View 7 RepliesI have installed Skype 2.1 (Beta) in linuxmint Julia, now when I am communicating with anyone or video conferencing, I am able to hear the other person but the other person is unable to hear my voice, I talked with someone else who is facing the same problem in Ubuntu.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have Ubuntu 9.10 trying to get yahoo voice chat to work. Thing I have tried is Gyache now everything works but I cant talk. I can hear but not talk. When I hit the talk button the program goes grey. I have wine installed with Yahelite but when I open up YahVox I get the box open and no one is in there. Ycabby does not work for so I download the three cabs and extracted the files and copped the files to the system32 folder. I tried to the mighty google but I get a whole lot of nothingness.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI just installed ubuntu 10.04 on my laptop. Everything works well, but I have problem with sound. Output is OK as I can hear any sound from the computer; but there is no input sound from the mic. I am unable to record any voice or talk in voice chat.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI am having a problem when using Flash. Whenever I am listening to a Flash application (..... primarily), I am unable to hear sound from any other applications (Rhythmbox, movie player, etc).
The converse is also true, if I am using Rhythmbox, and then start ....., the video plays...but with no sound. I have to manually kill the app and web browser (tried multiple...Firefox, Chrome, Swiftfox) to get sounds working correctly. I am my wits end with this problem, and have just putting up with it for several months now.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI'm running Ubuntu 9.10 (Karmic Koala) with Skype, and I can't get the microphone to work. I can hear them, but they can't hear me. I tried the same headset with my Windows system, and it works fine, so the headset is OK.
I looked at "Sound Preferences", and noticed that when I click on the "Input" tab, the area where you can adjust the volume is set at the minimum, and grayed out, so I can't adjust it.
One issue that I'm having with Fedora that's stopping me from dropping Windows altogether is that I can't seem to get my audio in line to play directly to my speakers.
Basically, I've got my games console set up so that it uses the desktop computer's speakers as audio output, and is also plugged in to the same monitor and I can change the source depending on what I want to use it for.
I know the hardware works, as the whole thing works fine when using Windows (XP SP3), and I can still record from the audio in line using Fedora (so I can record me playing the game, then play it back and hear it through the speakers), but I've got no idea as to how to redirect the game sounds directly to the speakers.
Interestingly, every tutorial I've found so far suggests that the opposite should be the problem, and that the situation that I want to be in should be enabled by default. That said, I've been tinkering with the audio packages and whatnot long before I tried using the machine for gaming, so maybe I managed to inadvertently remove a package some time ago.
I Bought a new PC. In that I have installed dual OS ( windows 07 and ubuntu ( lucid). In ubuntu I Tried to play the mp3 songs from internet using firefox (3.6.x). But my speaker hasn't produce the sound ( I am using external speakers). I can play ..... videos, games and things like that, during this time my speaker will produce the sound.
But If I try to play mp3 songs from the net, It hasn't produce any sound. I can't hear the sound using head set also for this mp3 songs. What may be the problem please help me ?
PC configuration:
=> core 2 due processor
=> intel 41 rq motherboard
( I am not using external sound cared, Only in-build sound card)
=> samsung sata hardisk
=> OS ( windows 7 and ubuntu 10.4 lucid )
=> Using external speaker and head-set
Note: Same problem in windows 07 too. 2 days before it has worked perfectly. But I have done some changes in sound setting in windows, Then this problem started. Still I am confusing. I can't play the song in both side ( ubuntu and windows) after done that changes.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm having an issue where I can't hear any sounds in Ubuntu 10.04 (64-bit). In the Sounds Preferences, under Hardware it correctly lists "SB X-Fi Xtreme Audio". The sound is not muted, and I've tried cycling through various Profile options in the hardware tab. Since it is correctly detected, I'm thinking that there might be something simple that I'm missing here. The motherboard is an MSI P6N Diamond: [URL]

I was wondering if there exists a software that can change your voice over Skype (acting as a virtual sound driver in order to change the sound in real time). It would be nice because I really want one of these.
View 1 Replies View RelatedWell, I enjoy the show Stargate SG-1, and I was wondering if there was any way I could get my voice to sound like that of a Goa'uld or Tok'ra while I am talking on Skype.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI want to do some amateur voice over works. I need an audio editor that can also play the video simultaneously to sync with the character's lip movements.The problem is my video sources are in h264 mkv, I guess it is not very friendly with many softwares.
Here's what I've searched (tried some of them too) and the results:LiVES -> can't compile with kernel 2.6.38, the offered patch (in sf) rejected (maybe different source file from the one specified in the patch)Cinerella, can't accept mkv or mp4. (after that I tried to get the source video loaded to Cinerella)x264, transcoding to lower the resolution -> no avi container output, sync problem with raw h264 stream outputavidemux_qt, trying to mux the transcoded video to avi -> crashed with h264 input video, either in elementary stream or matroska format (I doubt Cinerella will accept avi videos with h264 codec, if I could ever make one)ffmpeg, transcode from h264 to xvid -> shared library error: libavutil.so.49 not found xvidenc shell script -> no mencoder (I'm using mplayer2)
When I'm in mozilla, and click to listen a link that contains a sound (mp3 for example), it doesn't play. For example, when i'm in [URL], and click to Listen, it doesn't play why?

I have a problem regarding speech recording and i couldn't find a way around it. I want to record voice while at the same time processing it. Let me explain some more, what i want to do is to keep on speaking and it should be recorded in a file which i can process at the same time. If somebody knows of any such program or way to do this(like some code in C which can auto direct the recorder to keep on recording and saving).

I can hear myself speak in the mic but Ubuntu is not recording/capturing the sound. Actions Taken: I followed all the steps listed here for the Alsa update script. I've also tried changing my /etc/modprobe.d/alsa-base.config file with the following configurations one at a time.

My capture settings are 'on' in alsamixer as in they are in red with the words CAPTURE underneath it.

View 9 Replies View RelatedI'm running Ubuntu Maverick on an Intel H55 mobo. I have the sound configured to output through speakers on my monitor, via HDMI. That has been working fine. Last night I installed Skype (2.1.0.81) in order to chat to someone back in UK. When I go to the sound devices configuration in Skype, each of the devices (Microphone, Speakers and Ringing) only have a single choice: 'PulseAudio server (local)'.
In order to get my usb-connected phone handset working with Skype I have had to go to the main sound preferences and alter both input and output to '9980 Analog'. This works fine - I can make a Skype test call and playback my own voice. However, all my system sounds now go out on the usb phone handset - also the Skype ring goes to the handset, which is pretty useless because it can't be heard from more than a couple of feet away.
How can I make Skype use the 9980 device for voice in and out, and use the system speakers 'Internal Audio Digital (HDMI)' for the ringing, while leaving all the system sounds to go out on the HDMI output too? I'm sure that I managed to make Skype work much better on an older system (using Gutsy, or Intrepid???). It seems, to me that there is a lack of fine audio control in my system.
1. a decent screen recorder where i can crop to my designated x and y co-ordinates.
2. how will i record my voice and my partners voice via skype.
3. a good video editing software, where i can pan/crop and upload to videos with full 720p hd.
