I get this error with a Java applet : "poppinlockin" - Invalid username/password combination. If you continue to get this error, try entering your email address as your username.
I have tried dozens of times to change the password/username and still the same! I try to log in manually and it won't log in. If i am on a different machine it is no problem so there much be somewhere the info is stored and i can delete it and redo it?

This suddenly started happening. However if I was to log in with an AOL account I can still log in. What can I do to solve this? I am assuming that somehow the system locked or disable my yahoo account from logging in.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have just found, that my pidgin on a old debian Lenny machine does not support Yahoo as a protocol anymore. When checking out the list of accounts, the one with yahoo is now listed as (unknown). And when I wipe pidgin clean off the system, remove all configuration and reinstall is, now there is no way to register a yahoo account, it is just not listed in all the protocols. What is going on???

Trying to set up my Yahoo account on KMail. After entering all the correct (as far as I know) server settings, ports, etc. and trying to check my mail from KMail, I get the following message.
Could not login to pop.mail.yahoo.com. The password may be wrong.
The server said: "[SYS/PERM] pop not allowed for user."
The password is definitely right. What is going on?

Also when highlighting text on a page and right clicking with the mouse no search option is given. I created a new user and all works as it should for the new user. What is wrong with my user account? I have reset default values in Konqueror setup.

View 3 Replies View Relatedi recently lost access to yahoo IM on 2 different computers (one 32-bit and one 64-bit) on both empathy and pidgin. it happened at around the same time on 2 separate machines on 2 separate networks. both gmail and msn will connect using both clients - it's only yahoo that will not connect and i've tried 2 different yahoo accounts, too...
i can still log into yahoo IM on a windows virtual machine and through the web messenger - just not using the ubuntu clients.
could there have been a recent update that may have caused this? i've also heard that yahoo in the past has changed around servers and put in measures to limit usages strictly to yahoo clients.

View 1 Replies View RelatedSo, I am relatively new to Ubuntu (a few weeks in). I am running Lucid dual booted with Windows Vista at this point. I have installed the Mobloquer GUI for better privacy. That seems to be going pretty well, except that it is making it difficult for me to connect to the yahoo chat server. I am running Pidgin. The other servers I use (AIM, Google) use one IP address each for their chat connections and I have whitelisted those addresses. However, it seems that Yahoo uses a different IP address every time. Whitelisting whatever IP it tried last doesn't work. I tried to put in a range - with that, Mobloquer would not start up at all - something about an invalid IP mask.
I realize that this is the Ubuntu forum, not specific to Moblock (or Mobloquer) but when I google problems with Mobloquer the results are almost all here. So, I hope that those with knowledge will chime in anyhow.

I don't mind using Pidgin for my hotmail account but I usually use both messengers at the same time so I need a way to use both. I'm wanting to know if anyone can help me with this issue. I sort of need a program that supports webcam so I can communicate with my family when I leave town in a few weeks. I've used Gyachi in the past, and it was great and all, but it's gone now. It's been missing from it's repository for a long time. (If that doesn't make any sense, what I'm trying to say is that it won't download from it's source, in the way that you usually install it.)
I've also heard about Yux, but out of curiosity, is there anything better? Empathy is missing some basic features, like webcam (understandable) to "message all in group"
As of today I am unable to connect to Yahoo messenger in either Empathy or Pidgin. Empathy gives its generic "network error" and Pidgin says the account is disabled, and fails to connect when I click "re-enable." I've checked the obvious things such as username and password. I was able to connect through the web messenger so my credentials are good. Also tried swapping the server with the IP address and changing the character encoding as recommended here.
View 2 Replies View Relatedonly getting with Yahoo mail, gmail is fine, also I get the same problem with chrome and with firefoxI can log in to yahoo both classic and "all new mail", but sometimes emails just doesn't load up at all (I get a blue loading bar but nothing happens), sometimes the mail will load, but I can't get attachments or send email at all. When I try to get an attachment it scans for viruses and just hangs, if I try to compose a message I also get a timer but that hangs too.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have 5 computers, 3 of them have windows XP Pro, 1 has Ubuntu 10.04, and the other has Windows 7 Ult.On all the machines except the windows 7 machine whenever I attempt to go to yahoo.com it says "waiting for l.yimg.com" and after awhile will load without any CSS at all. When the same machines (all except for the Windows 7 one) attempt to go to Hulu.com it can connect to the website just fine, but whenever it attempt to play a video, the ad will not play, and hulu is designed to not play the video if the ad does not play. I do not have any ad blocking addons installed at all. This occurs on both chrome and firefox. And lastly the oddest problem out of them all I think is that on the same machines I can play ..... videos fine, but if i log into an account, it will not play the video.... it just shows a "spinning wheel of death."
I can also ping www.yimg.com with no package loss.On all of the machines I have reinstalled the browser and updated to the newest flash player. On one of the windows XP machines I even tried a system restore too 2 months ago, but that did not work.This all started 2 days ago, all at the same time. I would say that it is my ISP's fault or my routers, but that wouldn't make sense since my Windows 7 machine can connect fine to all the websites.
