Ubuntu :: Unable To Open OpenGL

Sep 17, 2010

I'm trying to run a program called Alice 3.0. When I load the program, it crashes at the splash screen. I ran it in terminal, and this is the error message I received:

UNABLE TO LOAD OPENGL The most common reason for this is an incorrectly set Java library path. Please update your VM arguments. The text below has been copied to the clipboard for your convenience. Linux-i386

Software :: Open-source 3D Benchmark For Both OpenGL And Direct3D?

Dec 26, 2010

I'm searching for an open-source benchmark for both OpenGL and Direct3D, i.e. to be able to compare OpenGL and Direct3D performance in WINE (and find the bottlenecks).Currently i only know Unigine benchmarks to support both of the APIs, but it's closed-source.I don't necessarily need all those shaders etc. support - just basic 3D (i.e. the features which existed in video cards of year 2002) benchmarking would be enough for now.Do there exist any open-source benchmarks for this?

Fedora :: Wine/opengl/32 To 64 Bit - Cannot Load OpenGL When Try To Start WoW

Oct 19, 2009

I just upgraded from FC8 (32-bit) to FC11 (64-bit). In doing so, I backed up my entire World of Warcraft folder so I could try to avoid having to download and install it all over again. However, I've now reinstalled wine (64-bit now), and the nvidia drivers from the rpmfusion repos (also 64-bit), and when I try to start WoW, it says it cannot load OpenGL. I'm wondering if anyone knows what's up, and if there's a solution that doesn't involve reinstalling WoW.

OpenSUSE Install :: Cannot Open ConsoleKit Session: Unable To Open Session

Apr 11, 2010

The following message comes up when I boot up: Logging in user Warning: Cannot open ConsoleKit session: Unable to open session: Launch helper exited with unknown return code 0. When I press OK, the system completes the start up and everything looks normal. But when I try to connect to internet, I get the following message:

KNetworkManager cannot start because the installation is misconfigured. System DBUS policy does not allow it to provide user settings; contact your system administrator or distribution. KNetworkManager will not start automatically in future. If I reboot the system, I logg in successfully. So far the problem has appeared approximately upon every second time I boot up. Rebooting the system seems to take care of it.

Don't know what info is of interest. I'm using

Opensuse 11.2
KDE 4.4.2 (Factory)
After upgrade from 4.4.1 to 4.4.2 it worked fine for a week or so.

Ubuntu Installation :: Unable To Open /dev/sda/ And More

Aug 12, 2011

After attempting to install Ubuntu 11.04 (both 86 and 64) from a disc, I get the following errors on the 'Ubuntu 11.04' (underneath: dots) screen.

Code:

unable to open /dev/sda/
unable to open /dev/sdb/
and eventually...

Code:

No init found. try passing init= bootarg. After which I am thrown into 'BusyBox' (initramfs) ash.

CPU: Intel Core i7 2600K
HDDs: 2x Western Digital Caviar Black 1TB on AHCI (tried IDE and a RAID0 array)
GFX: HD Radeon 6970 2GB
RAM: 4GB (2x2) Kingston HyperX Genesis 1600Mhz @ 1333Mhz

The 86 disc lets me try ubuntu, and even begin installing it... but fails at the part where it must install a bootloader. I'm guessing that my drives either don't exist as SDA/SDB, or haven't been set up correctly.
