I'm running Ubuntu 10.04 with a complete LAMP installation (for local developement purpose).
Everything is OK (I installed phpMyAdmin without problems) except for one big problem: php shows 500 server internal error instead of a complete error report.
I tried editing php.ini and in-script runtime configuration but nothing changed.
I use web server apache use php fastcgi (Centos 5.2, apache 2.2.9 , php 5.2.5 and fcgi-2.2.4 ). I receive error : "The server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration and was unable to complete your request. contact the server administrator, no-reply@zz.vn and inform them of the time the error occurred, and anything you might have done that may have caused the error. I'm trying to make some pages. For this I try to host them locally. However, when I have an error in my PHP code, the server shows an internal error 500 page and doesn't show on what line and what compile error it encountered. There is no such information in the error log either. What should I do about it, it's not really nice to comment all the lines and then try to uncomment them one by one. I've been googling for a while, but didn't find anything.. I forgot to mention, I;m using Fedora :P, the apache that came with it and mysql and php from the repository...

i have installed nagios in centos 64 bit. but i get this error CHECK_NRPE: Error - Could not complete SSL handshake. i have totally 10 hostgroup definitions. but i'm getting error for only 3 hostgroup definitions other 7 are working fine.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm only partially new to Linux. I'm running Fedora 11. I've just set up two machines, I thought to be identical. Evidently I missed something. I had some problems getting the network started on the second machine, and I must have forgotten a name change somewhere. Anyway, after doing lot's of comparisons between the boxes, editing and renaming and re-linking the ifcfg-GigaStorey file, they are both functioning. The problem is that whenever I start or restart the network on box 2, it reports the following error:
Bringing up interface GigaStorey: RTNETLINK answers: File exists
Error adding address 192.168.1.6 for eth0.
[ OK ]
The file ifcfg-GigaStorey is linked in the following directories
/etc/sysconfig/network-scripts
/etc/sysconfig/networking/devices

Like I said, it's not super critical, just annoying. The networking comes up ok, but the error is puzzling. I figure if I learn what this problem is I'll be one step closer to my Linux beanee.
I set up a DNS server, and it works fine when being queried from other hosts.But if I query it from localhost (by using nslookup), it reports error:

I'm currently setting up a dell server with hardware raid 1 on sas 6r. i got 4 sas installed on the server and configured to raid 1 as stated below,
array 1:
slot 0 & 1
array 2:
slot 2 & 3
during the installation, the installer detect the array 2 as sda and array 1 as sdb.. so i proceed with installation on array 2. after completed the installation, the first reboot lead me to a 'grub-rescue" prompt. by following the guide at url Mode, i've noticed that the boot folder has changed to (hd1,1), which i believe it has changed to sdb1. default root device shows that prefix=(hd0,1)/grub.

I have mounted a windows share folder on /mnt. When i gave any directory within /mnt/ to stat function it fails with errorno 75. perror shows "Value too large for defined data type". Example 1 is fail but Example 2 works fine.

All operation result in a seperate window displaying the progress of the compression but with an error.
Error 127, cannot execute requested operation.
Then when the progress bar reaches full it resets and then resets again continuing the same loop with it becoming slower with every repetition. There is no information posted in the report log of the window. Except that the task has started.
I'm trying to simply archive a file and password protect it. This shouldent be such a difficult task.
P7zip also gives me its own set of errors when archiving.

When i try to connect to my server via port 443 i get a connection refused error. However when i try to connect via port 22 it connects. Since that didn't work, i tried restarting the entire server.To restate, i changed the config file and restarted ssh then the computer, however the port didn't change.Ohh and yes my router is set to port forwarding on port 443, though it doesn't matter since I'm inside the network.

I recently setup a new server that serves files over samba and is a subversion repository for a number of projects. I did a simple apt-get update/upgrade for which the system requested a reboot. After I rebooted, I got to the login prompt, at which point I ran into a problem. After I enter my correct credentials, it spits out the following error:
sh: error while loading shared libraries libc.so.6: cannot open shared object file: Error 24
and returns me to the login prompt. Samba and Subversion are both still working, I simply can't login to the server either physically or via SSH.
What steps should I be taking to correct this issue? My thoughts are that I may need to use a Live CD to load the system and perhaps do another update, but before I go through that process I just wanted to check in and see if there might be some other solution.
I have tried googling the issue, and while I have seen other posts regarding shared library issues, there was never anything about not being able to login and I never did find anything specific to the error message I received.
When running Update Manager I am given an error message and it won't complete the update. I tried uninstalling the program clementine.

I have openssh installed and it works great right out of the box. However, I don't want people accessing everything on my machine. My machine is behind NAT and ufw firewall. I have configured both so that port 22 is open. I've added the new users I want to have limited access and assigned them to group "sambashare" (just because its convenient.)
When the bottom bit of my config file "/etc/ssh/sshd_config" is set as shown below, everything works great:

Whenever I make the change to enable "ChrootDirectory" so that it limits the users access, I simply remove the # and it looks like this:

However, thats when I start running into problems. When I try logging in with Filezilla; I am not able to connect and this is the response I get from Filezilla:

I am getting the same errors everytime I boot the server up:
Error: no such device {SOME-UUID}
Error: no suck disk
After that the system boots normally, but Im afraid ignoring this error can make my system crash in the future. I figured it was a grub error and I tried the update-grub2 command, it does detect all installed kernels no problem, but after I reboot I get the same error message.

I've been trying to install Ubuntu Server onto Microsoft Virtual Server at the request of my boss, and I've been having an issue I cannot seem to work around. Now my background on Ubuntu and linux in general isnt amazing, I have configured server at home to act as a file sharing platform and a media server, but thats about it.

Does any one know what this error mean. From what I can gather, it's looking for the phpize when the module is to be installed, however, how can I put the phpize file (or link) in the top level of the source directory before I have the source?
I have server 10.04 running, and I modified my fstab file to automatically mount an NTFS partition on startup, but after a reboot, I see that I clearly did something wrong, as now it will not boot. The output is:

View 2 Replies View RelatedI've had Dovecot up and running for months now without any problems whatsoever. Came in this morning and suddenly I can't connect to it. Thunderbird hangs with "Checking mail server capabilities..." and Windows Mail spits out the following error:

Thing is, I'm not using TLS/SSL and have changed exactly nothing since the server was set up. I've tried having the mail clients use SSL/TLS in response to the above error, but that changed nothing.
I have a Godaddy UCC (Multiple domain) certificate for the following domains:
example.com
upload1-example.com
upload2-example.com
The rsa was generated from example.com server using example.com as CN Common name.
GoDaddy's website adds the extra names to a CSR you provide, does the checks and grants the cert.
My problem is that whilst the certificate works fine on the server example.com (from which the csr was created), it comes up with two errors when restarting apache on remote servers.
1>> Certificate common name does not match server name
2>> SSL Library error - check private key:key missmatch.
I donn't understand how these keys could ever work as no reference to the private keys of the remote servers is ever used in creating the UCC certificate.
