Fedora :: No Text Pdf And Photo Preview In 13 (gnome)
Jun 13, 2010I have upgraded from fedora 12 to 13 and I noticed that gnome preview for OpenOffice documents, pdf files and photos is not working. For photos, after I open them with eog then preview is working.

Mar 6, 2016The searchfunction in Gnome 3 does not find the files in my DropBox. When searching it does find the DropBox folder, but not the files contained in them.
Dropbox folder is placed in /home/myusr/
All other subcontent folders in the home directory does show up in gnome search,
Went through Google and DuckDuckGo but was unble to find out how to manually change the places that the searchfunction indexes.

May 8, 2015I have created some new themes on my old squeeze machine using the gnome-appearance-properties tool. That program created a folder with the correct name in ~/.themes/. And it contains a single file (580 bytes) with the properties - theme (application/x-theme) which is unreadable. I need the gtkrc file for this theme but cannot find it anywhere! I searched /usr and /home and the entire file system. Where it might be hiding?

Feb 22, 2010I installed Debian Lenny on a Desktop computer for my wife, and am looking for an application to manage her photos.Specifically, what I'm looking for is a way to graphically display a file of thumbnails that reside in a specific folder and allow me to rearrange the order of them them as I see fit. The altered file would then be written back to the hard drive to be viewed with any photo viewer.

Which program do you people advice and why? I've been trying a couple (digikam/F-spot/Photoprint) but they didn't satisfy me. It seems that these programs lack some handy options like the tools for Windows i've been working with in the past.

Debian :: Only Installed Base System, Doesn't Find Package "gnome"?
Jun 28, 2010Well the topic name says it all. I only installed the base system and when I try "apt-get install gnome" it tells me it can't find package "gnome".Now, I'm actually to much of a noob to try to build my own Debian from the base system and up. But it still seems to be the easiest option.When I try "Debian GNU/Linux on CDs" I can't get online. I start Iceweasl but it just gives me that message telling me that it can't find the website I tried to enter (e.g www.google.com).When I try the net install I get "Bad Archive Mirror" at the configure apt part. I've tried searching your forums for this and it seems to happen to a lot of people but I still can't find a solution in any of those threads

Aug 18, 2011yesterday I tried to convert a file with ffmpeg and as usual I type the first letter of the file and hit tab to auto complete and nothing happened, I then cut and pasted the file name, no such file or directory I have 41 files in ~/videos and if I hit tab without choosing anything gnome terminal gives me the choice of just 1 file, ok just tried it again first time only 1 file second time 4 different files 1st file can't be found. I can't do anything from the command line, is anyone else seeing this odd behaviour ?
Edit: I just installed aterm and gnome terminal found some more files and now can't find them again, aterm seems to be removing the first 4 letters and replacing them with spaces
