how to keep all my history --online storage like xmarks problem is i m weird person and like to keep massing up with my pc.. so have to format it more than usual so keeping my important history is hard so is there anyway to keep it online
View 2 RepliesI want to know if there is any process to record the commands executed from CLI to be recorded in a diffrent file ONLINE.Meaning whenever anyone who is executing any command, the same should get recorded in /var/log/histlog online (as an administrator I want to keep a track of the username along with time and tty) from which the command is executed.I may use tail -f /var/log/histlog to check the commands executed online.I am using the RHEL5 with kernel as 2.6.18.I have used the lastcomm to check that, but donot find it very usefull as it prints extra informations also (not relevent) some commands which are executed internally by the system while loggin in by the user.

I'm looking for an offsite storage to backup a small collection of files, mostly documents, maybe around 2Gb total and encryption would be probably required. Nightly transfers would come from a Slackware 12.2 file server, but I can upgrade it to current version if needed.

View 8 Replies View RelatedI've been having some issues with the speed of firefox recently (on a netbook) and have been trying out other browsers such as chrome and midori. Currently I'm using xmarks, which fits my needs nicely however, I'm looking for an alternative that gives similar functionality and would allow me to access my bookmarks from several different computers (using both midori and chrome browsers).
xmarks has a development version for chrome, which is not working at the moment, and I cannot find any plans for xmarks in midori.
I am using squid proxy server for sharing Internet in my internal network. I would like to know that how can I check the browsing history by individual users web surfing history by their IP addresses?

However, it also returns results that haven't changed for some time, which is why I'd like to know if anything has changed since then. Namely, Safari. Despite only having used an actual Mac once, I like Safari, and so far have the Windows version working fine under Wine. However, one of the things stopping me using it more is add-ons. In Firefox, I use Xmarks. Xmarks supports Safari - on a Mac. To my knowledge, this is no Windows Safari version. So, if I can't run it on the Windows version for now, what I want to do is run the Mac one instead, and use it there, if possible. I suspect neither is actually possible, at least for now. But it's always nice to have confirmation.
View 4 Replies View RelatedIt's that simple. 1) through the toolbar, it's not one of the listed extensions.
2) going to xmark's website, and downloading it, it downloads a .xpi file. There is no where to place this file. there was no /usr/lib/mozilla/extensions folder, so i created it, and when adding the .xpi file, iceweasel didn't find it.
putting the stupid thing in /usr/bin/firefox/plugins also didn't work.
iceweasel is crap

I am trying to do the cluster storage with the Rock Cluster storage operating system . I have install the rock cluster on the main server . and I want to connect the client with the PXE boot . when I starting the client then it boot from the PXE boot into the mode of compute node. but it ask the where is to be stored the I have give the path..then server says that not able to find the directory path.
Steps:-
1) insert-ethers
2) client is started with the PXE boot.
3) it detects the dhcp .
4) At last it demand where is to be started by cd-rom, harddisk ,nfs etc.
then I started with the nfs and I have given the lanIp of server.and server is detecting the client but client is not finding the filesystem directory. into export partition directory but it is not taking path.
PATH:-
/export/rock/install it is not finding this path then it is not able to start the o/s from PXE boot..Is there any solution and manual of rock or anyother solution then u can reply to me...

You would run it after a few commands and it would clear them all.I can't find out how to do it with ZSH.

but since I've noticed it, it is now driving me crazy! Certainly not a "real" problem, but I want this history turned off, and I can't figure out how to do it. I've been searching the web and forums, no luck there either.
Just to be clear, I'm not talking about "recent documents" - I use that all the time, and know how to disable that if I wanted.

I use the friendly interactive shell, or fish, as my default shell. I find it much more user-friendly than bash, but lately (as in for the last 2 months, give or take)dding new entries to .config/fish/fish_history and .config/fish/fish_history.tmp. this means when I press up I don't get the last command I typed, but rather the last command from before the bug occurred. I have no idea why this could be and have tried several tricks but none of them have worked. I have made a bug report on launchpad but I was hoping someone here who knows more about shells would know a workaround.The things that I have tried:removing the files to see if it creates a new onemaking sure I have write access to the filesremoving the files and then using touch to create a blank one
