I am having difficulty connecting to a Dell Axim Pocket PC that is running Windows Mobile 2003 2nd Edition.According to the Ubuntu documentation Connecting to an Windows Mobile 2003 or PocketPC Device. I need to install synce-dccm, synce-serial and librra0-tools packages.
Synaptic Package Manager > Search > synce-dccm
result = nothing found
I have installed synce-serial
Synaptic Package Manager > Search > librra0-tools
result = nothing found
When I connect the device via USB
dccm: command not found
synce-serial-start could not find the serial port /dev/ttyUSB0
All I want to do is recover some files, not synchronize my PC with the device.
I just installed wine 1.1.2.3 and I tried to run pocket tanks 1.3, but it fails. I think it has to do with the offscreenrenderingmode and needs this [HKEY_CURRENT_USERSoftwareWineDirect3D] "OffscreenRenderingMode"="backbuffer" However, that winedirect3d does not exist. The only things that do are fonts, drivers and occasionaly X11 and temperorary system settings Where did it go? What, if anything, Should I do? I could be completely wrong. Anyone have pocket tanks running successfully?
i have hosted three websites on a computer at home on debian. i use ServerName directive for each site to map it to the desired dir. For example there are kdelchev.com and webtut.org on the same IP(95.111.108.148).
When i try to open any of my sites eg. kdelchev.com with my pocket pc (Asus P535) it displays carstatistics.eu, instead the site i want. Is that an apache misconfiguration? And what have to change to make it working?
I'm currently a windows xp user but am making the switch over to something open source. My friend said fedora is excellent and so I might give it a shot granted I can get my aaxa p2 pocket projector to work on it. I use my laptop for a LOAD of presentations so it is of the utmost important that my OS can sync my projector. here is what I need it to do:
in those pictures, it is simply acting as a USB drive where I can drag and drop images from my desktop on to the projector itself. This is what I need it to do on the fedora platform as well. I want to say it should work no problem but i am unsure. I know the easiest answer would be to stick to windows because it works, but i'm sick and tired of having to reformat my computer every year because it becomes so cluttered with windows attacking spy/malware and viruses.
I've even been thinking about moving over to a *gasp* mac for this issue, but I hear that macs don't sync up to the aaxa projector very well. there is info on the site but i can't find any support so someone with more experience might be able to find it. [URL]..
oh, and I ask if it would recognize as a monitor because if I can't just put files directly on, i suppose I can throw it VGA to VGA and dual monitor my presentations - this is worser case scenario.
I'm trying to accomplish a connection between my slackware installation and my barcode scanner (MS9535 Voyager). The manual says that when i want to connect to a bluetooth device, i have to read the address (MAC) and create a barcode of that address... so far so good.I've i plugin my bluetooth usb receiver, my kernel recognizes it. The next thing i do is (00:00:00:00:00:00 isn't my real address )
I am having trouble with connecting my Sony Ericsson phone with my Ubuntu 9.10 using USB. It doesn't matter how I choose to connect it - "File Transfer" and "Phone Mode" - both does not work. The phone IS charching, when it is connected, but it doesn't shows anywhere. When I type "lsusb" in terminal, it does not show me my phone. When I look in "/var/log/messages" there is NO error. It does not even show the procedure of connecting and disconnecting the phone. What could be the problem?
I'm using Ubuntu since some month and lovin it. Only one thing with Rhythmbox and my HTC mobile phone running Win mobile 6.1 is annoying: The mobile device is never recognised as a music player nor as a usb device so I can't load music via Rhythmbox. Ubuntu recognises it as umts-modem which I like and would like to maintain. But is there any way to load music on it at the same time? I've already tried different settings on the devices usb-to-pc settings menu, but this only switches on and off the modem functionality but doesn't make ubuntu recognise the device as usb or music player.
I've been trying to get my palm TX to sync with kubuntu 8.10. Quickly after I place the palm on the cradle I get a warning msg that I've attached below. I did follow some directions at one point where it required me to install visor. It had sync'd a few times, but then it started giving me these errors. Eventually I tried to delete the device, etc.
The msg: Failed to connect using device 'Cradle', on port 'usb:'. Check your confirguration, as you requested new-style libusb 'usb:' syncing, but have the old-style 'visor' kernel module loaded. You may need to select a 'ttyUSB...' device
I currently have 3 drives installed to be used as a file server. 1 holds the Ubuntu OS The other is the file server drive with 1 additional for backup using raid1.
2 Questions: 1) How do I get to the drive or Raid device to put files on the drive using command line (the 2 drives are sda & sdc that are connected to the raid1 device)?
2) How do I set the path in Samba to connect to this RAID drive.
I have a ZTE 3G USB modem (MF645). When I plug it, 5 devices appear: /dev/ttyUSB[0-4]. The modem device is /dev/ttyUSB2, and I can successfully connect wvdial on it. NetworkManager detects the modem, however, it tries to connect to /dev/ttyUSB1 instead, and fails.
How does NM decides which device to connect to? Is it possible to instruct it to connect to a specific device?
I am running 9.10 latest updates (as far as I know) My problem is with my usb connections.I cant connect different usb devices to the same usb ports if a device had been previously connected to it. IE: I have to keep my camera connected to one particular port. If I disconnect it and connect anything to it, it cant be seen. It doesnt matter if I reboot. Is there a way to clear out any memory that stores the usb port assignments?
i have created dialup internet connection in windows xp using my bluetooth enabled mobile and bluetooth device ,,and my question is that how to set up the same procedure in my fedora 11 system.
I have a nifty new headset (a JawBone iconthe noise cancellation is incredible) and I've successfully connected it to my Karmic laptop (64 bit, for the off chance it makes a difference). The trouble is, I only occasionally want to connect it to my laptop; I mostly use it with my mobile 'phone.
The two devices fight over my new toy a lot, and invariably the laptop wins, contrary to what I want. It seems a pain to have to rediscover the headset every time I want to use VIOP or whatever, so is there a way to add a device to Karmic's Bluetooth list, but not have it connect whenever it sees it?
I've been having a problem with Bluetooth on Debian 8 Jessie i just can't connect to any bluetooth device, i have only tested my smartphone and my bluetooth headphones, i am using blueman manager. After attempting to connect to my bluetooth headphones/smartphone it just disconnects and says "Connection Failed: No such file or directory",i don't know if i have to create a config file or something, the error message doesn't say anything but the error previously mentioned.
I have just installed the last FC distro, and everything works good, except the wireless network.I have a Linksys N-Ultra WirelessN USB wifi card, model WUSB600N.It uses the rt2x00 driver, concretely the rt2870 driver (at least, thats the driver included in the original device drivers CD).Right now, the problem is that i don't know how to make my Fedora 12 to enable and/or connect to internet.
dmesg | tail usb 1-3: Manufacturer: Cisco-Linksys LLC usb 1-3: configuration #1 chosen from 1 choice
First, excuse me for my bad english I want to connect a bluetooth device with the command rfcomm. In a terminal, I put the command :
Code: rfcomm connect 0 00:80:98:E4:07:53 And the system answers : Code: Connected /dev/rfcomm0 to 00:80:98:E4:07:53 on channel 1 Press CTRL-C for hangup
On fedora 10, or 11, I can use this command with all users. On fedora 12, only the root user can connect and use this device. Other users have the message :
Code: Can't open RFCOMM device: Permission denied What can I do to resolve this problem?
Currently my setup is a road runner cable modem connected to a desktop via a ethernet cable. The networkmanager lists "Broadcom BCM440-BO 100BaseTX" device not managed. I've turned off the power to both the cable modem and the computer. I then turned on the power to the cable modem and then the computer. If I try the firefox browser, it can not connect to the internet.
I have 2 HP DL585 servers with Emulex fibre channel cards that were originally running RHEL 5.3 and 5.2 with kernel 2.6.18-92.1.22.el5 connected to a san.I have now patched these to RHEL 5.5, kernel 2.6.194-8.1.el5.The san team have moved the cabling from a standard san switch to a fabric san switch and I have tried to configure multipath.Since the cable move, the servers display 2 lines of:shpchp:shpc_init: cannot reserve mmio region then the boot halts with sda5 device or resource busy.
Returning the cables to the original switch and removing the multipath config allows the servers to boot. What is the shpchp error and is this causing the problem? Why would changing the switch the cable plugs into cause the server to fail to boot with the device busy message? Also, it's not easy to arrange downtime on these servers, so I don't know when I'll next have a chance to reboot them.
I've got an XP pro SP3 Vm in Virtualbox with Vodafone Mobile Connect installed. The USB dongle is detected by virtual box and I've tried passing it through with and without a filter enabled for it. Both times it was listed with the USB keyboard and mouse, all were greyed out. In Windows Ddevice Manager there's a entry for a USB Mobile Internet controller but the Vodafone Mobile Connect software isn't picking up the device. I'm using Ubuntu 10.04 and teh latest Virtualbox downloaded from the website with the PUEL extensions pack so I can have USB.

I just upgraded to 15 and was wondering if it was possible to specify which devices to prioritize a route through. I have my machine, a laptop, connected to my family's router for an internet connection and a wired connection to a personal router for a faster and private connection between my other two computers and a network storage device. Whenever the laptop is connected to my personal router everything goes through it and it can't connect to any external web sites. But when I unplug it and go only on my family's wireless everything is fine, except I can't connect to the storage device since it has no external connections.
how can I mount my iPhone in Opensuse? after i connect my device to laptop via USB,opensuse doesn't mount it and recognize it at first as a digital camera.
I have a ThinkPad x100e with a wireless card.Code:03:00.0 Network controller: Realtek Semiconductor Co., Ltd. Device 8172 (rev 10)my problem is that I can't connect to my wireless network with Gentoo. I've been running Slackware64-13.1 on this computer and now have Windows 7, Ubuntu and Gentoo installed. Slackware, Ubuntu as well as Windows 7 connect to the wlan without problems. I'm using the driver rtl8192se, the module is loaded r8192se_pci and is the same with Slackware and Ubuntu.
I've read many posts and found that other people experience problems with Realtek wlandevices as well. But I have no Idea how to get connected with Gentoo at my wlan. It looks like that the netbook is connected for a very short time, but when dhcpcd broadcasts for a lease the connection is already closed.
