Running Ubuntu 10.10..When you activate expose you see all your virtual desktops, but in each one the windows are overlaid. I want it to scale (ie show all windows on a grid) in each virtual desktop in the expose view. Does anyone know how to activate the scale plugin while in expose?

I not care about security issues. My network all computer have Ubuntu 10.04 and their ip range is 192.168.1.2 to 192.168.1.6. Note :- My machine have glass-fish server that what i want to access(using 8080 port) remotely.

I have read that clicking the Ubuntu logo top left of the screen should open an 'expose' style switcher of all running applications. However when I click the logo it simply opens a menu screen with large icons labeled Web, Music, Photos & Videos, Games, Email & Chat, Office, Files & Folders and Get more Apps. See attached.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm not sure if this is a feature of Gnome, compviz, or some other part of Fedora, but whenever I place my mouse in the upper right corner of the desktop, all of my open windows zoom out to a Mac-like Expose feature which allows me to select which window I'd like to change focus to. Does anyone know how to disable this feature? I actually find it highly annoying, as I tend to place the mouse in that region either on accident or unintentionally, especially when accessing my machine remotely via VNC. I've had a lot of trouble googling for combinations of "Gnome expose" and "Gnome desktop expose", I have a feeling I am calling this feature by the wrong name. how to do this myself - install the Compiz Configuration Settings Manager (the package name is "ccsm") and disable the "Scale" plugin.
How do you turn on the "Expose" feature (lets you view all the opened windows at once) in Fedora 14? What is the name of this program or is this part of Gnome? Do you need 3D hardware for this to work?

I have just upgraded from 10.04 -> 10.10 and my 'scale' plugin is not working properly in compiz (the rest works well).I do have the effect working with "super+a, super+w" , but "edge" does not work.I can modify values via gconf, I have: "initiate_all_edge" set to "BottomLeft" but this doesnt respond.The weirdest thing is that the compiz scale options part instead of giving me 4 tabs of options -> gives this.(image below) i tried reinstalling a few times & purge compiz + install back, but result remained the same.

For example, the last focused window isn't necessarily placed at a fixed spot, e.g., top left corner. It seems that if a window on my left monitor is last focused and I invoke it on my right screen, then it'd appear on the top left corner. However, if a window on my right monitor is last focused, it gets past just the last focused window on my left monitor. The last focused window on my left monitor eventually shifts to the bottom right corner.

In my BIOS, I can manually increase the FSB, but if SpeedStep (EIST) is enabled, the increased FSB is ignored by Linux, and the max speed remains 2.67 GHz. If I disable SpeedStep, then the CPU successfully runs at the higher speed I would expect, but does not scale down when under low load. As it is now, I am only running it at 2.8 GHz.Does CPUFreq *require* SpeedStep to be enabled in the BIOS?

Is there a way that I can specify the height and with of the stream on the command line? From what I read, it looks like a #transcoder option would work, but I cant seem to figure it out. The above command is working, and I can view the stream, but it's extremely slow, and continuously freezes and buffers. My thinking is that if I can reduce the scale of the video.
I have had trouble with my wine window. It was scaled too small and i cant reach the controls to scale it back. If i just grab the sides, it just glitches up.btw it works on different desktops, but i just want to use my own desktop because it gets a bit annoying when i have to switch user to another desktop just to use wine)

My solution was to make a 50x50 image, zoom in, draw it with the 1x1 pixel pencil tool, and then scale it to whatever size i want.Everything went well except, when i try to scale it the anti-aliasing kicks in and blurs everything. Is there a way that i can disable anti-aliasing?

I usually have many windows open, quite often with many of those windows being from the same program (i.e., OpenOffice Documents). I am wondering if the Scale plugin has some way of either overlaying titles when the mouse hovers over the preview, or if titles can be placed directly underneath the previews as they would be in OSX's Expose.

My Canon is a 12 mega pixel camera so the photos get very large. After I shoot a weekend of 200+ pictures, the last thing I want to do is resize them so I can share them on Facebook. It just shows the movie in the center of the screen with black frame around it.I do not know how tightly it may be related, but xine-check says my X server does not support YV12 overlays (twice, BTW, so there must be a bug in its message file) and has no XVideo support.Is it normal in current for now? View 4 Replies View RelatedI recently setup my X to work well with the newer version of the ATI driver for my Radeon 3650, however no matter what I do, I can't get mplayer to scale to fullscreen. Something that xine has no trouble with. I have tried the x11, sdl, xover, gl, and gl2 outputs which all make no difference. Am I missing an output, or is something not working as it should? In particular, why is xine fine, while mplayer stumbles? As an unrelated question, it is possible to set mplayer to skip to a next file in a directory? From what I could tell, it does not seem to have this functionality built in.

When I changed device to "Intel HDA ..." it shows all the sliders (Master, PCM and other). I saw changes in the default master volume causes changes in both, Master and PCM scales. Is there anyone know how to make gnome sound volume hotkeys leave the PCM slider alone? I need it for my personal tasks.
