Ubuntu Multimedia :: Embedded Flash Not Showing On Specific Site

I'm running xubuntu 10.04 32bit on this particular machine, and have embedded flash video from blip.tv not showing in my browsers (Chromium daily, and Firefox). The site in question is [URL] These videos show on my other machines, including other Ubuntu 10.04 installs, however nothing loads on my machine. By inspecting the element is still see it in the source code:

Just doesn't display. I'm using the standard flashplugin-installer package, and have tried reinstalling it with no luck. I've also tried going directly to blip.tv and they do not display either. Embedded videos from other sites play fine, it's just blip.tv. They also do not display or load on the blip.tv site.

Originally, the embedded flash video played just fine on Ubuntu 9.10 by Adobe Reader 9.0. However, when the same video was replayed on an upgraded Ubuntu 10.10, the video part was fine fine while the audio couldn't be heard. Anyone encountered the same problem? Anyway to fix it?

Iceweasel, Konqueror, makes no difference. Embedded flash videos make them crash every time. I had to install Flash Control on Iceweasel just to make it usable.

In [URL] I can right-click on a flash video and have the option to access "local settings" under "Settings" to specify configuration for webcam, mic, etc. But in Facebook I need to adjust a setting and the "Setting" option for local config is gray-ed out, I can't access it.
I'm running OpenSUSE 11.4, and I've seen this in GNOME and KDE within Firefox.

I recently started using the Debian operating system, and I became aware that many people associated with MIT are working on this project. Why does this webpage require closed-source software to view the lectures? Specifically I am having trouble with http://mitworld.mit.edu/video/861
I see that the site requests access to google-analytics and/or hitbox is that necessary to view the information? And can I watch with a non-Adobe flash player?

So, if i want to embed a video stream on my site and use the one that the company provides, it has ugly colors that clash with my website.And, if i do Internet searches for a customizable one that allows color changes, the results i get are to download windows programs.Can you direct me to on on-site code generator or a linux download that generates color-customizable FLV/SWF shockwave flash Players? So that i may use my own Embed GUI with the proper color that matches my website. I cannot seem to find one on my own.

By a fifty fifty chance chromium doesn't open embedded flash elements. Audio works but the embedded flash element shows just black.
Refreshing the page fix this again by %50 chance.
But there's no problem with Firefox because I think it uses the Adobe Flash Player (the one in the repo) but Chromium uses the an built-in flash player.
Is there a way to fix this problem? Or a way to disable Chromium's built-in flash player and use the Adobe's flash player?

I have installed Flash (via Synaptic Package manager, �flashplugin-installer� and flashplugin-nonfree) on Ubuntu 9.10, 64-bit. When I attempt to view / interact with embedded flash objects in HTML pages using FireFox 3.5.8 I find that they are unresponsive to my mouse clicks (though mouse-over seems to work). For example, if I would like to start an embedded flash movie, I cannot click the play button, nor can I control any of the other mouse-click controls. Also, on occasion, the entire flash object will not display at all but will instead just leave a big white space on the web page.
I do not have any flash-blocking ad-ons installed. When I first installed flash I experienced this problem but was able to temporarily fix it by downloading the 64-bit version of flash 10 from Adobe, [URL] and manually copy-pasting this file into FireFox's Plugins folder (which I had to create myself in the mozilla folder). Immediately after doing this flash objects work properly in FireFox, but upon restarting my computer I find that the almost always problem re-occurs and I have to remove and then re-copy the 64-bit plugin into the plugins folder again to get it to work. FireFox is my primary browser, but on occasion I will use Google Chrome and have not experienced this same problem with viewing flash objects.

In the following site I cannot see the video stream:[URL]...Choosing "TW1 Livestream" should gives a video stream, but it gives a black screen. Clicking on that black windows gives a text: Waiting for video.
A German text shows that the actual Version from Windows Media Players should be installed.In the past I could see video there, but after an upgrade it does not work any more.Looking in aboutlugins I see following Windows Media Player plugins:

I am running a basic squid + privoxy combo for web caching/filtering proxy and it works fine. I'm basically running a stock config w/ a few minor edits to allow the relevant hosts access etc.now I am trying to find an easy way to specify privoxy to not filter a specific site (which it breaks). I have tried wading through the privoxy manual + google but I find the config file incredibly complicated. Are there any experts out there who can tell me: what is the easiest way to tell privoxy to 'pass through' a specific website?

I just got an email from google saying my site contained malware. It has a line in it: "<script src='http://whitepix.info/3'></script>". I've noticed its recursively in all my .html and .txt files in my website. Can I make a linux script to run that will go through all my .html and txt files recursively and delete that line from them? I don't know how it got in all of them.

I've developed a tiny webserver for home automation out of an ALIX 1D, and based on a debian lenny. It runs very smoothly and is now able to operate quite a lot of different equipment from a webapp. But i'm not sure how I should handle the compact flash, regarding read/write limitations. From what I've read the partitioning should be ext2, which would disallow the journalisation of the system. A utility to 'flatten' the repartition of write cycles exists, would it be relevant to use if the partition is ext2 ?
I will also disable all logging in execution mode (a debug mode will provide the logs). Is there any other parameters I have to take into account for maximum reliability (i.e. does the system randomly write in some files for various and potentially turned off purposes)? As for the mysql database, it's not important data, and it's actually reconstructed every time the server boots. Given this, is there a way to store the db in RAM rather than in a file? I'm not sure it's the right place to ask, but I sometimes see redirection to here from stack overflow.

At 1 of the computers I have a problem with a certain internet site. Maybe other sites give problems too, but I'm not aware of that. I get this problem with the following site [URL] At the other computers the site is interactive. Normally you could enter an address on the left and also place markers on the map at the right. On the other computers everything works fine. But on this certain computer, the site still indicates that it is loading, and nothing else happens.
I uninstalled flash, firefox, and java. I also remove the folders .mozilla, and .macromedia, restarted the computer, and installed firefox again. Then I installed macromedia flash and java. But when I started that certain site, the problem exists. At last, I installed Google Chromium. With this browser everything works fine.

When I use the BBC site, I see messages "Cannot play media.You do not have the correct version of the flash player. Download the correct version"..However, when I go to Applications > Ubuntu Software Centre, I get the message, "Adobe Flash Player is installed on this computer. It is used by 1 piece of installed software"If I try to use the Firefox Adobe add-ins feature, I'm directed to the Adobe page. Is it safe to use this feature rather than, for example, Synaptic Package Manager?

I recently acquired a few japanese anime which have English subtitles. All the videos are in .mp4 format. They have embedded subtitles (though not hardsubbed, since I can turn them off). My question is how do I edit and re-embed these subtitles, since the translations are less-than-perfect?

I use EasyTAG to edit the tags of my music. I believed I could also use EasyTAG to remove embedded album art, but this is not entirely the case.EasyTAG appears able to remove references to an embedded image so that the image will not appear in audio players and tag editors. However, the image must still exist within the audio file because the file size remains exactly the same. Contrast this with Mp3tag where removing album art also decreases the audio file's size.My question: is this a bug on EasyTAG's part? If so, what Linux program could I use instead?

ATI has a driver listed for Linux x64 for the Radeon x1250 and this is what happens when you run it, I got the same results with Fedora 12 also. Ubuntu runs GREAT on my laptop, but 3D acceleration would be nice, if I can get this driver, I will be set free of Microsoft almost completely. Any ideas? Please do not suggest I buy a new laptop, its a Turon X2 and its powerful enough for me.

SO, its clear that I have no 3d acceleration, my second display is all garbled like the refresh rates isnt being applied properly, and It would seem some lame generic driver is loaded for my GPU, does anyone have any idea if and when or where a proper Hardware driver for the x1250 series will be released?

I use a flash drive for regular back up and other work and this has been very successful until two days ago. None of my USB flask drives are showing in the Places menu when I connect them. I have a dual boot with Mint and they work perfectly in Mint. A few days ago I was unsuccessfully trying to get my Broadcom wifi card to work and was following threads to install and uninstall various firmware programs. I am not sure if this caused the loss of the USB drive. When I go into System Profiler and Benchmark nothing is showing under USB devices.

My sound is otherwise working fine, but for some reason i'm not getting any sound when running java applets. This issue is very important to me, i would -really- like to get the sound back on this applet.it's a java runtime environment applet, running in embedded in firefox. Somehow, the systems isn't detecting it as a application outputting sound.
i tried uninstalling the sound manager application via synaptic, selected the 'completely remove' option, and wound up uninstalling essentially the entire OS last weekend. i'd like to not repeat that mishap, as i lost all my data.

I've got the latest version of Flash installed,and it works most of the time,t occasionally a video or game will stop working and the area it was in will just turn into a grey box. Usually it only does this if I leave the page the video's on, but it keeps doing it when I'm playing Robot Unicorn Attack on Adult Swim's site, too

I'm running apache2 on Hardy and Karmic machines. I converted some .flv's to .wmv's using VLC and embedded them in my index.html file. Now, when I go to view them from Vista machines (32 or 64, IE or Firefox), they look compressed or skinny like this: [URL] When viewed on other Ubuntu or XP machines, they look fine.

i've had ubuntu 10.04 for almost 2 months and when i first installed all the media codecs and used chromium everything worked fine and I was able to watch videos on [URL] but for past 2 weeks I haven't...there's been no change to my files, justed updated Chromium. I can view .mov video's in the media players or if I have the direct address but not embedded.

I have had quite a bit of trouble now getting flash to work on only one of my machines, the others work just fine. I have installed the flashplugin-installer, ran the .deb from abobe.com, gotten the whatever.so and put it into my firefox folder, tried disabling compiz and now I'm getting frustrated.

I have a load of Maxell 2GB flash drives which I bought new.
It has a Public Partition and a Secure partition on the flash drive.
gparted and disk utility see it as 2 volumes. I need remove the 2MB secure partition to make the 2GB stick bootable. However since it's showing up as 2 volumes I can't see how to do it. Probably requires totally wiping the flash drive.
Can anyone recommend how I go about this?

I failed to install flash-plugin on my firefox My firefox is installed on path "/home/<<user>>/firefox"
1) I tried to install flash plugin by rpm -Uvh flash-plugin-10.0.32.18-release-i386.rpm It is not working as the files are not installed on the folder /home/<<user>>/firefox/
2) yum install flash-plugin It returns "nothing to do"
3) I extracted and copied the files in the rpm to /home/<<user>>/firefox/flash-plugin then create a link by ln -s /home/<<user>>/firefox/flash-plugin/libflashplayer.so /home/<<user>>/firefox/plugins/libflashplayer.so When I open the firefox, it crashed.
How could I install this plugin manually?

So I made a text file on a windows machine and brought it home on a flashdrive. When I opened it in PCMan File manager it did not show, but executing ls in a terminal shows the text file just fine. It is the only one that appears to be missing in PCManfm. I've had a similar problem going the other direction (Linux to Windows, but with pdfs) many months ago. here is ls -l
