View 1 RepliesI want to use Kazam Screencaster to record my vids, but it goes to the tray when you record, and I don't use a panel (my desktop is the very definition of minimalistic. I just use all shortcuts and terminal.)
is there any way I can record/stop it with the terminal?
So i just upgraded to ubuntu 9.10 and unlike ubuntu 9.04 its able to connect to my wireless N router. BUT if im making tutorials for ubuntu ill need a desktop recorder. unfortunately on the ubuntu software centre it wont let me install RecordMyDesktop.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI've been playing around with my settings for ages now but I cant get GTK-recordmydesktop to record anything other than my mic. Ideally I need the mic and the computer sounds to be recorded, any ideas how this can be done? I've googled around but nothing really helpful comes up. Also, if you need my hardware info, just tell me the command and i'll post the results.

View 2 Replies View RelatedDoes Recordmydesktop have a file size limit? I'm considering using the Zero compression setting to keep CPU usage down, but I don't want to run up against a 2GB or 4GB file size limit. While I know some filesystems impose this limit, most screen recorders I've used have a 2GB or 4GB limit when recording, regardless of the filesystem. Is this an issue with Recordmydesktop
View 1 Replies View RelatedI am going to cover these four problems in this thread.
1.)Using gtk-recordMyDesktop and xvidcap for recording videos
2.)Saving files in ogv format
3.)Converting ogv to avi or wmv or ?
4.)Uploading ogv video to .....
First, I am using Ubuntu 10.04 and have installed gtk-recordMyDesktop and it works great. Save a nice clear video with good sound. I can play it right from my system and also from my server but I can not upload it to ...... Maybe I should say I can't upload a good video to ...... It uploads OK but it is un-viewable. Just to make sure it wasn't a Ubuntu problem I tried uploading it from Windows 7. Same thing. The next thing I tried was to convert it to another file format and even before I uploaded it, it was un-viewable. (looked the same as when it was uploaded to .....). I tried the conversion in a Windows program called AVS and I also tried doing it with VLC in Ubuntu. VLC just give me a blank file after converting. I don't think the problem is with ..... but with the file itself. To be honest with you I believe the video is high quality but I don't see how I can put them on ...... Has anyone converted ogv files to another format which looks good and can be uploaded to .....? Has anyone uploaded a ogv file to ..... and have it look good? Does anyone know anything I can try to get a good viewable file up to ...... I tried recording a video with xvidcap and get a good video and it looks good on ..... but I can't get the sound to work with it. All I get is clicking in the video. File is in mpeg format.
Here is a youtub video to show you the un-viewable video.[URL]..
I've been trying to make screencast, but I also want it to capture the sound coming from the computer; In other words, I do not mean the microphone. I tried changing the sound device from DEFAULT to pulse with no avail

View 1 Replies View RelatedI am currently trying to start doing some screen casting and having a problem with audio recording in gtk-recordmydesktop. The problem is that I need to record both; my computers audio card output, and my mic input at the same time. As of now I am able to record one or the other.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI recently loaded Inkscape on my 11.3/kde4.6 system.I have Inkscape 0.48 loaded, had same issues with 0.47. Program functionality is fine, except for printing. When attempting output to either a laser or inkjet, the output has excessive margins and appears to be formatted for A4, not letter. The print drivers are set for US-letter.I have seen references to Inkscape using gtk-printing or gnome-printing. I do not see packages with this specific naming available via yast. The printers work fine from GIMP, OpenOffice, etc.I also have loaded Inkscape to Win32 box, open file from 11.3 box, and have similar issues, margins seem set to large offsets, but there is no place in the page setup to set margins. My solution so far has been to save to PDF, then print from Ocular, which does work, just cumbersome.

ok, everything worked fine after a fresh 10.04 install, and after some days now i suddenly got several disconnects from the wifi somehow (all other devices in house does not get disconnected, so its a local issue), tried to restart networking, and when i reboot, it works for some hours, then cuts of again. but, after the latest reboot, the sound card is "gone" i suddenly have no sound and a wifi that disconnects at will 13:24 everything worked 110% in all previous ubuntu versions

View 3 Replies View RelatedI have a whitebox server with three network adapters, two gigabit adapters using the intel 82573V chips, and an intel pro/100 adapter based on the 82562 chip. These are embedded on an MSI motherboard. None are passing traffic.I initially booted the box using a Knoppix 5.0.1 CD, and the NICs worked fine. When I installed CentOS 5.4, no joy.Interestingly, Intel recommends the e1000e driver (which I am using), but the Knoppix CD used the e1000 driver. Anyway, I pulled an updated e1000e driver from elrepo, installed it, and verified that it was in use with 'ethtool --driver eth2', and the correct driver/version was displayed.
Symptoms are no traffic passes, rx/tx packet counts in ifconfig are both 0 (no errors, either). Routing table looks fine; three routes: one for 169.x.x.x, 172.16.x.x (my subnet), and one for 0.0.0.0, all destined for eth2, and all up. When I ping 127.0.0.1, and the local adapter address, I get good replies. As soon as I ping a remote host on my subnet, I get 'Destination host unreachable'. Now, at one point, I actually got it to work. I applied a small patch from Intel to change a value in the EEPROM, rebooted as instructed, and the adapter came up and passed traffic. I did a 'yum update' to update my packages, and shortly thereafter, everything stopped working again.
How I would capture on-screen audio AND my webcam audio at the same time.(My webcam seems to rely on pulse).
View 1 Replies View RelatedI downloaded the 10.10 desktop version. Everything seems to work fine except Firefox. Sure, I can get on, but getting out is something of a chore. Half the time the page freezes and won't allow me to try anything else.
I tried: Clicking on the red "X" = nothing
Right-clicking on the page and selecting "Back" = nothing
Right-clicking on the task bar and selecting "Close" = nothing
Restarting the computer = nothing
The only way to get out when that happens, is to hold down the "Power" button. I know it's not good for the computer, but being held hostage in Firefox is not good for my patience. Even that is a crap-shoot. Sometimes it boots back up fine, only to resume what happened before the power went out when I log back into Firefox. Sometimes it won't let me out until I scan back to the main page by using the arrows one page at a time. This kind of thing never happened when I had the 9.04.
I'm having some problems with flash in mozilla and chrome. video playback is fine but none of the buttons are working.for example i cant pause or change the volume. pretty sure my flash is up to date. i have ubuntu netbook remix on another pc without this same problem.
