I'm running Ubuntu 10.04, and I the "Network Game" option in Nibbles is grayed-out. Ctrl-G doesn't work either. Is there a fix for this, or do I need to install something extra?

I upgraded to fedora 13 from fedora 11.
i used the preupgrade method.
i am running dual boot with win7 as 2nd OS
after downloading all packages, the preupgrade asked to reboot. after bootloader started, the screen haults and displays "FINDING STORAGE DEVICES" and doesnot go any further.
I hae tried both options of enabling and disabling sata option, but it didn't worked.
i have installed mouse trap by the Ubuntu "easy peasy" software center ,but for some reason it didn't work so i uninstalled it and start to install the mouse trap from herehttp://live.gnome.org/MouseTrap/Installationbut when did the "make" step it gave me that error:make: *** No targets specified and no makefile found. View 2 Replies View RelatedI have installed Fedora 15 on a Mac mini 2.4. Everything works fine except the audio and wireless devices.

In the gnome, the network option only shows the wired connection. I tried to do yum install kmod-wl which downgraded the graphic display and didnt help in wireless issue. I reinstalled nvidia driver. the lspci is after doing all this stuff.
This game is Java based. After rebooting the game works, but on ending the game several notification boxes remain. If these boxes are not closed in the reverse order that the game opened them, it is no longer possible to close them. Only by killing the Java processes can these notifications be made to close. Also after playing the game, even if all these notifications are closed it is many times necessary to kill the Java process(es) in order to get the game to load again at a later time. I am currently using Slackware 1.30, but a similar problem has existed in several of the past releases.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI'm trying to get a game to work, the mac/wine client for Fallen earth. After reading a few things i was able to download the fallen earth dmg file (named fm.dmg now) and converted it to a img file (fm.img) using dmg2img. Then i mounted it using these commands.

I thought i was done. But it seems i cant copy the main file FEUpdaterMac.exe becasue i dont have permisssions. Tried and got the following

Now I'm stuck is there anything anyone can think of everything else seemed to copy but this file.

View 2 Replies View RelatedMy Computer options arent great, but i am going to be starting the process of switching all the computers in my house to linux, i wanted to see if i could make a server to connect all of them for file sharing, but mostly for world of warcraft in the house.it would only be 10 computers accessing it at once. i would basically want to know what the best form of linux would be, the programs id need to have, if it could be done on a desktop based machine, or if id have to use my server. if i would need different hardware or if the linksys hardwired router going to be enough connection. i guess the filesharing would be more the pressing need, especially if it is possible to create a server and convert the connected computers to linux through use of the server

I have Centos5.3 64 bit installed. My board in GIGABYTE GA-G31M-S2L Mother Board. Linux doesnot detect my lan card and the light goes off while I boot into linux but it works well on XP.

I recently took my Compaq Presario 2175US notebook completely apart and resoldered the power jack so that it could be used again (after 2 years of dormancy). After successfully putting it back together (with a handful of leftover screws ) , I was able to successfully install Ubuntu 10.04 (Windows XP seemed silly at this point and I really like using Open Office). Anyway, after a couple of days looking for the wireless driver for the internal wireless, I found the answer and got that working.
Unfortunately, the video does not seem to be working other than a basic VESA configuration. The notebook has the ATI Radeon IGP 320M video chip installed. I have searched for many days (about a week) on the internet for a way to get this working, but have been unsuccessful. Although I have found many posts all over the net (here included) that list folks with similar problems, and having tried many of the "fixes", I am still unsuccessful at getting the video card to work in any more than a minimal manner (no games, no 3D of any kind...etc.)
Newly installed Debian system from years with Fedora. Ran system update and system got hosed, booted but no Gnome. Got Gnome back after MANY 'aptitude upgrade's. Xemacs disappeared! Along with other things I installed. Tried to install Xemacs but it is broken and will not install, complains about dpkg TOO current(?). So downloaded Xemacs for Xemacs.org and compiled source, installed.
Now when I start Xemacs is does not run in an X window but runs emacs in a terminal window. If I run it from a script, it complains about 'not in tty window'.

In short: browsing the internet with domain names does not work. The long version: I've configured my network with DHCP and ifup. Ping works on my internal net and with servers in the internet. Dig work's too! I get the right IP to the requested domain. When i try to access the internet using firefox or even wget i get an DNS error. For example wget is showing the following error: Resolving heise.de... failed: Name or service not known. wget: unable to resolve host address 'heise.de'
Again dig show me the right IP and if i add the entry to /etc/hosts it work's too! I've even tried it with manually setup of ip address, nameserver and default gateway but with the same result. Switching off the firewall has no effect on this problem, too.
I deleted the firewall files "K09SuSEfirewall2_init", "K01SuSEfirewall2_setup", "S11SuSEfirewall2_setup" and "S01SuSEfirewall2_init" from "/etc/rc.d/rc5.d" in order to disable the firewall when rebooting.
As a consequence all network services are not working. I can't connect to any other machine nor to the internet.
I rebuilt the symbolic files based on the ones for runlevel 3, but still no network services are available.
Any suggestions how to make it work again? I'm using Suse 11.3.
I install from openSUSE-11.3-NET-x86_64.iso. Installation was succesfull, but after install all packet on test internet / update was error. And after log in in installed system internet not work. I use router with DHCP
View 8 Replies View RelatedCurrently my office use a Cisco Firewall which will only allow the ANYCONNECT utility to do the vpn connection. I found a Linux utility (OpenConnect) which will do the same thing, but allow me more flexibility with my networking needs.What I ultimately would like to have is to have a switch that I can connect any network device into it and be connected to the office. IE (my IP Work Phone and Computer) Currently I have is a computer with fedora 13 and two network cards eth0 (home network - connected to a router) and eth1 which I would like to connect a switch to. OpenConnect communicates fine and I can see the work network from the Fedora machine. It creates a vpn0 tun/tap device and I don't know how to pass communication to/from the eth1 device.
Do I try to iptables the ports for the phone and services I need on the computer? Or do I build bridge; and If I do what am I bridging. I have tried making a bridge from eth1 to vpn0 which reply's with unsupported device or something like that.Unfortunately my network skills are bit limited and my office says "it can't be done". Their solution is for me to buy a ASA5505 (or something device) and have a static IP. I would have to make it work as my router and even then it will only DHCP 10 ip addresses; which will cause a shortage of IP addresses in the house.
I have an OpenSuSE 11.1 in vmWare ESX and every other boot I can't access any running network services (ssh, webmin, qmail, mysql, ...) from outside. I just need to login, reboot and voila - network services are working.I gradually updated to 11.2 and 11.3 by following the wiki with success but this problem remained. So I reverted to snapshot of 11.1 and now I would like to identify and solve the problem here first.I also looked at /var/log/messages /var/log/boot.msg /var/log/lastlog but can't find anything usefull. I will now compare those files from the working and non-working boot but meanwhile someone already has an idea or experience what could be wrong?

After installing OpenSUSE 11.3 (64-bit), I do not have network connectivity (Ethernet or Wireless)? Neither adapter can be detected? I thought the install would be fairly straightforward as Kubuntu 64-bit detected all the hardware.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI'm planning to use Debian as the OS for a firewall machine, which will sit between my internet connection and the rest of my computers. Now my network is all wired, no wireless whatsoever. I'm using the onboard the motherboards cat5 socket which seems to be using the VIA rhine driver and I'm also using a 3com 100MBps card.
I can list the machine spec if you want but it's nothing special, an old Athlon 64 rig with 1gb ram and an OEM motherboard, it all seems to work ok apart from the internet doesn't' seem to work. Lenny seems to detect both cards ok and I even used the net install CD and it managed to download everything using the 3com card.
The strange thing is when I'm in Lenny, I can't seem to connect. I can ping google, but when I try and view a webpage, the browser just sits there with a while screen... Could it be that using 2 network cards is confusing Debian? Right now I've only got the modem hooked up the the 3com card, and nothing connected to the onboard network card.
Can anybody tell me if there is a game similar to WOW for ubuntu 9.10? if there is I would like the source code so i can download it from the terminal.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI recently put Ubuntu 10.04 on my laptop, and now I have my account set to "Administrator" but it won't let me install a game from a DVD rom, I installed the original game and it's first expansion with no problems, but the account says I don't have permissions to install the second expansion. I am sure it's because it's a DVD rom, but how can I give myself "root" permissions, or set up a root password so I can permit myself to install things?
