to install a driver and if so where would I download the driver?
View 4 Replies View RelatedWell I've been trying to get drivers installed for this card for a few days now and I can't get anything to work. The proprietary drivers for this card don't support the xorg version installed in F14. I've tried mesa and ati drivers but I can't get them to actually work, they both just cause x to crash during startup. I've looked through the threads for ati drivers but they all seem to talk about using the latest catalyst drivers and thus non of them have helped me much.
View 3 Replies View RelatedAfter lots of trouble with the new Nvidia stuff in Fedora 12 I gave up and am trying to switch to an ATI Radeon 4350 card in the existing system.I have removed the Nvidia refs with rpm -e, deleted /etc/X11/xorg*, and installed the card. I am only able to get a maximum resolution of 1024x768. Here's what I've done:
Boot and su/delete all refs: /etc/X11/xorg*
Reboot. System comes up with 1024x768
Select Administration->Display to run system-config-display.
Su/password dialogue
[code]....
If I try to add a mode line following Depth 24, It is ignored by system-config-display and overwritten. This worked with the Nvidia installation and I was able to select my resolution above 1024x768.
Fedora-13 will not play sound. It's definitely a kernel issue and I am not the only one from what I read elsewhere. Prior to kernel 2.6.28 audio works on this Samsung Q1 Tablet PC. Any kernels from 2.6.28 onwards will not recognize my sound card and therefore won't play sound no matter what. I've proved it running different livecds (Suse, Mandriva, PCLOS, etc.) with kernels 2.6.25, 2.6.27, etc., all with audio. How can I use/import a suitable kernel for Fedora-13 so that it will recognize my sound card (driver snd-hda-intel) on this Q1?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI've loaded Fedora and must say what a nice OS! But I'm having some issues getting the video working correctly so let me jump right into the issue. The video is very garbled and hard to read. can't seem to find a way to correct what would appear to be a driver issue. Here are a list of things tried:
- display works fine with Ubuntu
- display is clear but is chopped off when using an external monitor from onboard vga slot
The video card is an ATI radeon and the linux drivers from the ATI site don't work with the new images that are out yet.
Will Fedora 15 support this video card on laptops?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI've just installed F13 on Acer Aspire 5551G with has Broadcom BCM57780 ethernet card. And F13 does not recognize this card: in System > Administration > Network Devices tab is empty (but in Hardware tab the card is listed). So, I can't connect to the Internet
So far I've found:
1) Related bug for F11.
2) Related thread for F12.
I've tried all possible solutions mentioned in both the bug and the thread, but nothing could convince my F13 to like the ethernet card.
