I have had trouble with my wine window. It was scaled too small and i cant reach the controls to scale it back. If i just grab the sides, it just glitches up.btw it works on different desktops, but i just want to use my own desktop because it gets a bit annoying when i have to switch user to another desktop just to use wine)

Now I've just tried to open a new spreadsheet and I'm suddenly getting a highly condensed view. The cells are about 1mm X 4mm. If I expand them by selecting and dragging, then try to copy data from another spreadsheet onto the new one, the data shrinks to the small scale -- unreadable.

View 2 Replies View RelatedSeems that i have totally ****ed up my sony vaio (vgn-fz21z). I've been doing some partitioning and formatting without really knowing what i was doing. Now it is a mess.The vaio comes with pre-installed windows vista, which is no longer installed. I want it to be.Ubuntu 10.4 is installed. In grub I can choose vista but that is only vaio recovery tool. Which is not working. When I try the format cption and take it all back to the original settings, it says that c: is too small or missing.
I also have some cd:s with windows 7 and xp on, but they can't be read. Now the vaio is not even accepting my ubuntu live-cd. I have nothing of importance on the computer, so there would be no problem re-formatting the whole thing. Can it be done? I would prefer is the vaio recovery tool could be left untouched, it has its own partition. I guess I'm asking: is there a way from inside ubuntu to make a total system re-installation, get rid of different partitions and reconstruct c:, so win can be installed again?
When I choose "scaled" for my background I see it the way I wanted except for the fact that the top and bottom bars of Ubuntu cover part of the background. Is there a way I can make the background "scaled" and aware of these two bars so they don't hide part of it?

I have just upgraded from 10.04 -> 10.10 and my 'scale' plugin is not working properly in compiz (the rest works well).I do have the effect working with "super+a, super+w" , but "edge" does not work.I can modify values via gconf, I have: "initiate_all_edge" set to "BottomLeft" but this doesnt respond.The weirdest thing is that the compiz scale options part instead of giving me 4 tabs of options -> gives this.(image below) i tried reinstalling a few times & purge compiz + install back, but result remained the same.

For example, the last focused window isn't necessarily placed at a fixed spot, e.g., top left corner. It seems that if a window on my left monitor is last focused and I invoke it on my right screen, then it'd appear on the top left corner. However, if a window on my right monitor is last focused, it gets past just the last focused window on my left monitor. The last focused window on my left monitor eventually shifts to the bottom right corner.

In my BIOS, I can manually increase the FSB, but if SpeedStep (EIST) is enabled, the increased FSB is ignored by Linux, and the max speed remains 2.67 GHz. If I disable SpeedStep, then the CPU successfully runs at the higher speed I would expect, but does not scale down when under low load. As it is now, I am only running it at 2.8 GHz.Does CPUFreq *require* SpeedStep to be enabled in the BIOS?

Is there a way that I can specify the height and with of the stream on the command line? From what I read, it looks like a #transcoder option would work, but I cant seem to figure it out. The above command is working, and I can view the stream, but it's extremely slow, and continuously freezes and buffers. My thinking is that if I can reduce the scale of the video.
I want to make an 8-bit looking image that has very large pixels. My solution was to make a 50x50 image, zoom in, draw it with the 1x1 pixel pencil tool, and then scale it to whatever size i want.Everything went well except, when i try to scale it the anti-aliasing kicks in and blurs everything. My Canon is a 12 mega pixel camera so the photos get very large. After I shoot a weekend of 200+ pictures, the last thing I want to do is resize them so I can share them on Facebook. It just shows the movie in the center of the screen with black frame around it.I do not know how tightly it may be related, but xine-check says my X server does not support YV12 overlays (twice, BTW, so there must be a bug in its message file) and has no XVideo support.Is it normal in current for now? View 4 Replies View RelatedI recently setup my X to work well with the newer version of the ATI driver for my Radeon 3650, however no matter what I do, I can't get mplayer to scale to fullscreen. Something that xine has no trouble with. I have tried the x11, sdl, xover, gl, and gl2 outputs which all make no difference. Am I missing an output, or is something not working as it should? In particular, why is xine fine, while mplayer stumbles? As an unrelated question, it is possible to set mplayer to skip to a next file in a directory? From what I could tell, it does not seem to have this functionality built in.

When I changed device to "Intel HDA ..." it shows all the sliders (Master, PCM and other). I saw changes in the default master volume causes changes in both, Master and PCM scales. Is there anyone know how to make gnome sound volume hotkeys leave the PCM slider alone? I need it for my personal tasks.
