is there a way to call Compiz' Scale plugin after the Expo plugin has be started? Basically I want it to work like on Mac OS X, where it's no problem to compine Spaces (Expo) with with Expos�'s "Show all windows" function (screenshot: [URL]).
Somehow the hot corners and the keyboard shortcuts are locked during the Expo view. Is it possible to unlock them? Or is there another Compiz plugin I can use?
I have installed Ubuntu Netbook 10.10 but didn't like the interface so on log in I just start in desktop mode. I am using the CompizConfig Setting Manager and want to activate Expo and other desktop extras. I have changed the System > Preferences > Appearance > Visual Effects to extra but I still do not see Expo in ccsm. Do I need to install each plug in separately? I have included a screen shot of ccsm too.

View 9 Replies View RelatedI have just upgraded from 10.04 -> 10.10 and my 'scale' plugin is not working properly in compiz (the rest works well).I do have the effect working with "super+a, super+w" , but "edge" does not work.I can modify values via gconf, I have: "initiate_all_edge" set to "BottomLeft" but this doesnt respond.The weirdest thing is that the compiz scale options part instead of giving me 4 tabs of options -> gives this.(image below) i tried reinstalling a few times & purge compiz + install back, but result remained the same.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI have a dual monitor setup and I've used Scale for a few days now, but I'm still confused about the expected ordering of the windows within the same workspace. For example, the last focused window isn't necessarily placed at a fixed spot, e.g., top left corner. It seems that if a window on my left monitor is last focused and I invoke it on my right screen, then it'd appear on the top left corner. However, if a window on my right monitor is last focused, it gets past just the last focused window on my left monitor. The last focused window on my left monitor eventually shifts to the bottom right corner.

I usually have many windows open, quite often with many of those windows being from the same program (i.e., OpenOffice Documents). I am wondering if the Scale plugin has some way of either overlaying titles when the mouse hovers over the preview, or if titles can be placed directly underneath the previews as they would be in OSX's Expose.
View 5 Replies View RelatedAs im sure most of you know, in gnome-shell when one activates the "activities" corner, much like in Kwin, you can view all of your workspaces, and the windows in each workspace are scaled so they are all visible. One can also drag and drop windows across workspaces, and when they do, the window "snaps" over to the other workspace.
Does anyone know of a way to make windows in compiz's expo plugin do such a thing?
I am using VirtualBox with Win-XP installed which works perfectly But after doing updates in my F13 today the scale wont work in the VirtualBox in full-screen mode Initially scale works when I place the mouse in the top-left corner but it's not working now and nothing happens Ive googled and tried settings in CCSM but I really have no idea why scale doest work in VirtualBox full-screen now this is really extremely inconvenient as i cant switch back to my F13 unless I switch to windows mode in my VirtualBox.

I had the expo, ring switcher, and the shift switcher configured to run when I put my cursor in each corner that I had set up to start the switcher. One day, I was doing schoolwork when the windows that I had spread out over the different workspaces all consolidated to Workspace 1 and none of my switchers worked. I tried rebooting the computer, reverting all changes I had made in Compiz, everything I knew how to do.

Was wondering if its possible to scale ubuntu theme/environment to suite 1920x1080. Im using my comp on a 42" plasma TV, and it gets kinda small with the default scale.
Don't want to change to a lower res, simple because it's not as pretty and the toolbars are almost hidden.
Running Ubuntu 10.10..When you activate expose you see all your virtual desktops, but in each one the windows are overlaid. I want it to scale (ie show all windows on a grid) in each virtual desktop in the expose view. Does anyone know how to activate the scale plugin while in expose?

In my BIOS, I can manually increase the FSB, but if SpeedStep (EIST) is enabled, the increased FSB is ignored by Linux, and the max speed remains 2.67 GHz. If I disable SpeedStep, then the CPU successfully runs at the higher speed I would expect, but does not scale down when under low load. As it is now, I am only running it at 2.8 GHz.Does CPUFreq *require* SpeedStep to be enabled in the BIOS?

Is there a way that I can specify the height and with of the stream on the command line? From what I read, it looks like a #transcoder option would work, but I cant seem to figure it out. The above command is working, and I can view the stream, but it's extremely slow, and continuously freezes and buffers. My thinking is that if I can reduce the scale of the video.
I have had trouble with my wine window. It was scaled too small and i cant reach the controls to scale it back. If i just grab the sides, it just glitches up.btw it works on different desktops, but i just want to use my own desktop because it gets a bit annoying when i have to switch user to another desktop just to use wine)

My solution was to make a 50x50 image, zoom in, draw it with the 1x1 pixel pencil tool, and then scale it to whatever size i want.Everything went well except, when i try to scale it the anti-aliasing kicks in and blurs everything. Is there a way that i can disable anti-aliasing?

My Canon is a 12 mega pixel camera so the photos get very large. After I shoot a weekend of 200+ pictures, the last thing I want to do is resize them so I can share them on Facebook. It just shows the movie in the center of the screen with black frame around it.I do not know how tightly it may be related, but xine-check says my X server does not support YV12 overlays (twice, BTW, so there must be a bug in its message file) and has no XVideo support.Is it normal in current for now?
