View 1 RepliesIs there any way to copy a diagram from Dia to OpenOffice?I tried copying and pasting, but that doesn't work. Is there any plugin that lets Dia copy the current screen as bitmap image? Also, I tried saving to jpg and png file and inserting into Openoffice, it always says "Graphics Filter not found". I didn't see any missing OpenOffice packages in synaptic, is there a special filter plugin I need to install to insert an image?

View 14 Replies View RelatedI need to create a simple diagram - basically, a small binary tree with labels on the nodes. I would probably posting that as a graphic illustration for a forum or blog post (but not at these forums).Looking at KDE menus, "gimp", "mtPaint", "LibreOffice draw" and "Inkscape" look as if they might be possibilities. When it comes to drawing, I'm am all thumbs (hopelessly incompetent). So what do you folk suggest as an easy way to get the job done.

View 4 Replies View RelatedDoes anyone know where I could find a block diagram of the Squeeze sound system with all the possible permutations thereof. I am primarily interested in OSS4 on a KDE4 desk top. I want something that shows all possible inputs, all possible outputs and all of the component programs in between. At this point I am really confused by all of the possible packages and how they interact with each other.
My present OSS4 installation works with oss4test, VLC, etc. but doesn't work with iceweasel. I have installed all of the recommended packages to no avail. I have an Intel DP55KG mother board with the Intel HD sound system on board.
can somebody tell me how to do so? i followed tuts everywhere , but at the last configure step it says that it doenst find a GTK higher than 2.2

I've been wanting to write a small program for personal purposes in GNOME using Anjuta. I've noticed something strange when I start a new project. I have various options, a GTK project, SDL, XLIB, and GNOME Applet, but no GNOME project? I have the GNOME development libraries installed as far as I know, but the option to create a GNOME 2 project just doesn't appear.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI recently installed Deluge 1.2.0 from the following PPA:[URL]I using this on two different Linux computers. One is running Linux Mint 8 and the other is running Ubuntu Netbook Remix 9.10. The first time on either computer when I enable WebUI in the Deluge GUI it works fine. However if I ever disable it in plugins section I am subsequently unable to re-enable it (doesn't appear in the side panel again). Rebooting or reinstalling Deluge seems to have no effect. Is this a bug or am I doing something wrong?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI wish to try the Anjuta IDE - I am running wheezy. Using Synaptic, libsvn1 is marked for installation, but produces a warning message that it is not authenticated.
I have seen other posts regarding this issue and would not want to be left with a broken system! I have also tried installing libsvn1 on its own and get the same message.
I am new to using Linux (Debian) and I wanted to install an IDE that covers all languages (C++, Java, SQL) so I decided to try Anjuta, but when I entered a simple "Hello World" code and tried to run it, I noticed that the Build > Compile selection was grayed out. I read on another forum that Anjuta can only compile projects so I switched to Geany, same problem. Do I have to install a compiler?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI am very new to Linux. I want to work on GTK. As I came from VB background, I want to use Anjuta IDE to start my design. I installed CYGWIN. When I am trying to install anjuta , I am getting error saying GLIB and Unique1.0 not found :
[Code]...
I've gone about as far as I can with this without trashing my system. I'm running Mint 10 LXDE with XFCE.
Ultimate objective: Install latest Anjuta 3.0 from source (not yet in repos). Anjuta ./configure reported a need for updated packages, such as GTK 3.0, Glib, Gio, etc. I downloaded GTK 3.0 and 'config' reported a need for an updated Glib. So I downloaded that and have installed it successfully (no prefixes; from home dir.)
But now GTK config is stating that it has found two versions of Glib, which I guess makes sense since I made no attempt to replace the old one. So, what is/was the proper way to replace the old Glib so there is only one version, or, is that a bad idea? Will some software still be dependent on the old Glib, or do the devs make the libraries backward compatible? Where do I go from here?

i got this simple example of a code, its basicly Anjuta Gtkmm empty project. [URL] and trying to connect button signal to a function at line 67, however i receive errors during compilation, and i dont know what's wrong error output [URL]

I am trying to install the IDS component barnyard2 on RHEL 5. I am following the snort enterprise insall document by Patrick Harper. For installing barnyard, after the tar command it says to perform a ./configure --enable-mysql The --enable-mysql does not work: configure: WARNING: unrecognized options: --enable-mysql --with-mysql does work. Is there a difference? Next, using --with-mysql, I get a failure at the end:
ERROR! Libpcap library/headers (libpcap.a (or .so)/pcap.h) not found, go get it from Open Source and Linux Forums dot tcpdump dot org TCPDUMP/LIBPCAP public repository or use the --with-libpcap-* options, if you have it installed in unusual place. Also check if your libpcap depends on another shared library that may be installed in an unusual place I do a find / -name libpcap* and get:
/usr/share/doc/libpcap-0.9.4
/usr/lib/libpcap.so.0.9.4
/usr/lib/libpcap.so.0
/usr/lib/libpcap.so.0.9
/usr/lib64/libpcap.so.0.9.4
/usr/lib64/libpcap.so.0
/usr/lib64/libpcap.so.0.9
How do I tell the configure to use one of the above? I don't understand how to use the --with-libpcap-* option?
I've been running 10.04 on a partition of my Dell laptop successfully for weeks. Now, I get the login screen, and when I give my username and password and click "Ok" it logs in, looks like X starts, then immediately goes back to the login screen with the drum sound (is that a bell?). If I type the wrong password, it doesn't log in, so I know it's getting past authentication.
I've tried logging in as one of several users.
I've tried running in recovery mode and running "clean", running "repair packages" (it downloaded and installed a lot of packages), running in safe graphics mode (failsafeX). None of those had any effect.
I've tried looking in /var/adm/messages and looking at X logs that are presented in safe graphics mode. I see tons of stuff, and none of it obviously stands out as an error.
It is likely almost out of disk (maybe 300M left?), but I can't find evidence that that is causing this problem.
I'd like to somehow repair my Ubuntu install without wiping it.
I would like to enable more tty's.
I am using Maverick Meerkat .
After reading some about it, it seems that I could copy and rename any
off tty /etc/init/ttyx.conf (expect tty1 which is special for security mode _and_ normal mode)
But after reboot whit tty12.conf - the screen went wired and a lot of error-messages was all over the screen, so I had to remove it again.
I followed these commands to disable pulseaudio in ubuntu 9.10 and now it seems I've broken gnome-volume-control. How can I go about undoing these changes???
