I recently updated my iPod touch to the 4.2.1 firmware. So I get the usual
DBus error org.freedesktop.DBus.Error.NoReply: Message did not receive a reply (timeout by message bus) Error. Yes I've tried the old "sudo apt-get update;sudo apt-get dist-upgrade"
but that was to no avail. way to fix this? Now click 'back'.
when I connect my iphone (3GS, 4.3.3) to Fedora 15 it gives me this error: Unable to mount iphone

Im trying to instal Sun Virtualbox but when download completes and I click on install I get the following error>>Message did not receive a reply (timeout by message bus) I wont even bother with this software if there are others out there that are as easy to use. I used it on Windows and thought it was great ! (thats how I eventually switched to Linux, by using it virtually at first)

It takes about 30 seconds for a right click on the desktop to respond, whereas before it would've taken 1 or 2. Also, when trying to open a directory, say, the Home direcotry accessible from the launcher,it takes about a minute to open, which is odd,because all of my other applications (Chrome, Banshee etc) ares all running smoothly. And when the direcotry windowe does open, within 10 sconds it will turn grey and prompt me to force quit. When i try to open nautilus from a terminal, it comes back with the message

do have installed glib and dbus and can find them manually , /usr/include/glib-2.0/glib.h , but while comipling applicaiton it gives following error messages.

It's been awhile since I posted anything which is a good sign my install has been working well and I have been able to handle most everything. However, I'm not able to handle this issue. I recently installed F11 and everything went well. But, when trying to see my other computers on the local network, I cannot. I receive this error message: Unable to mount location Failed to receive shared list from server. I understand the message as it is obvious, but do not know how to fix it.

I tried to run Ubuntu One on my Lucid Lynx, however, when I want to start the Ubuntu One Client, I just receive a message from Login Keyring asking for a password:
The password you use to log in to your computer no longer matches that of your login keyring.
I haven't change my login password for a long time. It is still the same and it works.
However, when I put my current password below the keyring's message it says it is incorrect. When I try to change the password in in Accessories > Passwords and Encryption Keys it writes that the old password (my current one) is not correct.
What happens? Which password should I type there? I do not remember I set somewhere any other password than my current login one.

It's supossed to flash or blink when I receive a message (I've already configured Pidgin and I've also tried with emesene) but it just doesn't flash. I think it's something related to gnome or ubuntu config so it won't flash under any circumstance but I am not sure.

I've had my Ipod working fine using both Rhythmbox and gtkpod until a few weeks ago. Now, I can't get my Ipod to mount. My external hard drive mounts fine, just not the Ipod. When I plug it in I get the following message:

View 3 Replies View RelatedUnable to mount (DVD name) DBus error org.gtk.Private.RemoteVolumeMonitor.Failed: An operation is already pending I recently upgraded to 9.04. Installed medibuntu, ect, but still have this problem. I did not have the problem when I was using Hardy. The DVD I used yesterday was named "TNGS3D1", and though it showed up under places, clicking on the icon (right or left clicks) gave me the message above. Restarting and manually ejecting the DVD did nothing for it. I was able to finally mount the DVD yesterday, and operate it properly, after having this probem for several hours. I don't know why it suddenly worked, or why it doesn't now.
After using the DVD, I unmounted the icon on the desktop, but it is still listed under places. Today, I went to use another DVD, called "TNGS3D2". Again, it is listed under places, but it does not show up on the desktop. clicking on the icon just gives me the message again. Actually, now that I've typed all this, it's shown up on the desktop and works properly. (after approx. 20 min since closing the DVD tray) Is it jut slow? What can I do to fix all this? Why is yesterday's DVD still listed under places?
I just completed migrating a Redhat 9 server to new hardware and a virtual machine. If I attempt to alter the time or date with the date command I receive the following message. This also comes up during the bootup process along with "sleep: relocation error". I have never done I migration like this before and would consider myself a novice to linux. This server runs an old software package and I would prefer not having to totally reload it.
