Is it just me or does Eclipse disappear when it is minimized. I only installed Ubuntu today so maybe I'm just missing something lol. I was just doing a bit of coding and now I can't find it after minimizing it
View 1 Repliesi don't know what happened, I was doing the ctrl+alt+fn thing to pan around my desktops, and i think i somehow assigned the mouse to automatically right click on its own whenever i move it or anything. This is really messed up. It's like a virus. Just writing this the right click window has come up about 20 times and there's now a dozen new folders on my desktop. How do I fix this? How do I go into controls and stuff?

When I minimize windows, they disappear beyond my desktop not leaving the button to maximize them again on the lower panel...
I have no idea how to get the minimized windows to be stored on the lower panel...

Anytime I open a window and then minimize it-poof it's gone! for instance when I minimize firefox or just about any other app it just disappears instead of landing into the panel as it usually does when minimized. Is this a KDE problem? I just tried to upgrade to 11.2/KDE on the net (that was a mistake.) I finally installed from Downloaded DVD (install version) and crawled back from upgrade hell.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have been using Eclipse to program in Java for a long time, and have been using Jigloo for most of my GUI design. Recently I decided to try out the C/C++ plugin. I tried installing it, but it did not work. After many attempts, I finally gave up. However, after uninstalling it I found that Jigloo had stopped working. Any other plugins I try to install now also don't work. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling plugins, and reinstalling eclipse, but nothing I have done fixes it. Although eclipse says that the software has been installed, nothing shows up in the features list or the plugins list.
Another problem: When I install eclipse from the repositories, it doesn't install a bunch of libraries and eclipse cannot recognize standard java files.
I recently had to reinstall Eclipse on ubuntu 10.10 and i did it twice, once just removing eclipse package, and the second time removing every package associated with an eclipse install.when i launch eclipse I go into my package view and select a package and then double click on a Java file.

I know Zend stands behind PHP and that Eclipse is a popular open source IDE. What is the difference tho?Is the PDT Project only a functionality that could be added to Eclipse IDE? I have downloaded Zend Studio for Eclipse, so far it seems very complete (no that have learned how to use all its features).

I think this means that I am missing the correct repo, but I'm not sure which is the right one and don't know how to add it to my repo list for this version. I know it sounds strange, but I want to have Evolution Mail open at start up, but be minimized. I know the command to open Evolution Mail is "evolution --component=mail" but how would I make the window starts out being minimized in the Launcher.

I am using the Shift Switcher on Compiz to switch windows. Also i don't use any taskbar to show what apps are open or not. Minimized windows are simply "invisible" as it were. When switching, minimized windows are represented by their icons. Instead i would like to see them as a thumbnail (as with maximized windows). Can i make Compiz do that?

How can i disable the transparency of minimized applications. I attached a SS to explain it. I want the icon pointed by arrow to be non transparent, same as icon at the right of it.
Most of the times I open a program (either Evolution or Liferea) from the MeMenu, it appears shifted below. By this I mean that, even if the window is maximized, it does not reach the panel, leaving a strip where one can see behind. But, when one tries to click on anything, it behaves like if the window was in place.So, in order to click on some area, I have to aim some 50px or so above it. Of course this is not very comfortable. Stangely enough, this does no happen if I get the focus of Evolution or Liferea by some other means, such as Alt+Tab or clicking on the sidebar.

the theme that i am using is dark and when i have application minimized and need attention like aconversation window or something and someone send something to me it blink in a gray color which is not easy to notice and i was thinking to change that to a bright orange or something... so is that possible to do without changing the theme?

I tried adding tomboy to System -> Preferences -> Startup Applications, but then Tomboy opens up in full-screen mode. Then I tried adding tomboy-panel instead, but that doesn't seem to do anything at all. What's the trick I'm missing?

As what you already know is that, the "scale" feature only works for the open windows not the minimized ones.
