When moving the mouse to the right side of the screen quickly, all the windows are small.Previously I was the first thing I was stopped by removing the mark from the Scale, but now stopped while still influence the rest.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI am using VirtualBox with Win-XP installed which works perfectly But after doing updates in my F13 today the scale wont work in the VirtualBox in full-screen mode Initially scale works when I place the mouse in the top-left corner but it's not working now and nothing happens Ive googled and tried settings in CCSM but I really have no idea why scale doest work in VirtualBox full-screen now this is really extremely inconvenient as i cant switch back to my F13 unless I switch to windows mode in my VirtualBox.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have just upgraded from 10.04 -> 10.10 and my 'scale' plugin is not working properly in compiz (the rest works well).I do have the effect working with "super+a, super+w" , but "edge" does not work.I can modify values via gconf, I have: "initiate_all_edge" set to "BottomLeft" but this doesnt respond.The weirdest thing is that the compiz scale options part instead of giving me 4 tabs of options -> gives this.(image below) i tried reinstalling a few times & purge compiz + install back, but result remained the same.

For example, the last focused window isn't necessarily placed at a fixed spot, e.g., top left corner. It seems that if a window on my left monitor is last focused and I invoke it on my right screen, then it'd appear on the top left corner. However, if a window on my right monitor is last focused, it gets past just the last focused window on my left monitor. The last focused window on my left monitor eventually shifts to the bottom right corner.

I usually have many windows open, quite often with many of those windows being from the same program (i.e., OpenOffice Documents). I am wondering if the Scale plugin has some way of either overlaying titles when the mouse hovers over the preview, or if titles can be placed directly underneath the previews as they would be in OSX's Expose.

When any entries are listed under the "Animation Selection" for Minimize, Focus, or Shade; the animations do not play; and I receive a libnotify error: "Animation settings mismatch in 'Animation Selection' list for __<Minimize or Focus or Shade>___ event."This happens even with the Animation Selection values reset and even the entire Animation configuration reset. I use the Gconf backend, but this also occurs with a file-based configuration. This has never worked for me.

when I boot my pc with fedora 10, it displays the white cube, although i can rotate it but it does not seem to work i cant see any desktops. How can I switch back to the normal desktop view or disable compiz fusion ?
View 3 Replies View RelatedAfter upgrading from 10.04 to 10.10, I've noticed (as have others) that the Compiz plugin for multiple wallpapers on different desktops is broken. If I wish to move to a new screen with the Expo feature, the graphics behave oddly (i.e. things become blurry or windows look terrible). I found a work-around on Launchpad, but this is only a temporary fix to a long-term solution. Has anyone else here had this problem or figured out a way to solve it?

View 4 Replies View RelatedI've just finished installing slack on my new computer, and after about 20 minutes of hair-pulling agony, I've gotten compiz working properly except for one plugin; the 3D windows plugin (windows hover over cube on rotate). I think it might be a corrupted ccsm- whenever I check the box next to the plugin, then try to rotate the cube, it is unchecked. Anyway, I know my graphics card (Geforce 6200 256Mb pci-e) is powerful enough to handle it since the driver installed properly and the effect worked on the knoppix live disk I used for partitioning. I'm running xfce and using emerald as the window decorator if it helps at all. It does the same thing with both animation packs.
View 4 Replies View Relatedis there a way to call Compiz' Scale plugin after the Expo plugin has be started? Basically I want it to work like on Mac OS X, where it's no problem to compine Spaces (Expo) with with Expos�'s "Show all windows" function (screenshot: [URL]).
Somehow the hot corners and the keyboard shortcuts are locked during the Expo view. Is it possible to unlock them? Or is there another Compiz plugin I can use?

I'm attempting to replace gnome-panel with cairo (also called glx dock), but I'm noticing some strange interaction between cairo and compiz. I have the Window Previews compiz plugin enabled, but the cairo dock only previews the window when the window is already visible on the desktop. If the window is minimized, the plugin doesn't seem to work. Have I missed a crucial configuration option somewhere? I'll attach some screenshots to try to clarify the problem. Notice the placement of the mouse over the left-most icon on my dock in both screenshots.
I did a clean install and mounted my user folders/partitions back after removing everything else from the Home drive to ensure no incompatible leftovers from Maverick.Now, I am dissapointed to see that I can't get blur on my transparent windows. This worked like a charm in Maverick and it looked brilliant but now it's often hard to tell windows apart if there are windows below the active one. So I had to turn down transparency... I have D-bus enabled, proprietary drivers installed and I have been Google-searching like crazy to find a solution. None.. Do any of you know the status of this plugin in Natty? Should it work, does it? Or not?I have Focus blur activated and working, it helps but not enough. My videocard is Radeon HD 4650 (AGP).
View 5 Replies View RelatedI am trying to stop acrobat automatically opening and embedding a pdf reader in firefox whenever I download a pdf. I can't for the life of me find a way to turn it off (short of editing a file called pluginreg.dat which clearly states "Do not edit").
I have tried the following:
about:config in firefox gives me no option to disable plugins of any kind (odd, as others report that that is where one does this kind of thing using plugin.disable_full_page_plugin_for_types or some such, but nothing like that is there for me)
edit->preferences->applications is no help. it says "portable document format" should lead to an "always ask" question. clearly, this is being overridden
finally, disabling acrobat settings like "allow fast web view" does nothing.
So I was playing with my compiz with a Intel Graphic card and I enable a effect that caused my graphics to die render my install useless after login, Can I disable compiz before I log in? after I log in all I can do its use ctrl+alt+f2.

I am running Ubuntu 10.04 with Compiz enabled (Visual Effects = Normal, in the System-Preferences-Appearance)
The gnome-terminals are transparent. I would like to disable the transparency, because I have a lot of terminals open at the same time and I don't want to be able to see one below another one.
In the gnome-terminal preferences, Background is set to "solid colour". However, Compiz seems to be over-riding this somehow.
I have the CompizConfig Settings Manager installed. I have looked through it but I can't find an option which disables the transparency for terminals. I tried the Opacity, Brightness and Saturation plugin, but it only allows you to vary the transparency level, not disable it entirely, and there doesn't seem to be a way of setting a default.
I like Compiz very much, so I don't want to disable the desktop effects. Does anyone know how to just disable the gnome-terminal transparency?
I'm not using lubuntu. Somehow I selected that and I can't get rid of it now. I'm on Ubuntu with Gnome.
I used ubuntu and recently install Mandriva in to my laptop.I install both Kde and gnome desktop.I like to have kwin effects in kde . But i cant enable Kwin animation in kde and Compiz fusion animation occur in both Kde and gnome.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI updated system few days back. and Ka-boom! Suddenly my all desktop effects gone. My theme effects of Mac from the theme Macubuntu 10.10 were gone too. I removed Macubuntu and tried to go into visual effects tab in Appearance Preferences, but it says "Mutter is running, Can't switch to other effects." Now, may this mutter is coming in natty narwhal & new, but seriously it's 2D effects aren't smooth enough.. Also I just can't use Alt+Tab which I'm habitual of.
My question is: How to disable this mutter and re-enable my Compiz-Fusion? I tried to kill mutter process from the daemons and start a compiz.. It didn't work.. Instead, I had to reboot my machine everytime I did that. When I remove mutter from sudo apt-get remove mutter.My desktop stays blank after a reboot and I can't access anything.. Thanks to EasyStroke that I'd given stokes to open a new terminal.
I',m having trouble running the zotero openoffice integration plugin in F13 under the openjdk plugin.It's known top be not working as per The problem lies in some permissions as reported here -fedora-linux/However i want to know if there's any progress on it, since i dont have privilege to install it in my lab computer. View 1 Replies View RelatedHow do I temporally disable compiz when in unity-3d so that I can play a game at the correct speed (with compiz enabled I get about 20% of the speed I get with compiz disabled) I have tried a script with

But this makes an unusable desktop.
I know I can use unity-2d but that seems to be worse in terms of usability.. I also know I can use gnome2 but whats the point when that will be missing in the next release . Is there anyway of doing this in unity-3d? Are there any plans (possibly from compiz) to ever do this automatically ?
One thing that worries me is that a new user will try a opengl game and think that Linux is far slower than Windows at games (which if you have a nvidia card with the binary driver is not true)
I'm trying to install the Freewins Compiz plugin (because I often use my computer while I'm horizontal on the couch; and I realize that's lazy), and I'm trying to use the instructions from the page,I've googled this and found one guy that has the same problem but no solution, and other pages that talk about Freewins have the exact same instructions for installing.Does anybody have any idea how to get this working correctly?

I also notice there is configurable buttons 1 throught 20 under the various options. At first I thought the ButtonX was a mouse button. Maybe it is with some anticipation of there being eventually being a possible 20 buttons on the mouse. I know the Super key is the Key with the Windows logo on it. But I don't know what to do to get the needed Super Key / Button combination. After having enabled Compiz's Screenshot plugin by its default, I don't get an image after hitting any of the Super key and mouse button combinations. I'm running Ubuntu 11.04.
View 2 Replies View RelatedThe best explanation I can get to my problem is in the title, I get some horizontal strips that I notice specially in videos (I use XBMC, full screen).I had this problem before in 10.4 and I was able to solve it simply by choosing no effects on the old menu for the appearance.
Unfortunately I followed the mote that states "If it works fine in needs more features" and I installed 11.4, now I can't seem to solve this problem... In the loggin screen I have the default option has Ubuntu classic (no effects) and I installed compiz settings and disabled everything there, but I still have the problem.I tried mint debian and I didn't have this problem there with everything off on the settings. How can I get the same effect as that "old" 10.4 menu to disable compiz?

Just put 11.4, 32 bit on a system with an Intel D865 GLC motherboard and 865G built in graphics controller. While the install went OK it turns out that X is totally hosed. After fighting with things for a while and discovering that Sax2 had disappeared I poked at Google and discovered some other poor folks that have had similar issues with Intel video cards. Based on a suggestion for a doc in OpenSuse.org I edited the file: /etc/X11/xorg.conf.d/50-device.conf
and added the line: Driver "intel" to it - after that things got better. Obviously the install process had not identified the video card correctly. I'm now left with another issue - while the system now identifies the driver and can talk to the monitor correctly, a Samsung S23A350H I can't open a window after X comes up and I login - basically the same issue as the unresolved Bug 673873: [Bug 673873] intel [865G] Windows flash rapidly or don't appear if Desktop Effects are on in KDE and GNOME
The workaround is to turn Desktop Effects off but since X doesn't work I can't figure out how to do that. I can't find the gnome-xgl-switch or a xgl-switch that used to exist to do it on the command line so that's out. Someone said you could drop the empty file "disable-compiz" in the ~/.config/compiz directory and that would do it but in 11.4 that directory doesn't exist. how to disable "Desktop Effects"/XGL/compiz or whatever it is now called on the command line in OpenSuse 11.4 without a gui if that is still possible?
I have persistent video tearing my second monitor (Mitsubushi HDTV). I have tried everything that was suggested with some improvement. I have no issue with tearing if I add the following to my xorg.conf
