Im pretty sure this is trivial to config, but I havent had any luck searching on google.My situation is: I want to forward any emails sent to my domain to another account. So:

I have an email setup where all of the emails from our email host is downloaded to our Linux server using Fetchmail. Then some of the incoming emails are sent to an MS exchange server (server1.domain.com) using Postfix. What i want to do is to send a copy of all emails to Another server (server2.domain.com) for redundancy.Can postfix be configured to send copies out to both?

View 5 Replies View RelatedI just set up a new email server on Debian Lenny. It's Postfix for MTA and Dovecot for IMAPS server. I use Dovecot for authentication. I have two UNIX users on the system (except root), one was added before the installation of Postfix and Dovecot. I'm not doing any virtual things, just plain UNIX users and one domain on a dynamic IP. The first user, "webadmin" can send and receive emails just fine through the server from my mail client.
Now I just added a new user, "scarleo", and it turns out I'm unable to send and receive emails with this account. If I log in (SSH) with scarleo I can use bash mail to send emails, works fine. scarleo can also receive emails from webadmin and can connect to Dovecot to read emails. However scarleo cannot send or receive to or from anyone outside the server from my mail client. I have restarted both Postfix and Dovecot after adding the user. Do I have to do something else to make this account work like webadmin's?

Also this whole "whois" thing scares me, if I am correct my information I enter when buying the domain is enter into some big pool of information. easier way to forward email, in postfix, from a user to one domain for the user without listing every domain and user name? Example:send all of user joe's email to joe@somewhere, in which there are mulitple domains other than "somewhere".

Does anyone know a way (the simple the better) to receive all the email that can be found in /var/spool/mail/user to a yahoo or gmail account?
i mean, instead of login to the server and read the messages from /var/spool/root, it will be a lot easyear and faster to found about them, if they will be sent to my email account
i know i can make the cron output be sent by email, if i place in front of the cron line something like :
MAILTO="email@something.com"
but in /var/spool/mail/ for root or other usernames you can found many other messages.
I'm running Ubuntu 10.10 Netbook edition on my Asus EEEPC and cannot add a new email account to Evolution. I'm using Evolution 2.30.3, and whenever I open "preferences" the window extends below the bottom of my screen. I'm unable to resize or move the window in order to select any of the options below the bottom.I'm sure there is a simple technique to fix this, but it is beyond this newb.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI use evolution 2.26.1 on my jaunty machine. I have a couple of gmail accounts, and use pop3 to have that mail sent to evolution on my computer. All was fine until a few days ago. Then I noticed that I was no longer getting mail from my freecycle account sent to my machine. I went to the gmail web interface and saw that freecycle mail is still being sent to me. But gmail isn't passing it along to my evolution. The odd thing is, other mail from that gmail account *is* reaching evolution okay.

What can I do to recover all that?My .evolution/mail folder still has all the data for example (got there some hundreds MB still). and I also have there other folders: addressbook, calendar..etc

I just discovered that it's still sitting there unopened but for some reason Evolution doesn't retrieve it.I know it's still there because I can ssh in and run pine -- and there it is, still marked "N" in the INBOX.Evolution has been retrieving all my other emails with no apparent problems. Is there any way that I can "force" it to get this item, and do you have any idea as to why one particular email is being excluded when Evolution does Send/Receive?

1. when a mail is sent to an account; if it has a forwarder set; it should forward a copy of email to the mentioned email address.
2. all the emails sent to a domain alias should be automatically forwarded to the respective email account in the main domain.
eg for 1. xyz@abc.com => hfg@gmail.com
eg for 2. xyz@alias.com => xyz@maindomain.com
We have a database that stores the mailboxes as we have our own control panel. I can get only one working at a time. I have the mysql query in the .cf file and mentioned it in the main.cf as 'virtual_alias_maps' but i need both to work not just one at a time.
I would like to change an email account from POP3 to IMAP on an ISPConfig 2 system, I can see that the IMAP and POP3 process are both running.
I have the Maildir check box ticked for the server
Is there anything else I need to do, or is it just a case of changing the mail client from expecting POP3 to expecting IMAP?
