It's get stuck with the updating time from internet servers process but I can't find a way to report it to launchpad.
I cannot find where to post bugs in the launchpad anymore? What happened to the launchpad? It's sort of goofy that there is no (report a bug) link anywhere. But if you search bugs then you can see a link to the right, but nothing anywhere else. And even then you can only post a bug regarding that same category and subject. So it would appear the launchpad has a bug, or I just can't figure out how to navigate to report a bug.

View 4 Replies View RelatedThe last few bugs I have reported on launchpad have met the response "submit it upstream". What's the point of submitting bugs on launchpad if the bug has to be reported again upstream anyway? Why not just report upstream in the first place and forget launchpad?
It seems like unnecessary duplication of effort. So can anyone give me some genuine reasons to bother reporting in launchpad?
today I had (once again) a bad experience with the Openoffice.org version shipped with OpenSuSe 11.2 (in this case OpenOffice.org 3.2.1 OOO320m19 (Build:9505) ooo-build 3.2.1.3) which is labeled stable. In calc, double borders (format --> cells --> borders 1,1pt) disappear after saving and reopening. After almost getting crazy and reactually onlyformatting the same spreadsheet far to many times, I realized I was not too stupid hitting the save button and decided to install the plain vanilla version (as I had done on a previous version on my laptop due to another novell edition bug I cannot recall.) Luckily the plain vanilla version has not this bug. However, since I like some of the features the novell edition offers (namely colored tabs and .xlsx export support) and I generally prefer installing software through repositories where possible, and of course because it is my duty as an opensource user. I would like to know were to report a bug that is specific to the version of a program shipped with OpenSuse.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI find that the FC 15 Xfce spin will save the user's current session except that it doesn't save what is being done with the Lyx editor. Under FC 15 Gnome 3, I found that after I added the minimize-maximize-close buttons to the top of windows, that some of the windows in Lyx (such as the one that appears for View as DVIPS) didn't respond to those buttons. (I don't remember whether Gnome 3 saved the Lyx session and I've gotten rid of Gnome 3 now.)

Everything used to work fine but then the server ip changed and I can no longer access it with the web name and have to use the ip directly

I am using Mozilla and have tried Chromium, but that did not fix my problem. When I click on "submit" to post a thread, the page will just say "loading..." and nothing happens for a really long time. Does anyone know what is up? I tried posting on one other forum that I go to often and it seems to work out fine. I haven't tried any other forums though.

When I try to do it the way explained in the guide, it tells me that I'm using a stable version of Xubuntu, and that only people running dev versions (like 11.10) can report bugs.This seems absurd. But their register button only leads to "Invalid OpenID transaction," and I think that's a bug, and I think I ought to report that over here since I obviously can't register or report it over there.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI finally figured out how to upload onto Launchpad into a PPA, but unfortunately, I cannot seem to get the version numbers worked out.
For instance, here is the original version of bleachbit-bonus:
bleachbit-bonus_0.8.2-1_all.deb
And I can successfully break it down into the correct source binaries for Launchpad, but when I try a folder name such as this:
bleachbit-bonus-0.8.2-1~ppa1
It uploads to the PPA just fine, but the versioning is bad. For some reason it breaks it down like this:
package name: bleachbit-bonus-0.8.2
version: 1~ppa1
Also, I really don't care what the version name is, I just want it working so I can mimic for several packages.
Is anyone else having trouble...I'm getting a ton of "Failed to fetch..." errors while updating.The site itself is working fine. No news here [URL]. Normally I wouldn't be concerned, however this happened right when I modified my sources so I'm hoping I didn't mess something up.

But I find a lot of great apps that are not included in repositories and would like to ask. How actually secure launchpad is? Are the codes reviewed by anyone? How do I make sure that a piece of software is not going to harm my Ubuntu? If I add a PPA for some program I won't going to check it's code every time it updates or am I being too cautious?

its not related to the mint packages because i installed the keyring for that and since the error i have unchecked the linux mint repo. i have tried reinstalling the ubuntu-keyring package with no luck.
If you have problem using Ubuntu 11.04 from USB, remove the U3 launchpad if you do not need it at all. I was playing around and by mistake I deleted the Chat and Mail panels which are default on the launchpad or whatever the top bar is called (where by default the date and power options/buttons appear). I want to bring it back.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI am running the x64 version of Ubuntu 9.10. For the past 2 days(haven't installed any new programs within the same time frame). I've started to encounter problems after I lock my computer, (ctrl+alt+l), then come back and unlock it. After unlocking, I am unable to open any programs.
Attempts to open programs include: panel icon buttons, application menu buttons(including opening nautilus through the places menu), alt+F2, and using gnome-do. I also can't use any of the buttons in the user menu to the far right to log off or shut down the computer and am forced to hold the power button to restart my laptop. I am able to use programs that are already open with no problems.
Also, If i lock the laptop again, the screen darkens as expected, except, when i move the mouse to bring up the login dialog all i see is short flickers of my mouse as it moves around a black screen.

Recently while at school, my trackpad stopped working completely. When I log out to my login screen it works, and as well as kde. I use compiz btw in gnome.[SOLVED I THINK] --> My boot splash doesn't show up until its fully loaded and won't show in the correct resolution.Every so often, the UI flips out and won't let me click menus or text fields or use my keyboard at all.
The trackpad is a setting i bet. BUT I looked everywhere for a setting that is making it not work.[SOLVED I THINK] --> The splash is ok, I'm not worried about it, but I wished it looked nicer on my computer D:The UI freak out is annoying and trouble some as it happens randomly in use.

1. Bug one. For some strange reason, my mouse is red only when hovering over a firefox window. All the other time, its white. I have tried to use the built in cursor changer thing, and it seems only capable of changing the cursor for the desktop. Not this strange, magical red firefox cursor. It starts to mess with ya.2. Not really a bug I guess, just a mild annoyance. In windows 7, you have a good deal of play when it comes to where you want to position your icons on the desktop. Not so with Ubuntu 10.04. Its more like windows 95 when it comes to that. Is there some way to solve this? You have like an inch between places you can move icons to. Makes the desktop look ugly, and I would just feel more at home if I could position them correctly. The pic is an accurate representation of this. On the far left, that is as far as the icons can go. And if you want them near each other, they have to sit way too close, or way too far apart. (oh and that pic was before I attempted to change the cursor lol. Now its white when not hovering over FF, red when over FF. Now I'm stuck in that configuration lol)
