Debian :: Can't Find Url / When Using Alt Port8100 Debian Lamp

Jun 27, 2011

Working on an important project and feel hung up on. Anyway, I have Listen 80 and Listen 8100. For some reason my isp or something is blocking 80 even with port forwarding and an attempt at putting my server in dmz, though I'm not sure if my router can handle it. Anyway, from within the network I can use my routers IP and see port 80 forwards to my box, though from outside the network port 80 is a no go(finds no route to host). So I set up listening on 8100, and sure enough I can access it from outside the network, but it doesn't seem to have the same root as port 80 for some reason, because when I go to the page it says the requested url / (just a slash here like theres no rest of the address) cannot be found. At the bottom it says debian server port 8100 so I know its getting to my computer.

Debian :: MySQL Server Can't Start In Lamp

Jun 24, 2015

I installed LaMp 2 days ago. First everything works; But until yesterday, I can't start anymore mysql server : it failed each time.

When I look at the status :

Code: Select allsystemctl status mysql
Failed to get D-Bus connection: Erreur inconnue -1

It's like it can't generate mysqld.sock

Code: Select all/usr/bin/mysqladmin: connect to server at 'localhost' failed
error: 'Can't connect to local MySQL server through socket '/var/run/mysqld/mysqld.sock' (2)'
Check that mysqld is running and that the socket: '/var/run/mysqld/mysqld.sock' exists!

I keep reading man and trying to find something I didn't configure correctly, but I can't find nothing.

Debian :: Can't Reinstall And Find Webmin In Debian 5 Using Apt-get

Jul 18, 2009

I'm new here and very new to Debian. I have a server with Debian 4 installed by anoter person and webmin was installed and running. I run a dist-upgrade to switch to Debian 5.

Upgrade completed successfully, as far as I know, except than Webmin stopped to work. Once logged in I got many error for modules/program not found. So I uninstalled webmin using "apt-get remove".

Now if I try to install it again apt-get tells me that (try to translate from Italian):

Quote:

Package webmin has not any version available, but is referred by another package. This means that package is missing, became obsolete or is available only from within another source. E: package webmin has no installation candidates

I tried also with "apt-get install webmin-core" but get the same message with only this additional info:

Quote:

Anyway, these packages substitute it: webmin

Tried to run "apt-get update" and then "apt-cache search webmin" but it doesn't find anything.

Debian :: Intranet Server With LAMP - Mail Server ?

Aug 23, 2011

I am completely new to Debian . My aim is to get one of my machines to run this system as the intranet server including www server, mailing server, intranet server and LAMP at the same time on the small network. I have found some resources including how-to's how to install Debian as the normal operative OS not as the intranet server. I have also found this: [url].However that is applicable for the 'Mandrake' distribution (Mandriva). Now, I would like to ask few questions that will be applicable not only for me but for more users and if someone could answer them .

1.What installation source shall I choose, CD/DVD/Network Install CD?
2.I have found this: [url] ... troduction is that applicable?
3.How to install web server, mail server, LAMP and configure them, link above describes mail server installation not configuration itself.
4.How to configure intranet on Debian to work as the server serving the Windows clients (using Samba?)

If someone could propose a set of the sources or the instructions how to achieve all of the steps I would really appreciate that. Also, if sources will be given by the users I shall try to achieve what I want and write up 'how-to' for this problem. Therefore, me and other users would benefit from that.

Debian :: How To Find Typo3 4.2 After Installation

Dec 15, 2010

I'm using Debian since about two years now and I'm happy with it. Yesterday I used Synaptic to install the Typo3 4.2 meta package from the main sources.I wasn't sure if it would be a better idea to use the newer version 4.4, but thought it would be the least tricky thing to stick with the officially supported versions for Debian Lenny. So I picked up a book for this older version of Typo3 from the library and wanted to start learning the CMS.

The problem I encountered was the fact, that the installation didn't produce any folder on "/var/www/" from which I could start. As well I couldn't find any man, help or info entriesNothing so far on the internet as well. (Some months ago, when I installed Drupal the same way, I didn't had any such problems.)Do I need to do something else in order to get access from the localhost?Does the Debian Typo3 setup use a different folder somewhere else

Debian :: Squeeze Won't Find Grub

Aug 23, 2010

I decided to upgrade to Squeeze from Etch.

not upgrade, but moving from etch to squeeze.

Clean new install. Format disks, re-partition...etc.

All goes perfectly well, until I reboot into my newly installed Squeeze.

After the messages from the bios motherboard, there is a black screen with a flashing cursor, and nothing else happens. Now it should have been the GRUB coming up and asking which system to boot into. But there is nothing at all on my screen.

I thought I've done something wrong during install, so I formated the disks again, and re-installed squeeze again. Just paying close attention to every message, before I went further.

And AGAIN, when rebooting into the system, there is nothing on the screen.
